Which Hulk Is Stronger? (2008 or 2003)

A good friend of mine who saw the an advanced screening told me that hulk does some pretty "strong" things during this movie. But I read a review saying that the 08 hulk is "weaker" compared to the 03 hulk. I for one dont beleive this but I wanna know what you guys think...............

I don't think the new hulk is weaker, I don't think he'll do any feats like throwing a tank though.

I think by looking at the trailers for this one, you would realize that the HULK in 03 seems to be stronger. He simply does stronger feats.

Let's look at their display's of strength:

O3' Hulk: Tore apart a genetically altered poodle.

08' Hulk: Tears apart an automobile.

Hmmm...this is going to be tough.

Obviously it's impossible to know without seeing the new movie, but I agree that based on trailers this Hulk looks a little less powerful than the '03 Hulk... And more grounded (I don't see this Hulk jumping like 10 miles).

Why do fans care about this? Just because it's called The Incredible Hulk doesn't mean that he needs to lift heavy objects to show off his strength. You get into that mentality and you end up with films like Superman Returns.

Here's a better question: Why do some fans only care about how much he lifts? I mean, would you prefer if the comics didn't have any dialogue or drama? Just Hulk walking around and lifting heavy objects to prove a point?

If this were any other superhero I'd agree but don't forget about Hulk's tagline 'The Strongest One There Is' so really it's fair in this case to make comparisons of strength.

Just to add, no one is saying his strength is the only thing that matters in this movie or even if it matters at all, it's just something to talk about.

I agree with you dude....on certain levels. The incredible hulk is a superhero. He HAS superpowers that deserved to be showcased and what is a superhero without super powers?????????

I agree with The Chibi Kiriyama. I like to NOT think of the limits of strength when it comes to heroes like Superman and Hulk. I think that's more what the characters are meant to be- unimaginably powerful. Unfortunately, geekdom likes to have everything be measurable. How much can he lift... who's stronger than who... ect. I treat these characters more like myths in that the significance of their role in a story is what matters most.

03 of course, I mean they DID make him like 35 feet tall, but I'd say the new one isn't so much *weaker* as it is right where it *should* be. They went way too overboard with the 03 Hulk.

well i just saw the g4 interview with louis and he indeed said we will see captain "himself" in the hulk movie. maybe they cast an unknown and we won't even notice ? i hear strong rumors of matthew mcconaughey being the top runner for the roll.

Yes, I've read Hulk comics. I've read everything from the Essentials to Peter David's run on the books. That's part of what makes me annoyed. The only comic runs I've seen that are as one-minded about Hulk Smash as some fans make it out to be are Millar and Loeb's takes (which haven't been accepted with open arms). Most every other run managed to mix together Hulk's feats of strength with a good story. This movie seems to be doing just that, so I don't see why people are nitpicking how incredible his incredible feats will be.

...*sigh* I like how you not only didn't even answer the question but you sound like you didn't watch the movie as well. Fat Hulk? Really? Did the fat just selectively place itself into a six-pack. So far the 03 Hulk beats the new one in strength though. I mean when you can throw a tank several miles...Come on.
