Who else felt they were in on the Christian Bale train early?

I loved American Psycho and Reign Of Fire when they first came out, and was one of the people who was like "damn, this guy should be batman" after seeing AP :o

The first time i saw Christian Bale was in American Psycho and i thought damn this guy could do a Bruce Wayne role justice, LOL guess I was right. Also the same thing happned with Memento I thought Chris Nolan would do a great job if directed a Batman film, which it did happen as well. When everything came together I was truly on cloud nine :woot:

Yeah...I remember seeing American Psycho and not even making the connection to Newsies, Little Women or Swing Kids from when I was younger. And...I sh** you not...not that any of you need to believe me or just take my word for it...but I told my friends...better yet, I made a prediction long before Batman Begins went into production and suggested that he'd be perfect for the part.

And you know what really tickled me is? when I was watching American Psycho there was this scene where those chicks were making fun of his surname Bateman or Batman, I was like yes thats right, thats absolutely what am thinking of girls, which was weird what happened after that as we all know. :yay:

the first thing i ever saw him in was american psycho, and honestly, that's the only movie his acting has ever wowed me in. don't get me wrong, he's a good actor and all, but not for all the credit people give him.

You watched Memento and thought of batman? :whatever:

You watched Memento and thought of batman? :whatever:

Yeah!!
Because I thought Christopher Nolan would deliver a good Batman film, the way he handled the main character in Memento was nothing short of pure brilliance and would bring Bruce Wayne to the audience in a way they have never seen him before, which proved to be a spot on wishful thinking :o

Can't argue with that. I always thought Kurt Wimmer would make a good batman

If American Psycho was the first movie of his that made you a fan, I don't think you can say you jumped on the Bale Train early.

I, like everyone else, saw that movie and thought he was great. But it's just that, everyone else saw it. So unless you had seen him before that and liked his performance, I don't think you should be claiming you found him before everyone else.

Also, I don't think anyone can claim they were on the 'Bale should be Batman Train' either. Because if American Psycho didn't lead you to that thought, then Equilibrium did.

I only thought of him in pulling off a Bruce Wayne role, as for being The Batman, hell Tim Burton brought in Michael Keaton and put him in a costume though he didn't have the physique to pull off a role like that, but with a body like Chris Bale and a good direction plus cinematography would definitely deliver. :cwink:

If the answer isn't I've liked him since Newsies, then yeah Psycho and after is all late.

bale is that kind of actor that needs to play a pissed guy. like batman, bateman.
bale is also a good badguy.

i want to see him in a movie where he plays someone different.

ohhh and by the way bale can kick everyones ass here. he is da badass.

I've been a fan since 2002 and since he's easily became my favorite actor

Is it really though? I mean until Batman he hasn't been in that many movies, I think if you liked him in Pyscho that counts as being on the train, cause that still is kind of his difnitive role

Sure...if you are a poser. :o

Newsies is where it's at.

You watched Memento and thought of batman? :whatever:
Hahaha

I remember when I first saw Schindler's List.
It was SO gripping.
I just kept thinking.
"OMG! Liam Neeson would make SUCH a good Ra's Al Guhl!"

"...and so, we present this lifetime acheivement as tragic mentor figures award to......Liam Neeson!"

I remember going to see ET when I was a wee one and I remember thinking, yeah that little Gertie is going to grow up and flash people her lovelies.

After American Psycho, It was impossible for me to forget him, even though the movie was rather poor, his performance was so SCARY, I couldn't get over it!! Glad to see his finally getting his praise, and he can't wait to see him win an Oscar some day.

Who thought that a hitchhiker in Fear And Loathing would ever turn into Spider-man

The first time i saw him was in Newsies when i was in kindergarten but that was waaaay back before i started caring about who was in what movie.

then, obviously empire of the sun was a great movie

then in 7th grade my mom rented this movie called All the Little Animals and i remember being so moved by his performance.

then american psycho comes out and i realize holy crap this guy is an amazing actor

Well I first saw Bale in Equilibrium back in 2003 or 2004. After that I became a fan and watched American Psycho, Mio min Mio, Shaft and Reign of Fire. I had seen A Midsummer Night's Dream and half of Velvet Goldmine before Equilibrium but didn't remember he was in those. And EQ was the one that made me a fan.

Not many people will admit to it, but I could've cared less about him prior to BB. In fact, while everyone was saying "BALE DAMNIT!" I was saying "BOREANAZ DAMNIT!" In fact, the movie that really impressed me with him was not BB (While he was an outstanding Batman) but one I saw recently, The Prestige. That is the first time I thought "Goddamn, this guy has a bright future"
