lol, you're so wrong, it's crazy.
Uh huh. MGS is a saturday morning anime cartoon. Splinter Cell is a Clancy novel. You hide inside and behind box after box in MGS games. Splinter Cell actually puts you in realistic situations, with realistic stealth tactics. There has been, a character in the MGS series that wears roller skates and throws bombs. People deflect bullets with swords. Please. MGS doesn't come close to Splinter Cell. When you're 10 you like MGS. Giant robots! Cyborg ninjas! Cool beans! When you grow up and read some Clancy, learn about real world threats ( I mean, other than giant robots of course) you'll put those childish things behind you and cry youself to sleep for weeks that you wasted any time playing a character with a mullet.

I like Splinter Cell. No, I love Splinter Cell, but MGS still holds the number one spot in my heart. I love that franchise. Where your argument loses its ground is they're entirely different games, and you're using that to fuel how one is better than the other. SC is grounded in a realistic world where everything is logical and possible, while MGS is more of a fantasy game. When I want to feel like a badass, stalking people in the shadows I'll play Chaos Theory, if I want to have a cinematic game experience I'll play MGS.

Seems pretty one sided to me.

Matt got to it first.. But **** your reasoning. Does Star Wars suck since there's Aliens and Lightsabers, and omg it's too unrealistic. Does Halo suck, because man, there technology is so unrealistic. Exactly. You have no arguement, so shut-up.

There's a difference between childish and unrealistic. MGS is childish. A giant monkey head? Yeah, that's bad @ss all over.

That's a mini game, you dip ****.

Yeah, it is. You're comparing a game with comical qualities to a gritty one.
I'm comparing a good game to a childish, silly, cartoon of a game. Splinter Cell has it's moments of humor. Yet, it some how remains not awful.

That giant monkey head isn't even what's there by default, what the hell are you smoking? Watch the MGS4 trailer for something of Splinter Cell caliber.

It's not even in the game.. He has no point, so he's getting desperate..

Machines that "mark" their territory, and a guy over age 70 trying to do combat stuff isn't "Splinter Cell calibur", that's got MGS written all over it.

lol. In terms of grittyness it is.

First, I know.

Second, like that makes it any cooler?

Do you understand what gritty means? It's usually taken to mean "raw" and "uncensored", not "makes you burst into laughter before shaking your head at people who still buy this garbage". There's nothing "gritty" about animal machines and a geriatric spy.

MULLET MAN (take note how tacticle he looks! Melt right into

This argument is way too biased for me to handle and I don't have the Zenien in me to argue anymore, you guys keep comparing your picture perfect Splinter Cell shots to extras for Metal Gear Solid 3 on top of generalizing MGS4 and have yer way. Splinter Cell didn't even have anything to do with this thread until DACMAN brought it up, lol. F**kin' ridiculous.

Staring one of the Baldwin brothers.

Personally I put MGS before all else, but Im guessing Halo's multiplayer badassness will tip the tide of this poll.

Picture perfect Splinter Cell pics? I grabbed a screen shot. You know, you're allowed to post some "picture perfect" shots of MGS. Good luck.

When some one brings up MGS, Splinter Cell is always sure to follow. When people eat dirt for so long, they get used to it. When other people who've had some brand new steak come around and go "dude, you're eating dirt" they get pissed off. Instead, how about you drop the dirt and come eat some steak with us.

What was biased about it? There was nothing false or even spun in my favor about what I posted, all I did was write down what has actually happened with the series.
