Comics All Star Superman or Kingdom Come (with poll)

I really can't decide myself, much like the Dark Knight Returns was for Batman they aren't true endings in the case of he dies or completely quits but they are very much finale stories for Superman in many ways. Which of these is your favourite ending story for Superman?

For me, anyway, "All Star Superman" takes it.

Both are really, really amazing. But, my vote went to All-Star Superman.

I love both, but Kingdom Come superman was a quitter. "oh noes, people prefer Magog's brand of justice, I should just stop being superman". Granted, he did redeem himself, but still.


All star superman was told he was gonna die, what did he decide? to accomplish miracles.

All-Star. It's pretty much my favorite comic ever, so KC didn't even stand a chance. That said, Kingdom Come is great, but it's not even my Mark Waid Superman Story of Choice (that would be Birthright).

I always said Kingdom Come was my favourite but every time I read All Star I fall in love more and more with it. Funny considering the first time I read the first volume I didn't like it.

These are probably my two favorite stories in all of graphic storytelling, but, if pressed, I would have to go with All-Star Superman. It is perhaps the best example in all of comics of Superman distilled to his utter essence. It perfectly captures the themes of isolation and loneliness that have so long been part of the character, as well as the incredible mythic scope of the character and the central theme of the great god trying to be man, and did it all bloody near perfectly.
