I've just been looking over this site-

http://www.alcor.org/

After reading that after Paris Hilton Passes away she's going to be preserved. It's very interesting reading to find out that thesedays not only can they preserve your whole body to be revived in the future but also your brain (i'm a little hazy on that one, will they in the future pop your brain into a new body)

The site has quite a comprehensive FAQ but what went unanswered was the psychological repercissions of a human being being 'brought back to life' after 100 years to a world they would barely recognise, not to mention there family and friends gone.

Walt Disney was said to be cryogenically preserved (A urban Myth) but it raises the question where do you stand on the idea of Life Extension, would you?

I personally would like to be frozen, but it isn't a matter of my preference, so much as the cost.

I want to be brought back via TARDIS time vortex energy after I die. :)

I want to be cut into small pieces and delivered through time to various periods.

$150,000 For your body and 80,000 for your head. Not as much as i thought it would be but its also a further $508 per year to look after your body.

that's great, screw saving the brightest and brilliant minds of our time for the benefit of future generations, lets preserve some skanky ho, with little or no understanding of the world as it exists today. What's she going to tell future generations about the 21st century? How to get famous by being born into a wealthy family then acting like a tramp in public... Then again, if idiocracy is an indication of the future of humanity, perhaps she should be frozen...in fact, why wait till she departs her mortal coil, can't we just freeze the bit(c)h now?

That's kind of creepy. :csad:

I think that would be pretty cool but scary as hell. But it would suck if you made it to some form of afterlife (Heaven or what have you) and they brought you back.

it states on the site (though i'm hazy on this too) that your soul would stay with you as your brain would still be sort of alive in suspended animation so while your frozen your soul stays with you.

I'm still confused to if they save your head what will they do with it in the future? Brain transplant?

Paris Hilton wants to be preserved. Gugh. That means in the years 1 billion that ***** will be still around, probably holding a space version of Tinkerbell. Gugh.

Futurama just got a little bit closer to reality.

Freezing would kill you no matter what. Blood vessels would collect ice and either burst open or slice you open from the inside. The only chance of it working would be if someone was diabetic (type 1) and was kept in long enough cold conditions to develop brown fat, and even then you couldn't completely freeze them. So even if they could freeze you with your brain cells exploding (which they would) they would have to also give you an all new circulatory system (not just a heart, blood vessels and all) or you couldn't come back. Basically freezing can't work.

Now cloning on the other hand..... that I would be down for.

Cloning's not you though. It's just some two bit dollar store version of you. You wouldn't get to feel like you yourself were still alive. You'd just die, then there'd be some lame ass copy of you taking your place.

How the hell can you know that? Plus what about a copy of my mind in forty years in the body I have today? Haven't you ever wished you could go back and start over with what you know today? Lame ass version indeed....

Besides if virus' turn out to be evolutionary copywriters as theorized you could literally "infect" a clone host with yourself, writing over the blanks completely.

damn it! some one needs to blow her to smithereens.

I want to be frozen and then be brought back a thousand years later. Become best friends with a robot and work for a very old man

How much for Paris Hiltons frozen body?

This has zombie written all over it.

Technical Support!!! Seriously, did you see Vanilla Sky?
