I actually think it would be cool to start with the Danger Room sequence - open with an action bang, throw us off-balance.

But young Jean Grey will be good.

The X-Men during the Danger Room training sequence is my first choice. And the Young Jean Grey discovering her powers and being helped by Professor X is my second. Both would be great. But with the danger room, (like hinny weasley said) it would start the movie off with a total BAM!

I'd like the first scene to be young Jean discovering her powers with the help of Xavier and Magneto. If it would be followed by Angel's introduction, would nicely mirror X1 openingscenes, those with Magneto and Rogue.

It'd most likely be the young Jean and Angel sequences, and it might go right into the Danger Room without build-up or explanation. There'd be more impact on the viewers that aren't aware that it's actually a simulated environment...

Young Jean Grey discovering her powers and being helped by Professor X.

I'd like to see the tradition held high with the voice overs... only a mix between X1 and X2. X1 started with a Patrick Stewart voice-over, and X2 ended with a Famke voice-over.

Personally, I'd like to see a, not necessarily overlapping (though some lines may work) voice over with BOTH of them speaking, as we go through another cool random CGI effects scene that ends with on an eye lid that is obviously underwater as the camera pans slightly further out to show the whole eye.

The lids open, bubbling air up, to reveal a dark brown eye. The brown quickly turns to flame, the water boils, and the bubbles fade into a bright white. The white turns into a shine as the X twists and turns onto the screen, and Logans claws come up as in the advertisements, finally coming to the title.

Then we fade into the Young Jean's house scene with a computer generated younger Charles Xavier, and Eric Lensherr.

It would make sense if young Jean started off the movie. It does set the tone for the film, as Nightcrawler's attack did for X2 (the mutant/human fight for survival) and young Magneto's encampment did for X-Men (those who are different struggling for acceptance).

And YES, Professor X's voice over is a MUST.

Does anyone know what the time period is between X2 and X-men 3? With X-Men and X2 it was about 6 months (give or take).

Is it a couple of days, a few months or a whole year??

Kinberg said around 7 or 8 months.

Last year, when everyone seemed to be making there own, this is how I would do X3 scripts/outlines, the first scene I had was Jean as a young girl being dropped off at the mansion by her parents, followed by a funeral scene for her. Then needing to blow off steam the X men went to the danger room. So I voted for the jean scene, I think it will provide great bookends.

I am a fan of action opening scenes, but unless its a bond movie, I like it to jump start the plot, like X2.

I think starting the movie off with young Jean Grey's flashback, unable to control her powers. Both Magneto and Xavier are supposed to be there, right? And Beast is the driver, I think. I think it'd be a very interesting scene to see all three of them in same scene at Jean's house and I am very curious as to how they will "young" both Xavier and Magneto up. Should be great.

Followed by Angel's flashback. I get tears every time I think of it; a boy frightened of his mutation and wanting to be rid of his wings. Locked in the bathroom with feathers on the ground. I saw Cayden Boyd in Cold Case and he was brilliant in it. I'm sure he'll blow us off our seats as young Angel, not action-wise, but drama-wise.

i would like to the first scene to be of the lake and what wakes jean. Something sinister might wake her.

I don't think they should give a 'younger appearance' to either Professor X or Magneto (with the exception of coloring his hair). Minus wrinkles (which Patrick Stewart appears to have none), they should look relatively the same 20 years prior.

I think the young Jean scene is gonna be awesome. I imagine it as a quite dark scene, with Professor and Magneto slowly getting into the house, then we see Jean's parents terrified, but the average movie goer still dont know why. Magneto could ask "whre is she?". Jean's mother, with a worried face, and shudering, says "she's...in that room. Please help us...help her..." Professor looks at the door. As it takes place in the seventies (probably), her parents could not be aware of the "mutation" issue, and treat it as if she was possessed. The canvas around her room are already messing, shaking, and when they open the door, you can see papers starting to fly, furniture shaking and all that jazz, while Jean is sat in the corner, afraid and almost crying...
i hope it starts like that :D

Very interesting. I like that. Too bad I can't change my vote.

thats how i think it should be similar...of course, Jean wouldnt be possessed, she would be rather afraid of herself and instantly accept Professor's help, still looking a cute troubled afraid little girl...
actually, the Exorcist lil girl could just be a mutant  and they were calling priests to her, while Proffy could resolve it all  she''s got a veeeeeeery weird mutation though...

y'know, after i read it twice, i thought it looked a lot like Scary Movie 2 :p
is it two or one that one in which everybody vomits on everybody?

sorry for double posting, but seriously, a girl with these kind of powers, in the seventies, would easily be considered under possession!!!!!!i would like if they slightly linked that, and not treat her as a normal mutant...

I'd want to see phoenix rising after Patrick Stewart's naration, but I think the flashback is a good way to start as well.

It was Scary Movie 2. The two priests and the possessed girl started vomiting on each other. And I had my mouth full of chicken when that scene came on. Ugh.
