Indeed Kevin, no question because i will answer:

BRANDON ROUTH!

The torch has been passed! We all enjoyed Christopher, George, Dean and Tom, but now it's time to move on with Brandon!

Steve

How can Routh be better than Reeve?

How can the imitation be better than the real thing?

Routh is very good at what he does, but Tom Welling is the Superman of the 2000s.

Tom is only the Clark kent of the 2000's. From what Ive seen.
We'll never see him don the superman suit.

He's still playing Superman whether he wears the suit or not.

thats like saying...

Billy Dee williams played Two-Face in Batman ('89)

Chris Reeve will always be my Superman but Routh is a close 2nd.

Don't be silly. Billy Dee played the character of Harvey Dent before he became Two-Face.

Tom is clearly a grown man, not a teenager. His character in Smallville is only slightly different now to that of Superman. He just doesn't wear the suit yet.

Me.
Still the only Superman.

Christopher Reeve was a wonderful Superman in 1 wonderful movie and 3 horrible sequels. No matter what, though, I can always watch the 3 sequels just to see Chris' performance. Hopefully Donner's cut will fix the stigma of three horrible sequels and just make it 2 bad ones.

Brandon Routh would be my next choice, only because he's emulating Christopher's performance.

Tom Welling has yet to officially be Superman, so we'll see next season (7) when he puts on the suit.

Chris. I think, even 20 or 30 years from now, people will still think of him as Superman. Not only did he look like he stepped off of the page, but he worked really hard to captrue everything that he did in the comics to differentiate himself from Clark and Superman. The slouching. That was in the comics. They even had the heights which he slouched to, and Chris did that. To many, Chris just is Superman. I think when any other Superman actor dies, they wont be holding town vigils in the town that named itself Metropolis.

Christopher Reeve OWNED the role of Superman. No one has put across the "nature" of Superman like he did. He actually made you believe he cared, as a Superman really would.

I believe that Chris Reeves was the best. With that being said, I also feel that it's a generation thing. Our parents may say George was the best and our kids might go with Brandon Routh.

Superman was born in the comics and he stepped out of them in the form of one, Christopher Reeve. Yes, he brought the character to life and immortalized it . Look at some of his pictures at Capedwonder.com, the close-ups in particular, the broad jaw, the sharp handsome features and the illuminating smile, all of them the hallmark of a Superman,

Big Chris will never be surpassed and he will always be my Kal-el.

But I'm happy to see Brandon in the blue.I think he's a good choice.

Best Superman is Chris Reeve. Welling has the potential to be better but we'll never see it. Best all round would have be Dean Cain because he had the best material to work with in the first two seasons of Lois & Clark.

Tom Welling is pretty good, but sometimes he just doesn't get the right material to work with, even though they have some brilliant writers on Smallville. Dean Cain was alright...I mean, I liked him when I was young and the show first came on...but getting past the suit and watching the acting now really shows it's faults...George Reeve was an underrated Superman in my opinion...had he been alive in this generation, I think he would've made a pretty cool Superman, but in the 50's they just didn't have that much to give him, material-wise. Brandon Routh is our sort of, "2000s Christopher Reeve"...I would like to see him play something else to really judge his performance in Superman Returns...but As it stands now, I think he did an excellent job! And now to Christopher Reeve, the Superman that stepped out of the comic books. He will always be Superman to me, but I believe atleast most of the torch has been passed to Brandon Routh and Tom Welling.

Same here, by the way can anyone someone tell me what Kirk Allyn's Superman was like?

I had to vote for Reeve, but Welling is a close second for me.

My choice went to Christopher Reeve. He looks, sounds, and act likes he stepped out of the comics and potrayed the duel identity very well. :supes:

I like Chris' version of Superman better than anyone elses!! And Im a huge fan of Lois and Clark. And I enjoyed Superman returns (though it was irritating in parts.)

BUT Chris just made me believe he WAS Superman.

As for Clark, thats a different thing--I liked Dean's Clark best. (And this is coming from a die hard george reeves fan.) But Im open minded enough that when something or someone is better, I can see it.
