which obscure 80's cartoon should get a new movie

You can't top that suggestion...but I don't think it's necessarily obscure.
I don't know about that. Out of my friends who are "geeks", I'm the only one who has actually watched the series. Sure, on the internet everyone seems to know this show existed, and ran on television. Though it obviously only appeals to a niche fanbase, and doesn't have that many website devoted to it...not nearly as many as Transformers, G.I.Joe, or TMNT.

Also Macross, and the other shows used to create Robotech were complete flops in Japan initially. They've grown more popular with time, I think in large part to all the changes Carl Macek made. Making both the fans and the detractors become more hardline supporters of their respective shows.

Man, watching the intros to some of those shows was painful. I loved MASK, Silverhawks and Bionic Six, but those theme songs were way too cheesy. Would be awesome to see any of those movies on the big screen though, I remember having so many of those toys, all that's left though is the guitar from Silverhawks, not even the figure, just the guitar.

Like I said in another thread COPS is the one to do.

I beg to differ. The number is 3 out of 5 at worst. I like that batting average.

What TV cartoon has worked so far anyway? Transformers made serious money but it was quite dumb. Underdog? The Flintstones? Alvin & The Chipmunks? Gack.

How about any TV show adaptation? Beverly Hillbillies? Starsky & Hutch? Dukes of Hazard? Wild Wild West? The Brady Bunch? Charlie's Angels? Bewitched? All Crap.

I'll stick with comic book adaptations, thank you.

Transformers may have been dumb....but come on...so was the cartoon. That movie was fun. And Alvin was a cute movie. My kids loved it. I haven't seen Underdog, but I loved the Flinstones movie.

I'd have to agree that the Silverhawks theme wouldn't work in a live action film. They'd need a more epic-y type theme, something that evokes the whole adventures across the stars thing.

**** yeah. COPS was the ****!

After COPS I'd do MASK, Jayce & The Wheeled Warriors, Visionaries.. man there are so many with untapped potential for live action or even animated feature films.

Glad Robotech is on the way.

Ma-Ma-Ma-MASK!

Or what was the one with all those awesome monster toys? It might have been the Centurions. Those toys were ****ing awesome!

Oh, I got one:

STREET SHARKS-They're JAWSOME!

Capt. Bucky O'Hare...that's right.

MOTHER ****ING DUCKULA!!! :hehe:

^ lmao!
What the hell was Heart supposed to do? Everybody else has something that's gonna supply action, and his ring just spurts out little pink rings...that annoying accent. Water, Wind, Fire, Earth... whats next? Metal? No. Steel? No. Its Heart.

Galaxy High, COPS or Visionaries would be just simply brilliant...

I'm currently writing a sort of screenplay/treatment narrative on how Galaxy High could work on big screen... it could seriously kick ass and be like Sky High in a way.

My point exactly.

That's pretty classic in shows from back when, having the overly PC, overly childlike companion. Even Johnny Quest had bandit, Transformers had Wheelie,

Can you imagine them turning the Snorks into a CGI fest ala Finding Nemo?

Cadillacs & Dinosaurs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
