Which DC comic would you love to make into a movie?

I'm actually working on a Wonder Woman script treatment right now that's really progressing well. I've actually broken into a great story that's both an original creation of mine and at the same time takes several elements from several comics in the WW title.

If I can get it finished I'm gonna try and see if a screenwriter that's actually had films released wants to do a full screenplay with me and try and catch the studio's attention. I'm not getting my hopes up but KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR ME!

Flash (Barry Allan)
Wonder Woman
Green Arrow (Alexander Skarsgard as Ollie)
a GOOD Swamp Thing

Sounds awesome! I'd love to read it!

I would obviously love to see top and second-tier characters given their due, but seeing as GL has dashed that a little, here's some lower-budget genre-style movies I would love to see.

Rose and Thorn - based on Gail Simone's miniseries. Loved this, would work well as a film.

Hourman - As a grungy film this could work really well. Miraclo has a great angle as a drug metaphor. Think a mix between comic book film and The Machinist/Memento/Requiem for a Dream.

Batgirl - WB tries too hard not to 'confuse' the audience by sticking to only one continuity at a time in each medium. It's a shame, because really, audiences can easily work this stuff out. I'd love a punkish, kick-ass Batgirl film which has a sense of humour, brains and great action. Get Rian Johnson to direct. This could be a cult favourite. Early Babs or Stephanie, and humorous references to Batman but no real need for him to appear. No links at all to Nolanverse.

Superman: Red Son - Alright, big character, but could still be a 'smaller' film. As above, there's no need to stick to one continuity. We really are smart enough to work out 'what if?' stories. And, oh sweet baby Jebus, how I want this.

Shazam! - Animated, with Brad Bird directing. Awesome.

WB needs to think about more than just tentpoles.

It seems more and more likely that I may actually get a chance to hop on board Aquaman. Being adopted I know how to bring it to life. And I currently have a script that would radically put me on the board if it is picked up and big name interest has already been shown in it. A certain studio which has strong ties to DC has already read my script for a cartoon property and liked it a lot, putting interest in my other projects. The one that's gaining the most ground is an extreme fantasy holiday film and deeply dark horror film. It would be the first holiday film of it's kind story-wise weirdly and put me on the map for Aquaman. I'm adopted from a third world country - basically my own version of Atlantis. To approach it, I'd first take the journey to my "home world" and spend time writing it there as well while trying to find my bio parents so I can have as strong and reliable a feeling of what Arthur must be going through experiencing new customs and his biologic language which is now foreign to him. It'd be my established Hollywood "niche."

I also can't say much information beyond this.

1. A series of Flash movies, initially centred on Barry Allen, that includes the storyline where Professor Zoom kills Iris West, as well as Barry passing the torch to Wally West.

2. Epic, mythology-based Wonder Woman film

3. Green Arrow: Escape from Supermax

4. Superman: Red Son

5. Justice Society of America

6. The Sandman (Neil Gaiman version)

7. Martian Manhunter

8. Teen Titans

9. Shazam!

10. Porn film starring Shyla Stylez as Power Girl :woot:

Swamp Thing. In my head I come up with all these ideas, even silly things like teaser trailers, which is crazy to think of that before you've even got an entire script/story. But it is something I'm dying to see. I've had these loose ideas about where to take it, maybe in to 2 or 3 films.

It's absolutely top of my list though.
