Probably the only time that applying a strict de minimus ethnicity quota policy makes sense is if your making a historical film where it reflects fact. Outside that, the notion is just offensive.

As I said a few pages back; this is my ideal JL lineup (8 people)

Supes
Bats
Wondy
John Stewart
Wally
Hawkgirl
Cyborg
Aquaman

That lineup would really avoid any tokenism. Two, GREAT, female characters. A great black character (Stewart), and another great black character that I've slowly warmed up to. Would be awesome to see.

And John stands on his own as a character. He has the most relatable personality out of all the GLs imho. I want to see him for that reason, and him adding diversity is just an extra piece of the puzzle.

Same with Shayera, great character and her adding diversity is an extra piece of the puzzle.

I would swap Hawkgirl for Zatanna. She's an underappreciated character, but she's not a spinoff and I think she could bring a ton of fun roguish sass to the League.

yep :csad:

John Stewart was really great on Justice League TAS... Some of the best Green Lantern media came from JS. What is the Flash/GL dynamic if you use John though?

Not bad at all, though I would swap Vixen for Hawkgirl, and incorporate some of Animal Man's themes along the way.

I think everyone agrees with that. New Guy was just arguing that that's not WB's policy, unfortunately.

I also see Stewart being someone who can look at Bats and Supes and say "Shut up, you two. We have actual business to get done."

Although that's kinda Wonder Woman's role.

Yep. I like that basically none of the GLs take **** from Bats. But outside of Bats and Wondy I feel like Stewart is the one guy Supes would respect the most because I feel like Stewart is a lot like Clark actually. Which is part of the reason he's my favorite GL.

It's a more mentor/student type of relationship in my view. Or even father/son like. That type of dynamic doesn't exist on the main JL lineup so that's part of what makes it such a great relationship (John and Wally).

Hal and Barry, while also a great relationship is more buddy/buddy. They are equals more or less, but we have a team full of equals already.

Hawkgirl is Black in the comics nowadays I believe. If they ever decide to include her in future sequels, They'll probably keep that.

What makes JS's personality more relatable? He's so milteristic and stoic. Hal can be stoic as well, but he's also more light-hearted and down to Earth. He's very much like Captain Kirk with superpowers.

lol i didn't need a history lesson :p. I was saying what the relationship be between John and Barry? Because Barry is most likely going to be the movie Flash, and there's a chance that John will be used, and we've never seen John/Barry's dynamic deeply explored

I think I agree with the consensus here, though. If you can't find the right actor for Stewart, don't bother. That role depends on charisma and a certain gravitas.

Yeah I don't know that dynamic. But I'm open to a new dynamic being created in the film. I'm always open to new interpretations of all characters.

I'm imagining Idris Elba and John Krasinski as GL and Flash bouncing off each other :D The Barry/John dynamic works in my mind!

Or even Idris & Charlie Hunnam, just like in Pacific Rim. I'd love to see them reunite for Justice League - but this time they'd be more equal obviously.

I thought Hunnam and Elba were both pretty bad in Pacific Rim. I thought everyone was bad in that movie.

How about Chiwetel Ejiofor and Topher Grace? Or would a blonde Topher Grace bring back bad memories for some?

I wonder who would be the sarcastic guy...
I don't control the Flash stuff.

Wally is the funny guy like in JLAseries or Barry also is?

How can you describe his personalities of Barry, Wally...
Also was Hal a sarcastic man in pre-New 52? How is Kyle's?

If those can, I'd say John with Wally or Kyle with Wally.
or Hal and Barry.

The question is who would be funny maker or sarcastic man.
Hal, Barry,Kyle or Wally?

I love Topher in That 70s Show and I didn't even hate him as Venom, but I don't think he's right for The Flash.

Ejiofor would be AMAZING as John. That's another actor that could get me excited about seeing John.

Hal is commonly portrayed as cocky and humorous, Reynold's portrayal wasn't out of character, but there's been times where he's been portrayed a lot more seriously too. When he needs to be, he's serious. He's just a wiseass sometimes, just not to the extent of Guy. John is the straight man.

Barry is kind of an everyman I'd say. Kind of similar to early Peter Parker but not exactly. I liked the way The New Frontier and Justice League War movies portrayed Barry. He's funny and lighthearted, but not the wisecracking jokester that Hal becomes when he's with Barry.

That's the thing. John on his own isn't an interesting character, unlike Superman, Batman, or Spider-Man. JLU/JL John is cool because Phil Lamarr is badass, plus Bruce Timm and Dwayne McDuffie could make any character excellent.

The main draw to having John in this film wouldn't be John Stewart himself, but the great black actor they could cast in the role.

Yeah I agree with that. Hal Jordan gets me interested regardless of the actor, with John, the actor has to sell me because the character already hasn't.

The only thing they can do with John is combine him with Hal, then i'll be okay with him.

What about Kyle and wally? do you know how they are each one?

The common thing with all you put is a Barry/Hal then.

I don't think it matters what character could do that. Because no character should have to do that.

^ Yeah...if anyone's all business, its Batman and Superman.

Now, Wally West from JLTAS....that's another story.
