They integrated it into that two-parter from the 90s animated series quite well, except they changed the gender of the kid.
Kid sidekicks are not always a good idea(see Robocop 3), but if you could work out a way for the kid to be involved in the plot as an active participant(like the cartoon version) as opposed to being kidnapped, it could be good. If they pulled that one off they would be selling more hankies in the cinema than at an ET porno.

I know, it would be very hard to get it right (and good) in the movie. Though, I'd love if it would be a stand-alone mini-film that could work as extra material for DVD's etc or something like that! :)

Yeah, you're right, it wouldn't be that much trouble, in comparison to usual spidey shooting, to get that one down in a ten/fifteen minute short. Just McGuire and a kid in a room talking and using footage from the previous films to illustrate his origins and escapades.

Kraven's Last Hunt would be so amazing on film. But they should add Lizard in it.

i prefer Enter Electro or whatever but they should make him look like Dr. Manhattan (not naked) covered in streams of electricity with a cool outfit. hey by the way who do u think would win Raiden? or Electro?.....FINISH HIM!!!

what about the lizard storyline Torment?

I never finished it, but I do remember I enjoyed it

The art was great but the story fell flat.

You talking about the video game?

You know, I just discovered how The Boy Who Collects Spider-Man would fit into a movie. However, it would be in a reboot.

It would fit awesomely well imo if it was included in the "Spider-Man - No More" story, where Spidey faces a danger he just can't handle and gives up to try to start a normal life instead. However, he reads in a paper about a boy who is the biggest Spider-Man fan around, and his biggest wish is to meet Spider-Man. Spidey goes to the kid's house and yeah, you know the rest. The whole scene would be very sad when you, the audience, realises by a close up of the paper, that the boy soon will die in a disease. After the touching meeting with the kid, Spider-Man is convinced to put the dress on again and defeat his enemy.

That would have been great imo!

and IMO, your 100% wrong...this would SUCK.

The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man?

I liked it,it was a pretty sad story. But NO WAY should it have influence on the movie.

so what are some of the better black cat story lines throughout the comics?

I'd love to see The Wedding of MJ and Peter Parker. No Brand New Day! Kraven's last hunt would be cool too.

On one hand, I'd kill to see Kraven's Last Hunt. On the other hand, SM3 was supposed to be the dark entry in the franchise and it wasnt all that successful at being dark. I like Sam's movies but I dont think he cant pull off darkness (in a Spidey film, anyway).

Ideally for me, SPIDER-MAN 4 will involve the Lizard and Kraven. The plot kind of writes itself in that regard - take the origin of the Lizard from AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #6 and tie the Lizard into Kraven comng to New York to prove himself the greatest hunter in the world from AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #15 (in this case by taking down the Lizard and Spider-Man) and it works great.

For further characterization of the villians I'd look at ULTIMATE MARVEL TEAM-UP #10 (written by Bendis) which is a great story showing the plight of pre-Lizard Curt Conners and of course the classic KRAVEN'S LAST HUNT (written by DeMatteis).

The trouble for me is working in a good Peter Parker story to go along with the Kraven-Lizard-Spidey plot. Anything that doesn't involve the whiny repetitiveness of Peter/MJ's relationship that was so apparent in SPIDER-MAN 3 would be nice.

Guys, knock it off. You both suck, ok?

Wow. Picking another fight. Why am I not surprised?

And I'd love to see "Coming Home" with Morlun.

Black Cat as the car jacker's daughter.
Kraven hunting Spider-Man
MJ going off to hollywood

A dark, gritty, Kraven hunting Spider-Man could be so amazing.

I didn't even think of that! That would be great! It would bring a lot of emotional depth to the movie.

^That's what I talked about before. If it wouldn't fit into the movie itself, I would love to see it as something like an extra mini-film or something for extra material. Anyway, I'd love to see it on screen.
