Can you guys settle a debate I had with my girlfriend and her freind? One of us thinks Robocop is more violent than Kick Ass.

So which has worse violence, Kick Ass or Robocop?

Gotta go with Robocop. The scene where Murphy gets blown away is worse than anything in Kick Ass.

I will play devil's advocate...

I say Kick Ass is worse...

The ending includes a main villain who is vigorously trying to kill an 11-year-old girl... (yeeah, sure, she is kicking his butt and I can understand the villain's frustration.. but still...)

Robocop, definitely. One of the most violent action movies ever.

Easily Robocop. Murphy's death alone makes it worse than Kick Ass

Robocop wins due to that guy with the melting skins after getting splashed by the chemicals. Gave me NIGHTMARES.

Between that business schmuck being turned into swiss cheese and the guy melting and getting splattered all across the windshield...it ain't even a question who's the winner.

I voted Robocop

Although Kick Ass has more violence it's style and humor make it easier to stomach.

RoboCop.

Proof CGI can never replace practical blood effects.

Definately Robocop, Kick-Ass isnt even that Violent by comparison.

Dead or alive, you're coming with me!

I pick RoboCop

Probably Robocop (haven't seen it in years), but Kick-Ass is the much better movie.

Robocop

the guy in the boardroom and Murphy getting blown to hell, Robocop shooting the rapist right in the crotch, and the guy getting mutated by the chemicals - "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Also, Robocop sticking his computer access wolverine claw into Clarence Boddinger's neck.

The DC of Robocop is the only DC I have seen that *only* adds more gratuitous violence.

Easily Robocop. KA is just Tarantino like exaggerated violence.

Most definitely Robocop. Recently I rewatched Robocop and I was surprised at just how violent it is, since I first watched it when I was a kid and I didn't remember all the gruesome scenes. However, the movie still holds up well after all these years, and it shows that CGI blood & gore just can't replace the practical effects that Robocop has.
