really there’s so many to choose from

Hopefully none. Though with 22 films released and at least 9 upcoming films announced, I wouldn't be surprised if we get 1 supervillain film in the future.

Definitely Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers. It has already come up several times.

None, I hope. Although if I had to vote for one I'd choose the Silver Surfer.

Either Doom, Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers

I don’t particularly want one but if it is happening then I’d take Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers.

Doom seems the most viable to me.

I'm not sure they would do it ever. However, Doom would probably be the best fit. It could also get you out of re-telling the F4 origin for the MCU.

I wanna say Doom.

Mystique and her soap opera with Rogue, Nightcrawler and Destiny would make a great Disney + series though.

Venom already did.

As for the MCU, the Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers seem most likely to me but I still wouldn't bet on it.

Doom. They have to try a different way to introduce the F4 into MCU and this is their best bet. Doom is so deep that he can take on the Avengers and Strange because of his technology and magic, which you won't have enough time in a movie if you are introducing the F4 and Doom. Introduce him first and tell the story from his point of view and at the end, let his see Reed Richards and the F4 in the big screen or let it be a mid credit scene.

I would love a Thanos or Galactus movie personally. It seems I am one of the few who wants Marvel to start doing villain movies.

Plenty of Marvel villains could carry their own movie, I can think of a number off the top of my head.

Well it's not like Doom's origin is tied to the FF's origin. They're two completely separate things. It's the live action films by Fox which have always tied the two together.

We already had a Thanos movie practically. It was Infinity War. Also I'm sure general audiences would be bored of him by now, or would think that Marvel don't have any other great villains that they have to keep milking that cow for all it is worth.

I know, but seeing as both Reed and Victor went to Empire state U, its an easy place to seed F4 stuff. Maybe even include a young Reed in the film. You could even set the 4 up as existing in the world towards the end of the film. That was how I figured you'd get out of telling their story again. Kind of like they did with SM in Civil War. The way his solo wasn't another re-hash of being bitten, and Uncle Ben, and Great Power etc etc.

Yeah, I'm not sure what more there is to say about MCU Thanos than has already been done. I just feel like his story has been told. I agree that he was already the protagonist in Infinity War.

Doom, Magneto, Ock and Norman Osbourne are all interesting enough to have their own movie, IMO.

The movie was quite clearly not just about him though. I mean something like the Thanos Rising comic where we see the beginnings on his mindset on Death, etc. You could easily tie that into the movie version and with Eternals coming out, it’s definitely something they could explore if they wanted too.

It worked for Maleficient and Cruella De Ville, so why can't the MCU make a villain flick work? Start with Books of Doom as an inspiration and follow Doom's origin.

I am always surprised at the antipathy some have to the idea of villains getting their own film adaptations.

What is that about exactly? I mean there have been many films over the years about terrible people. Films with despicable characters as the main character. Is it a feeling that such films legitimize immorality or some such in regards to super villains?

I mean lots of great works of art and literature not to mention some critically acclaimed films and serialized dramas have had bad people as main characters.

Why can't those types of stories be done with comic book super villains according to some?

I feel like some have this idea that it takes away from the superheroes somehow if you start giving the villains their own movies. Like the villains should only exist to serve the heroes' stories. It's more a symptom of the 'I want my adaptation exactly how I pictured it in my head' syndrome, which is why it wouldn't really get applied to more original stuff like Breaking Bad, et al.
