I love all the hints and homages and whatnot thrown into the episodes, that will go over the heads of the target audience, but many older fans will appreciate.

Wouldn't it be great if this could be the cartoon to finally at least homage Ditko's last great run on ASM, the Master Planner story with that infamous "weight of the world" segment? Hell, I've seen BATMAN BEYOND homage it. May as well let the ol' web slinger get it back.

That would be amazing, Dread! The Master Planner story is one of my favorite Spidey stories of all time.

Yeah, the mask was white with some cloth behind it, which would be really cool to see. I always found it cool how we really couldn't see the Big Mans' face at all except for his eyes.

Yeah, that's one of the things that will makes this show most likely the greatest Spidey show ever.

Foswell/Big Man in a way shows that it was kind of a blessing that Kingpin wasn't involved, because it forced the writers to go to another mobster type who hasn't been animated and can easily fill the role. Big Man predates ol' Fisk by about a decade or so, anyway.

And yeah, the Master Planner storyline was boss. Spider-Man practically lifting a building to save Aunt May when he desperately needed to is one of those moments that was cool on panel but animated with a proper score could be flippin' EPIC.

I mean, I seriously doubt the writers will be quick to kill off Gwen (I hope they aren't, actually; the poor girl is now defined only by death to the point that many forgot what a vibrant character she was), so they'll need some other stuff to do in the meanwhile, and that's always a doozy.

I like that Norman Osborn is a more willing participant in the organized crime biz here. I mean the 90's handled him brilliantly, but in the original material, Goblin WANTED to organize the underworld (for whatever reason), so this fits in with that.

I'm loving all the build up, too. Introducing characters and giving them back-stories before throwing them into the limelight, and even the D-list villains are getting this treatment. Characters like Rhino and Shocker being treated in the same tier as Kingpin and the Green Goblin in the comics...

...am I forgetting something...hmmm....the obligutory 'Venom' talk of my topic...ok, someone on page one mentioned how they hate how longtime Spidey fans who know everything about Spider-Man can't be truly surprised by any new developments. We know what's instore for Gwen and GG, Harry, Peter & MJ (unless Mephisto rears his ugly head), etc., but at least we got this incarnation of Eddie Brock & Venom...

None of us have any idea how things with Venom will develop. No matter how much of a guru you or I am with Brock, we can only wait on pins & needles to see what develops with Brock, the symbiote, and Venom. Yeah, we know that the symbiote will be rejected by Peter, and bond with a psychotic Eddie, but how does the symbiote come to Earth? How will it affect Peter? What makes Eddie snap and go angry? Will Venom's defeat be like SM:TAS where Eddie & the symbiote get separated (God, I hope not) or like the comics, where Eddie can't be separated from the symbiote and the two are taken into custody joined?

This show is jam-packed with stuff, and I am loving it. Is anybody else going gaga over how awesome this show is, and how they are setting the potential up for it to be great? I am!

Stan Lee and Steve Ditko should be proud.

i hope MJ doesnt show up for a few more episodes so that Pete and Gwen can sort things out and just become an item when MJ appears like in the comics, forcing Peter to kinda freak out because he's kinda with Gwen but theres this smoking hot fox wanting him too.

and regarding Spidey lifting the steel off him in Master Planner storyline. the best part comes after when Doc Ocks thugs come out and Petes to tired to fight so he just lays down and lets them beat on him while he regains his energy. although this spidey is a puss who can't handle Ox's bearhug so i doubt that will happen

I remember reading somewhere (think it might have been Comics Continuum) that the writers have a five year plan for the series should the show be picked up for that many series. So I think it's great we're getting so many hints at the future, I'm sure some will be picked up and others won't (even five seasons would only make the show 65 episodes long and that's hardly enough to cover all the different characters and villains) but still it's encouraging.

I still love the 90's Spider-Man cartoon more (except maybe the back end of season five) but that might just be because it was more my era. This is the second best Spider-Man toon I've ever seen and I've seen all of them, long may it live.
