It all began in the harsh winter of 1940, when a young colonel by the name of Nicolas Fury oversaw the birth of America's last line of defense - The Super Soldier. As a bi-product of the infant organization known as SHIELD, a young patriot was selected for the process that was hoped to generate an army of superhuman warriors that would steer the war out of Germany's hands. But instead of several, they only got one. And he would become the standard for which every follower would be judged upon.

Steve Rogers, the iconic hero during the Last Great War, practically willed the Allies to victory in World War II. Sadly, America lost it's symbol of freedom when their "Captain America" was murdered in his own home in nineteen-sixty-eight. Some suspected anti-war terrorists who opposed the Vietnam War, but the case was never solved. Cap's only family, his wife Gail and son James, were left to grieve and pick up the pieces of a shattered life. After a failed run to keep Roger's memory alive with a squadron called The Invaders, Nick Fury disbanded the team and disappeared, seemingly putting an end to his era of SHIELD.

The death of Captain America, on top of the war slipping away in Vietnam, left much of America weary and at a loss. But some bold visionaries stepped to the forefront to help their country out of it's dire position. Master inventor and business mogul Howard Stark came forward and offered his help. His company, the fast-rising Stark Industries, signed a extremely lucrative military contract to become the country's leading supply in the business of warfare. And the reason Stark Industries was chosen above the multitude of other was the Iron Men - robot soldiers equipped with the highest grade of combat systems that only Howard's genius could create.

In the early 1990's, Professor Charles Xavier was a prominent face on the political frontline in the growing mutant problem. A supporter of the Mutant Registration Act, Xavier was the strongest voice in getting the proposed MRA made into law. Sadly though, the Professor, who had spent his life working with mutants, died before seeing the Act come to pass. Xavier's one-time friend, Erik Lensherr, who was also the acts strongest opposition, went underground. Over the years the act has been enforced, Magneto has provided a safe haven for frightened and hunted mutants, and has been fighting a war with the US government that oppresses his people.

Now, The United States has decided to fight back. At the newly founded Xavier Institute, the government trains and teaches mutants how to use their powers safely and effectively. The mutants that show the most potential are then conscripted into The X-Men, the elite branch of mutant soldiers of the United States military. Among this battle also sees the return of SHIELD's forces, now renamed HAMMER and led by an eager young woman named Sharon Carter - Director 13. Their mission is one of grave importance, and may affect the history of the world itself: To return Captain America, one way or another.

With many heroes and villains on the rise, it is only a matter of time until the world will know how it feels... to look upon Marvels.

Welcome to All-Star Marvel! This RPG is based off of a player-created continuity, similar to Hype's Ultimate DC RPG. Outside of the above, and what the players themselves create, there is no pre-established continuity. As players, it will be your job to take the basic ideas and characters of the Marvel Universe, and accordingly, reinvent them into however you see fit. Though it is your choice of how drastic the alterations should be, you are free to customize everything from a character's origin to motivations, identity, mannerisms, costume, powers, and world. Let your imagination run wild.

To apply for a character, fill out the application supplied below. If your application is rejected, do not despair! Simply rework what the Gamemasters tell you is wrong with it, or in the case of multi-applications, choose another character. All players are welcome, regardless of membership status or postcount.

ASM3.png

* You may choose any character appearing in any strictly Marvel Universe (Ranging from 616, Ultimate, MC2, and others), and revamp them for All-Star continuity. Any character appearing outside of Marvel, such as DC or Amalgam characters, will not be applicable. Players are allowed two characters, with the option to play a third becoming available if they have proven themselves able to consistently post with their first two characters for at least 30 days.

* In the beginning, each and every character will be up for grabs. Multiple players will be allowed to apply for the same character, leaving the best application to be judged and approved by the Gamemasters. In order to be eligible, you must post your application within 12 hours after the first was submitted.

* You must post at least once every 30 days, though it is preferred you post more, or your character will be up-for-grabs. Failure to post after a month will result in removal from the roster. You can re-apply for the character, but you will have one "strike" against you. Once you reach three strikes, you will not be allowed to re-apply for said character.

*On a similar note, once your character's application is approved, you must post in the IC thread within three weeks of its approval, or the application will be considered null and void, and you will have to re-apply.

* PC's are not to be killed without permission. Nameless NPC's are fine, but PC's or important NPC's will require authorization. Don't do anything random, such as destroying the universe, either. Such behavior is frowned upon.

* Several storylines can be going on at once, in order to interact with other players. If a player's character does not want to be involved in another's storyline, they do not have to. Consultation and communication are the keys to a good PC-to-PC interaction.

* Legacy characters (IE: Sidekicks) will be required to be permitted by the player orchestrating the mentor's role in All-Star. For instance, if you want to play Patriot or Nomad, your acceptance will hinge on the player playing Captain America, and his thoughts.

* You can travel anywhere on Earth or off-planet, provided it is within your character's means. Time-travel is forbidden, unless it is specifically required of your character choice.

* You are your character, so act like them. Create or portray their mannerisms, powers, and ideals to how they have been established in the game. BE the character - do not, under any circumstances, play yourself as the character.

* Respect the Gamemasters. If they make a request of you regarding the game, listen to them. Failure to adhere to GM, AGM, and Hype! Moderator requests will result in expulsion from the game.

* Be creative, and do not be afraid to try new and exciting things with old concepts. This is a new continuity - the laws of the regular Marvel Universe are not set in stone.

* All regular Hype rules apply. And finally, the most important rule of all: Have fun. Never take the game too seriously, or you will have lost the point. Heated arguments between players can result in probations or infractions - do not ruin it for other players. It's only a game, people.

Character you would like to play: Captain America (James Buchanan Barnes, formerly James Steven Rogers)

Powers: Enhanced strength, agility, durability, longetivity (slower aging), tactically skilled mind and expert hand-to-hand combatant. The superhuman powers are heredity, so they're not as potent as generally portrayed.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): In the winter of 1945, James Rogers was born to America's greatest hero. The son of army veteran Steve Rogers and reporter Gail Richards, the infant was instantly christened as the nation's first son on account of his father's integral part in survivng the recently ended second World War. Called "Bucky" by Steve on account of his love for the Buck Rogers movie serials, the first few years of James' life were relatively pleasant. He and his mother would often attend social functions and charities with Steve, introducing James to a world no other child was ever quite familiar with - the world of real life superheroes. For a time, James adored his father, who finally retired his duties as 'Captain America' in the spring of 1957 to settle down and raise his son.

Then Vietnam came. Under intense military pressure, Rogers struggled with the decision to once again go to war and lead a batallion into the conflict between the Northern and Southern parties. Despite the decision never being quite made, word spread fast that Captain America would return, and some have since theorized that this contributed to the tragedy that would happen next. While negotiating his terms with government forces on the decision itself, Steve Rogers was assassinated by a sharpshooter's bullet. The country instantly mourned their fallen hero, but it was his family that was affected most. No one cried the hardest on that day than little James, who didn't know Rogers as "Cap"... just as his father.

Fearing a conspiracy as the battle in the war grew harsh, President Lyndon B. Johnson personally convinced Rogers' widow that she and her young son were not safe, and relocated them from Washington to Iowa under assumed aliases - They became Barnes family as a result, and quietly resumed their lives amongst their tragic circumstances. As Gail continued to age, it soon became apparent that her son would not, prompting her decision to keep the boy in private school and become a shut-in herself. By 1995, when James should have been 50 years old, he left home to finally start his life as a 21-year old college graduate. He married, then divorced, and moved to New York City within a five year period in the hopes of becoming a medical technician.

But even after all of his time in hiding, Barnes was being watched. Both by kindred spirits and a hostile threat. Isaiah Bradley, a top ranking member of the CIA, was personally overseeing a top-priority project called "Rebirth", designed to recreate the circumstances that gave birth to the original Captain America. Though it hadn't been immediately apparent, Bradley suspected and later confirmed that Rogers' son had carried his father's superhuman abilities through blood. Though his superiors wanted to use a sample of Barnes' blood to simply carry on the recreation of a super-soldier serum, Bradley saw potential in the (seemingly) young man. It wasn't until tragedy would later revisit the Rogers family that he was assured he could turn James into the successor to his father's mantle.

Gail Richards-Barnes, who was never one to leave her home, was instantly targeted by a rogue organization that had discovered the true location of the Rogers family. Before Bradley and his CIA superiors could warn Barnes of the impending attack, Gail was overpowered by a towering masked assassin calling himself Crossbones. Though he went in with the intention of a kill, the assassin allowed her to live in order to send a message to those who would discover her, choosing to instead inflict trauma that would induce the elderly woman into a comatose state. James, discovering what happened, angrily demanded answers from Bradley. The CIA agent revealed his true ties to an organization called HAMMER, and offered James a chance to face down the age-old organization that had been believed to have killed his father and attacked his mother - Hydra. After initial refusal, Barnes eventually turned around on his decision and agreed to become an operative for HAMMER until he could dismantle Hydra and prevent them from hurting his family again.

It has been three years since, and James Barnes has only recently completed an extensive training regimine. He is now a master hand-to-hand martial artist, an expert tactician, and the only man alive truly worthy of suceeding the late Steve Rogers as America's champion - The new Captain America.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Well, playing Captain America is a no-brainer. It was the idea of playing Bucky as Captain America that really got me interested, given how he's been portrayed in the recent years of Marvel. He's not as morally driven as Steve Rogers was, but he knows what it takes to keep from sullying the name. I also really liked the idea that transferring the mantle of Captain America is less about honoring what Steve Rogers did and more about carrying it as one's own, setting himself as the Cap of a brand new generation.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Well, obviously Steve Rogers never living past 1968 and Bucky taking on the role in the present comes with it's own set of changes - nevermind the fact that the two are now related by blood. The world doesn't really know if it wants another Captain America, and neither will James, who I'm portraying as someone haunted by the legacy of his father more than someone who outright embraces it. He's also going to be a very different kind of Cap, in that he takes the role as if he's an actual soldier more than someone who's above the fray, not concerned at all with setting a standard more than just succeeding the mission. It'd be an interesting dynamic to experiment with when The Avengers are eventually formed.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I can only explain what I hope to bring, which is a good reimagining of pretty much *the* face of true patriotism in comic books. Whether or not I actually succeed will be determined by my fellow players, aswell as the characters I interact with, since in esscence, both Bucky and I will be trying to do the same thing - living up to the legend of Captain America.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

I don't know what I'm doing here.

I mean, in the grand sense of things... I suppose I do. Director 13 called and said she wanted to see me regarding a matter of extreme urgence. I keep telling myself that if it's another debriefing on the struggle in the Middle East, I'm walking right out of the room. But I suppose that's the wrong way to look at it - people in that country are dying under a fascist regimine every day, and nobody's going to put a stop to it. I feel like I should be the one to take action - to take matters in my own hands, and show them the error of their ways.

Then another part of me remembers that it isn't my problem. That international peacekeeping tactics, wherever they are in the world, were never apart of my agreement with H.A.M.M.E.R. Unless they're being orchastrated by the same folks who killed my father... put my mother in that damn hospital bed that she hasn't been able to move out of in two years... I shouldn't be concerned.

So what's stopping me from saying that?

"Agent Barnes. Come in."

I quietly push myself up from the seat I've been hunched in for the last five minutes, muttering to myself after I realize it's been even longer than that. Director 13's easy ont the eyes, I'll give her that much... but her personable skills haven't always been the best. Guess running a multi-billion dollar government organization that shouldn't even exist can make a person a little out of touch with the rest of humanity. Then again, who am I to talk? Trapped in this oversized steel prison every waking moment for months at a time...

By the time I enter the room, my thoughts leave me as I see several people staring back at me. Among them is Director 13, Agent Bradley, and a couple of others I've seen before. The more prominent members of H.A.M.M.E.R., assembled all at once. Can't say I've ever seen that before.

Can't even take my eyes off of the crowd. "M'aam. You, uh-... you wanted to see me?"

Agent Bradley narrows his eyes.

"Today's the day, kid."

I raise my eyebrow. "What do you mean? What day?"

"The day we've been waiting for ever since you were brought to this facility."

Director 13 indicates one of the other agents - Wilson, I think, is his name - as he approaches me with a large metal briefcase. Hi-tech locks. Curiously, I take it from him, and open it. And I immediately understand, the moment that I see what's awaiting me inside.

"Oh."

I look back up to address the rest of the room, eyes widened. Visibly floored.

"That day."

Today's the day, alright.

The day I finally live up to my family's legacy, and do what many men before me failed to do.

Today's the day I become Captain America.

Character you would like to play: Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man

Powers: Spider-Man has the abilities of an arachnid-human hybrid, such as the ability to climb vertical surfaces through use of barb-like hairs on his fingertips and toes that act in the same manner as scopulae hairs on the ends of a spider's feet; the ability to lift objects 150 times his own body weight as well as leap several stories and run at superhuman speed for very brief sprints; the ability to weave organic webbing from spinnerets in his forearms, triggered by pressing his two middle fingers into his palm (Although Peter has yet to control the amount of webbing is dispersed when he triggers the spinnerets, so he has developed a pair of wrist mounted, web-dispensing units to help guide the webbing so as to release a precise amount of web until he can control it); 20/20 vision and the ability to see in the dark; and a precognitive, simultaneous and seemingly clairvoyant "spider-sense" that warns him of incoming danger as well as a variety of other phenomena, gives him a psychological awareness of his surroundings, and allows him to detect particular radio frequencies.

Aside from this abilities, Spider-Man's metabolic efficiency has been greatly increased, and his skeletal composition, connective tissues, muscles, nervous system and overall physiology have been completely enhanced. Thus allowing him to move with reflexes far greater than humans, even humans in peak physical condition.

His enhanced metabolism also allows him to heal faster than a normal human. He also has bodily tissue far more durable than previous, able to withstand blows that would normally injure a normal person.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point):

OsCorp.: Pioneers of the new decade. As a result of a joint venture between Roxxon Corporation and Osborn Industries, OsCorp quickly became a powerhouse in the weapons manufacturing industry, second to Stark Industries. Led by CEO Norman Virgil Osborn, they made great strides in working on experimental new miniature fuel-propelled aircrafts, as well as explosives and conventional arms. But whatever extra time and money they had leftover went to their Research Division, which mainly focused in genetics and physics. Their task? Developing physiology enhancing drugs for the military, particularly the same one used on Steve Rogers, to turn their soldiers into the next generation of Captain Americas.

Enter Richard and Mary Parker. Gifted scientists and loyal OsCorp. employees given the task of directing the project of developing the serum. And after years and years of trial and error, they finally had their first success. During those years, however, they gave birth to a child. A son. One who would change the world. A future marvel...

His name was Peter. Peter Parker.

Richard and Mary loved their little boy with all their heart. But fate had different plans in store.

Realising Norman Osborn's true motives to sell the serum under the table to terrorists willing to pay the high price, Richard and Mary refused to give him the replicant formula for mass production. Something of which angered Norman enough to threaten the life of their little boy.

Not wanting to see thir son hurt, the Parkers agreed to give Norman the formula. However, not wanting to give him the real one, they gave him a fake one at the last minute. One that, when Norman tested it on himself, it made him lose his sanity and kill Peter's parents in a berserk rage. After the murders however, Norman regained control of his senses enough to end his frenzy. A few days later, the effects of the drug wore off, seemingly dissapated from Norman's blood, but unbeknownst to him, a second personality took over that night. One that continues to lay dormant inside him... Waiting for it's chance to take over. In the meantime, Norman cleaned up his mess and made sure noone would find out what he did.

Peter was 3 years old when his parents were killed. He doesn't remember much, but that was when he was sent to live with his Aunt and Uncle, Ben and May Parker, in their quiet suburban home in Queens. From that day forward, they loved and raised him as their own, instilling in him the sense of responsibility and morals that would forge him into the man he's destined to become...

13 years later, it's almost the year 2010, and Peter Parker's was just starting his junior year at Midtown High School. But, like every year before it, he's always being picked on by bullies Kenny McFarlane, Max Dillon, and, more prominently, his former friend Eugene "Flash" Thompson. Mostly because of his tiny stature and for being the class nerd. Not to mention being berated daily by his abusive girlfriend Sally Avril. Yep. Things were shaping up pretty well for Peter Parker. But that was when things started to take a turn for the worst...

OsCorp., still looking to create a perfect replicant super soldier drug, hired scientists Mendell Stromm and Miles Warren to replace the Parkers as head of the project, and started experimenting their formulas on animals, from monkeys, to lizards, to bees to spiders. But when Peter's class was visiting OsCorp and getting a tour from Norman Osborn himself when one of those very spiders got loose. And it managed to find itself on the hand of a certain nerd. One that ended up provoking it into biting him, changing his life forever.

Peter fainted while the genetically altered venom coursed through his veins, the retro virus it contained bonding to his DNA. Thus granting him various abilities of a spider, for Peter was now half man, half arachnid. But Peter was clueless as to what to do with these powers, so he just continued to live his life as normal.

Hoping to earn a few bucks to buy a car to impress the love of his life... Not Sally, but rather Mary Jane Watson, the girl next door; Peter got a job at the local Burger Frog. His first week didn't go so well though, despite him using his abilities to do well. So, after getting a ride from his Uncle Ben, who reminded him that with great power comes great responsibility, he walked in only to be fired on the spot by his unreasonable manager. Angry, Peter went to the bathroom to change out of his uniform. When he was finished, he exited the restroom to see a robber running off with all the money in the restaurant. As he headed for the door, the manager screamed for Peter to stop him, and with his powers, he could have. But, wanting his revenge for losing his job, Peter let him go. And he did it with a smile.

Karma had it's way with Peter that night, however, as he walked out of the restaurant and to see a crowd of people and police officers all gathered around. Wondering what the commotion was about, he looked to see his beloved Uncle Ben in the center of the crowd, bleeding to death from a gunshot wound. Crying, he sat there beside him as his uncle took his final breath...

The police briefed Peter on what happened, telling him that his uncle was shot by the very same man who robbed the Burger Frog prior, before taking his car to get away.

Looking for blood, Peter then took the Burger Frog uniform and cut a makeshift mask out of it, and donned it to go after the killer. Following his uncle's car, he travelled by use of his weblines, swinging from them like they were ropes. He finally cornered the shooter in an abandoned warehouse, and as he was about to throw him out of a window, he remembered his Uncle's final words, and left him for the cops instead.

Six months later, it's 2010, and Peter Parker now lives by his Uncle Ben's motto: "With Great Power comes Great Responsibilty", and he fights crime as a vigilante. But not just any vigilante. He's your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Spider-Man is a character that, like almost everyone else here, I'm a huge fan of and have been for a long time. I've been wating to play him for a long time now, and since I missed my chance to apply for him in OU during my absence at that time, I've been witing for the oppurtunity to play him. Maybe I'll get that chance here, maybe not... But either way, I'm not letting another oppurtunity slip away from my grasp, so here I am.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): As for portrayal of the character, nothing not seen in other forms of Spider-Man related media, but his origin is altered quite a bit. First off, Mary and Richard Parker were scientists for OsCorp. rather than spies. Secondly, they were killed by Norman Osborn, something I came up with when I was coming up with ideas to increase the intense hatred that Peter and Norman already share, creating a new dynamic between the archenemies. Also, rather than the popular wrestling part of the origin that led to Ben Parker's murder, I decided to change it to Peter working for the Burger Frog, a concept lifted from the Post-Ultimatum Ultimate Spider-Man comics. Lastly, his powerset is inspired by the films, because frankly I'm a fan of the organic webbing (not to mention, it's not like organic webbing doesn't come with as many problems as the webshooters did). Thus, this version is going to be a fitting combination of the comics, the films, Spectacular, and Ultimate as well as my own spin on his origin.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I have reasonable to vast knowledge of Marvel and Spider-Man particularly, and have portrayed the Ultimate version of the character on two occasions prior, so I can bring posts that are true to the character as well as bringing a modern and refreshing take on his world and supporting cast/villains; Something playing the Ultimate version required. I also have experience in RPing in general and can make sure a post of length is up before two weeks have past from the previous post, so I'd like to say I can bring a steady flow of posting for this character as well and the RPG as a whole, especially if in a multi-player arc.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

I really hope this goes well. My first bad-guy beatdown... Since chasing down my uncle's killer that is. Although, I don't know why it wouldn't. The costume's finished, despite the slight itching. My Camera-phone's in place, ready to record the footage. The web dispensing unit's are mounted and ready. I did my stretches to make sure I was limber enough to pull this off, and I memorized the entire list of quips I spent all last night working on.

...What? I like to be prepared.

Oh yeah. Where are my manners? My name's Peter. Peter Parker. And I'm insane. I must be... Because here I am, in a dark and dirty warehouse, clinging to the ceiling about to tangle with the Kingpin's men. All this while the Mets game is on, no less.

Who is the Kingpin, you ask? Why, he's only the biggest crime boss in the enitre state of New York. But don't bother asking me who he is... I couldn't tell you. Nobody could. Noone knows who he is. Not even the cops. FBI either... He's a really elusive guy. But that doesn't mean he doesn't know what goes one in his organization. Which is why I'm here. To send a message that there's a new vigilante in town. If you can even call me that. I don't consider myself a vigilante. Rather a 'Comedic Crime-stopper', but hey. Diff'rent strokes, diff'rent folks I guess.

"Hurry up and get this s*** on the truck, Clem!"

"Yes, sir..." he muttered.

Great. I think I found our weakest link here. If there's one thing I know, it's always go after the small fry first, and save the big fish for last.

...Or was it the other way around?

Either way, I had a plan and I'm sticking to it... No pun intended. But first...

"Uncle Ben? It's me, Peter. I'm using my powers responsibly. See? But just in case... I hope you'll keep an eye out for me... Help me get through this. Cuz we both know how Aunt May freaks out if I come home with more than a scratch. Imagine how she'll react if I come home in a stretcher..." I silently prayed, laughing a little.

"I'll never forget what you told me, Uncle Ben. Ever. From now on, I'm living by those words. With great power, comes great responsibility... Thank you, Uncle Ben. For everything. Even though you're gone, I'll always have you with me. In here..." I finished as I put my fist to my heart, before finally pulling my new mask over my head, and took aim.

THWIP!

"What the-- AAAAHHH!!" Clem screamed as I yanked him up towards the ceiling and webbed him up to a girder.

"Clem? CLEM!"

"Holy crap, he's up there!"

"What is that?"

"Does it matter? SHOOT IT!"

The two henchmen pulled out their automatics and opened fire, which sent my spider-sense for a loop. Quickly I crawled away from their fire and back into the shadows.

"Where did it go?"

"I dunno..."

"HEY! Whatever you are, why don't you come down here and fight like a man!"

"Bad guys. Always wanting me to come to them..." I muttered as I came out of the shadows and quickly fired three new webs, all aimed for their guns.

THWIP! THWIP! THWIP!

"I don't suppose I could convince you to come up here and fight like a spider?"

Yanking the guns from there hands, I used my strength to break all of them in half.

"Ah what the heck? I'll humor you..."

Jumping down from the ceiling, I vaulted off the ringleaders head and plowed my foot into one of his cohort's faces. Then I proceeded to yank the other one with my webbing towards me, punching him in the temple as he got close enough. Finally, I webbed up the leader's ankles and began to spin around on my heel, letting the centrifugal force of the spin send him reeling into the nearest crate.

"Hmm... Should I leave a note or something?" I asked myself, surveying my work. I guess I could. I could even sign it "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!"

"...Nah. Too 60's." I said as I pulled my Camera-phone down from the ceiling with a webline.

"I'll just post this on YouTube instead..."

Character you would like to play: Peter Parker, (soon to be) aka The Amazing Spider-Man

Powers:

His genetic code drastically re-written, Parker’s muscles and tendons have increased in density and tension, granting him super-human strength that would easily rival the military’s Super Soldier from the Second World War, as well as speed and agility that would put even Captain America to shame. On top of that, his hands and feet have grown tiny retractable scopula pads, microscopic hairs that allow him to cling to virtually any surface via the van der Waals Effect. He is extremely sensitive to sudden vibrations in the air around him, which, combined with a dramatically increased reaction time, results in a ‘spider-sense’ that allows him to detect virtually any oncoming danger.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point):

Peter Parker never knew his real parents: his mother died from complications in childbirth, and his grief-stricken father in an alcohol-fuelled car accident days later. Instead, Peter was raised by his uncle Ben Parker and his aunt May in a relatively peaceful neighborhood in Brooklyn. Although they could never really replace his birth parents (at least in their minds), they did their best with him--Aunt May doted on him and Uncle Ben did what he could to teach him right from wrong. Peter never went hungry a day in his life--although Uncle Ben often would so his nephew wouldn’t have to. They did everything they could to raise the boy right, nearly losing the house in order to pay the extra money to have Peter enrolled in advanced classes in school.

Throughout school, he was always exceptionally bright, which led to him getting routinely bullied by a never-ending line of meat-heads who felt the need to compensate for their own stupidity by bringing him down. Always friendly but never popular, Peter never had much of a life outside of school, only really ever associating with childhood friend Eddie Brock, study-mate Harry Osborn, and the only person in the advanced-placement classes who routinely outscored him, Gwen Stacy. The four of them formed an odd but loyal clique throughout grade school and junior high, which broke when Harry’s father Norman took him out of public school to study abroad. The remaining three stayed close to each other, with Eddie acting as the surrogate big-brother to defend his nerdy little friends from the wilderness of the New York public education system. Peter’s complete lack of social status was sealed for good upon entering high school, after Eddie joined the football team, leaving Peter to fend for himself against the likes of Flash Thompson and Mary Jane Watson.

Halfway through freshman year, Peter’s class went on a fieldtrip to OsCorp, the massive technological firm owned by Norman Osborn. While touring the lab of the extremely gifted geneticist Curt Connors, Parker was bitten by an oddly-colored spider, and passed out. After spending a few days too sick to go to school, Peter awoke feeling better than he’d ever felt before.

Unbeknownst to him, the spider that had bitten him was an experimental test subject, its entire body swimming with an OsCorp formula designated SSM-AF15. This was one of dozens of different attempts by OsCorp (being privately funded from an anonymous donor) to re-create the military’s Super-Soldier serum from World War II. Never meant to be the final product, this formula was only part way through its development, prone to what Dr. Connors referred to as "DNA Reflux," wherein the serum’s first host would bestow its own properties on top of the initial formula. In addition to the physical enhancements from the OsCorp Super-Soldier formula, the spider that bit Peter Parker also passed on many of its own unique traits.

Suddenly faster and stronger than he ever was before, as well as able to cling to walls and react instantly to danger, Peter spent his summer seeking all kinds of thrills, pulling all sorts of dangerous stunts, and always just narrowly avoiding arrest. He didn’t spend nearly as much time at home with Aunt May and Uncle Ben, or talking to Gwen over the internet, growing more and more distant from the people who cared for him as the months went by. At the time, though, it didn’t matter--Peter was having the ride of his life.

That ride would come to a crashing halt not long after the beginning of his sophomore year. While Peter was out running from the Watson family’s watchdogs after peeping on a slumber party at Mary Jane’s, a pair of armed thugs broke into the Parkers’ house. They ransacked the entire place, emptying it of anything even remotely resembling something valuable…but not before gunning down Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Peter returned home to a nightmare, the house he had grown up in wrecked and ruined, and the people who had raised him murdered.

At what was easily the lowest point in Peter Parker’s entire life, an unlikely source extended a charitable hand: Norman Osborn. Ostensibly due to Peter’s lifelong friendship with Harry, Norman offered to take Peter in as his adopted ward. With nowhere else to go, Peter agreed. Although the Osborn family gave him luxuries and advantages that Uncle Ben and Aunt May never could, Peter could never find himself really at home there, and would sneak away whenever he could, either to meet up with his old childhood friend Gwen…

…or to vent his pent-up anger on the unsuspecting thugs of New York.

Not long after his aunt and uncle’s murder, he began using his powers to hunt down various small-time crooks and gangsters in the city, then beat them to a bloody pulp. Stories began to circulate regarding a ‘human spider’ vigilante in the area--although what with other world-shaking events grabbing the headlines, all of the tabloid pieces about Parker’s exploits were relegated to the back pages of the Daily Bugle.

It’s been roughly a year since Aunt May and Uncle Ben were killed, and Peter Parker is still a lost and angry teenager, lashing out with his powers to prey on those who deserve it. While the rest of the world might not notice, the chain of ‘spider-man’ attacks are starting to catch the eyes of some very important people, both in the criminal underworld…and in much higher places…

Why Have You Chosen That Character:

Like every single other person applying for him, I always identified with Spidey more than any other superhero. Growing up, he was always my favorite hero, and even though my tastes have shifted more to DC, if there’s one character that will bring me back to the Marvel side, it’s the wall-crawler.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?):

For starters, what with both his parental figures being dead and having to deal with the whole ‘creepy foster father’ thing, your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man isn’t going to be all that friendly when we first meet him. Don’t get me wrong; I’m absolutely not going to have him be some mirthless ‘dark and gritty’ Spidey--that would be awful. He’s just a confused and mad-at-the-world kid who hasn’t quite found his muse yet.

The first few big arcs I plan on doing with him both will and won’t be his "origin" story, in that he will have already had his powers for a good while, but throughout the season, he’ll really and truly become Spider-Man.

I have a whole hell of a lot in mind for the supporting cast, most especially Gwen, Harry, and MJ. I don’t wanna give too much away though.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring With This RPG (As a player): I have a knack for high-stakes, twist-laden storytelling that I think will really fit the All-Star Marvel universe well, and a genuine love for the character. I also think I’ll be able to bring some witty Spidey banter like nobody’s business.

Please provide a sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

Picture you’re on a roller coaster, the best roller coaster you’ve ever ridden in your life. It dips, it dives, it corkscrews and loops the loop, it has you screaming your lungs out and begging for more. Now picture that there’s no track. Now picture that you and you alone are pointing where the roller coaster goes, and that the slightest mistake will see you splattered on the ground a few stories below.

That’s about the best way I can describe what it’s like to hurdle from building to building through the streets of Brooklyn, wheeling through the air like a human cannonball, before tumbling onto the next rooftop or snagging onto a nearby wall. I always wished I was athletic enough to do that free-running stuff that I used to look up on YouTube, but this….this makes those guys look like a bunch of old folks on walkers. It’s all I can do to not whoop and wail like a moron as I get in a really good leap that sends me sailing clear across the street and almost all the way over the next building as well. I know there are other guys out there who can fly, or who can run really fast, but I’ll take this any day. It’s like my own little extreme sport than only I can do.

And frankly, I need this. Long day at school. Fell asleep in class because I was out all last night doing…well, this. Flash was nice enough to wake me up with a football to the back of the head, and the teacher decided that detention was just too cruel a punishment for him--I’m sure the fact that the homecoming game is this weekend had nothing to do with the fact that the golden QB got off scot-free.

There’s a scream about half a block away, and I high-tail it to the source. Two hoods holding a woman at gunpoint. I really don’t like hoods with guns. I leap down behind one of them, unnoticed, then jump onto his back. Rather than do the embarrassing thing where you wrap your arms and legs around the guy and hold on for dear life, I clamp both of my hands on his shoulders, placing both of my knees into his lower back. Off-balance, the hood falls back, and there’s a noticeable crack as my knees drive right into his spine. Now it’s not the woman who’s screaming.
I roll the would-be robber off, then focus on his friend, who’s shaking like a leaf.

"Y’know, I’m starting to think these Do-it-Yourself Chiropractic books I ordered aren’t all they’re cracked up to be," I say, motioning to the crippled thug on the ground. "But I guess you don’t really get all that good at it unless you do it a lot. So whaddya say? Wanna help me practice?"

Underneath my mask, I start to grin. Like I said, I really need this.

Character you would like to play: Spider-Man, Peter Benjamin Parker

Powers: : Genius level intellect, ability to stick to most surfaces due to fibrous microscopic hairs covering his body, superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, and durability. Due to his increased metabolism he has an accelerated healing factor. He also possesses a limited precognitive ability allowing him to see seconds into the future when danger is present (spider-sense).

Basic history of the character (Up until this point):
Born to Mary and Richard Parker, Peter spent the youngest years of his life growing up in the Bronx. One day, at age five, Peter’s parents left him with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May in Queens to keep watch him while they went to a business meeting in California to discuss a new genetics project Richard was presenting for Trask Enterprises. A few days later, May received a phone call that the Peter’s parents had died in a freak plane crash. Her ever loving spirit, May proposed raising Peter as their own child to her husband. Ben agreed, and the two adopted Peter.

Nine years later, Peter began attending Midtown High School. An awkward teen, he was shunned from the popular crowd and soon became an outcast. He did find companionship with Gwen Stacy and Ollie Osnick, forming a close inner circle with them. However, Peter still could not completely understand the social game of life and decided to cling to the one thing that made sense to him; science. He studied hard, using his own determination coupled with the intellect he inherited from his father to move to the top of the class, gaining accolades, scholarships, and other prestigious awards.

In his junior year, Peter went on a class trip to Empire State University to view the newest research being engineered by their top scientists; Miles Warren and Curt Conners. For two years the men had been working hard on a controversial series of experiments labeled the Chimera Project, chemically altering the DNA of animals and modifying them to make new species or unlock hidden potentials hidden inside the genetic codes.
As the two scientists gave the class a tour of their laboratory, they showcased the many display cases of the organisms they had labored to create. Bored by the field trip, Flash Thompson began picking on Peter. Reaching his breaking point, Peter lashed out, shouting at Flash to stop. Amused, Flash told Peter to relax, pushing him forcefully. Peter lost his balance and fell backward into a display case full of the genetically altered spiders. Feeling threatened and perhaps startled by the incident, the spiders bit Peter, injecting him with their irradiated and chemically altered venom.

Peter was instantly rushed to the hospital where he remained for six days, lying in an unresponsive coma. His aunt and uncle worried sick as they dreamed at the prospect of losing yet another member of their family. Miraculously, Peter came to on the seventh day, and progressively his health improved over the remaining week until the doctors found no reason to keep him any longer. Peter thought he had finally returned to normal. But, unknown to Peter, this was only the beginning.

As the days went by, Peter began noticing strange occurrences happening to him physically. His muscles began to grow, first toning and then enlarging in size. Though still small, he felt his muscles strengthening, his power becoming more prominent. As the days would pass, he noticed his eye sight improve, causing him to no longer require glasses. Peter thought of the changes as simply being a part of puberty until one day when he woke up stuck to his bed sheets. As he tore the cloth from his body, he noticed small pieces of fabric still clung tightly to his skin. Odd as it was, Peter truly didn’t believe in his transformation until one day during gym, Flash threw a football toward the back of his head. Peter felt a strange pang of pain in his head, causing him to drop to the ground, allowing the football to fly over his head with seconds to spare.

These and many more instances continued, events proving his new reflexes, agility, stamina, and strength. Before long, Peter realized these could no longer be coincidences. He examined his blood under the microscope in his science lab at school and found that his blood had changed, no longer resembling that of a normal human. Logically, the only possibility he could deduce would be the spider bites he sustained at ESU weeks before.

In the coming week, Peter did everything he could to test his limits. Jumping, sprinting, lifting, and even testing his wall crawling ability and precognitive powers in dangerous situations to find what he was truly made of. Satisfied and proud, Peter developed a new found confidence that carried with him everywhere he went. Gaining more attention at school, he used every instance he could to show off his new body, strength, and skill. As the power began going to his head, he started neglecting his household responsibilities more and more, slacking even in his studies as he did all he could to find attention from the popular
crowd.

The few friends he’d had for years began to worry about him, fearing he’d turned to drugs. Peter neglected their advice, only seeking to gain more attention – more of the one thing he never had. As his attempts at gaining entry to the ‘in’ crowd at school continually met him with resistance, he decided to try public fame. He donned a revealing skin tight suit and flashy mask. Joining a fighting league in Manhattan, he began entering into cage matches with men three times his size. Despite the way the odds looked, he always came out on top – winning match after match and gaining the love and admiration of the loyal fans only wishing to see a good fight. They dubbed him ‘Spider-Man’, giving him the attention he finally wanted.
One day, Uncle Ben was contacted by Trask Enterprises and asked to come to their local facility stationed in Long Island to review the just now declassified information pertaining to his brother and sister-in-law’s death. Peter eagerly asked to come, but Ben had to refuse. The man from Trask Enterprises made it clear no guests were allowed to accompany him.

The next night, while Ben was still away, Peter asked Aunt May if he could go out to see his friends, intending to return to the fighting arena instead. She told him she wanted him there that evening, explaining how dangerous the city was at night and how, without Ben, she’d feel best if he just stayed with her. “You’re the man of the house while your Uncle’s gone, dear.” She told him. “That’s a lot of power, and with great power must also come great responsibility.” Unwilling to listen, Peter stormed off to his room, grumbling as he went. He didn’t hear her as she whispered she loved him as he slammed the door. Two hours later, Peter put on his suit and leaped out the window of his room, heading for the arena to his ‘adoring fans’.

That night, after the fight, he spoke to one of the fighters in the back room as the arena was clearing out. The fighter, Crusher Hogan, told Peter how the fight that night was going to earn him some big money – thanks to the live broadcast to a paper view audience. Peter explained how he hadn’t been told about a salary, and immediately, he went to the manager’s office to complain. There, the manager told Peter he wouldn’t pay a man in a mask, saying if he wants to remain faceless he’ll remain penniless as well.
Peter left the office in a fury, completely enraged at the man’s behavior. It reminded him of his high school experiences; excluded from something once again. Just then, he heard the manager shout out; turning around to see what had happened, he saw a man run out of the office carrying a large bag in one arm and a gun in the other. The manager yelled out, “Stop him, he’s got my money!” But Peter stepped aside, allowing the man to escape down a flight of stairs and out into the dark night. The manager asked him why he’d let him go, and Peter smugly replied ‘maybe he’d think about that next time he decided to screw someone out of a paycheck.’

Returning to his home (now dressed in civilian attire), Peter found it surrounded by police cars and an ambulance. He ran up to one of the officers and asked what had happened as the ambulance pulled away, sirens shrieking loudly. The officer told him his house had been robbed and his aunt was killed during the incident. He then told Peter not to worry, that they had a squad car pursuing the killer, trapping him in a warehouse by the docks.

In a mad fury, Peter headed for the warehouse, clothed in his Spider-Man costume and out for vengeance. Later, as he arrived at the docks he singled out the warehouse by the obvious marker of squad cars parked outside. He entered the building and found the killer inside. Peter fought the man, disarming him of his gun and knocking him around as he shouted a string of hate filled words toward him. Finally, Peter ripped off the ski mask of the murderer, wanting to see the true face of the cowardous killer. To his shock, he discovered it was the same man who he’d let go at the arena only hours before. If only he’d stopped him then – if only he did what he knew he should’ve done.

Days later, after Ben returned from the trip, he was informed of the death and Peter and his Uncle mourned together. Humbled by the experience, Peter found his pride was his downfall – ultimately leading to his Aunt’s murder. As Uncle Ben and he talked over the coming days, Ben explained to Peter that some people have no regard for others, and only wish to fulfill their selfish desires. He told him the same thing his Aunt did the night before she died. “With great power, must come great responsibility.”

Understanding what his Aunt meant, he realized what he had to do to make amends for his selfish desires. He decided that he’d take his Spider-Man persona and change it into something different, something profound. He’d become a hero, saving and protecting lives, and hoping to never let anyone else experience the pain and loss he had to endure.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?:
Spider-Man is one of my favorite characters, and definently, the one with which I most relate. During my High School career, I often had events occur which would remind me of something that could or would have happened to Peter. Teenage heroes are the most interesting to me and maybe the ones whose stories come to me most easily.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Peter will be a teenager beginning his senior year at Midtown High. In addition, the mystery behind his parent’s death and the project his father was working on will be a plot point as well as the variation of Aunt May dying instead of Uncle Ben.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I hope to bring a fresh look at Spider-Man while retaining the core principles of his character and of the mythos. I plan to write interesting plotlines, have much character interaction with others, and provide a detailed story for Peter and all of his supporting cast.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

“Come here, little spider, I want to play!” He cackles in a deep voice, the familiar sound of his haunting laugh causing my body to shake. He throws an orange pumpkin toward my head, causing my brain to throb painfully as my spider-sense goes wild. I better move – NOW. Narrowly dodging the orb, I leap to the nearby wall and brace myself as it suddenly explodes, sending smoke and shrapnel into the air.

untitled-37-1.jpg

“You’ve got bombs shaped like pumpkins now?” I ask as I shoot a thin line of web into the air, leaping forward and swinging toward my foe. “What, did you rob a Halloween store on your way here?” Letting go of my web, I leap toward him foot first, hoping to land a kick against his creepy, toothy smile.

“Ah. Ah. Ah.” He says, waving his finger back and forth as his glider quickly rises vertically, causing my attack to miss by a long shot. “No rough housing in doors.” As I land on a pillar at the center of the mall, I turn quickly to see him reaching into the satchel around his shoulder. He pulls out three sharp pieces of metal shaped like bats and hurls them toward me, wildly laughing as he does it.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” I shout as I jump into the air to evade the deadly blades. I send out a web-line to stabilize myself, pulling back on it to keep myself from smashing into the floor below. At this point in time, you may be asking why exactly I’m swinging around a mall fighting a psycho dressed up like a green goblin hurling all kinds of October themed weaponry at me. The answer's simple, really. My life sucks.

Ten minutes ago I was here with my friends Gwen Stacy and Ollie Osnick just looking to chill out and enjoy a quiet, peaceful Saturday afternoon. That’s right about the time this crazed fruit loop decided to blow a hole in the ceiling and cause mass mayhem and public hysteria. Why? Well, I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure it's because he wants to kill me. “Come on, Gobby, isn’t there some other hero you could torment today? I think Daredevil’s got some spare time – go bother him.”
“Oh, Spider-Man, always the thoughtful hero. Always thinking of others before himself.” He grins, hurling another razor bat toward my neck. “You remember the last time we fought, right? How you interrupted my theft of the new generator from Stark Industries? All I could think about since then was getting a chance to break your scrawny little neck. So, no. The only person I want today, Spider, is YOU!” I hate it when I'm right.
“Well lucky me!" Flipping through the air, I allow the razor bat to zip by my body, barely missing me as it moves past. “Good shot there, green bean. Who taught you how to throw? Mr. Magoo?” As I smile proudly beneath my mask, a voice cries out in a shriek of warning.

“Spider-Man!” I hear it say. I turn instantly to see Gwen Stacy shouting in the middle of the lobby toward me. “Look out!” My spider-sense flairs and I spin without thinking, praying the next thing I feel isn’t something sharp. To my surprise, I see the same razor bat fly past my eyes and back into the hand of the Goblin.
“They’re boomerangs now?” I ask, my voice cracking slightly.

“Aw, now that’s not fair.” He says with a frown. “I guess your friend doesn’t understand the rules of the game.” The Goblin leans forward on his glider, causing a thick stream of smoke to escape from the rear thruster. He soars past me, causing me to spin erratically on my web-line. “I guess I’ll have to teach her how, won’t I? HAHAHAHAHAHA!” I watch as he closes in on her, the look of sheer terror in her eyes as she screams out a blood curdling cry.
“NO!!” I shout, sending a web-line toward him. “Run, Gwen. RUN!”

Man, this is gonna be a regular battle royale over Spidey, ain't it?

Forget what I said in the Application thread about Moon Knight. When I actually sat down to write the application, I realized that I wasn't as excited about him as I should be. Working on some other options right now.

Character you would like to play:
Matt Murdock/The Devil of Hell's Kitchen

Powers: None. Although Matt is adept in many forms of self-defense taught to him by Stick, a Hell's Kitchen karate master.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Born in Hell's Kitchen, Matthew Murdock grew up the son of legendary boxer Jack Murdock and former ring girl Grace Murdock. Matt was born blind, and struggled early on to adapt to the world. A local blind man, known only as Stick, took Matt under his wing and showed Matt not only how to thrive in the seeing world, but to defend himself. During his childhood, he was easily goaded by friends and classmates into performing stunts, earning him the nickname of "Daredevil".

When Matt was 15, trouble struck the Murdock house when Jack refused to throw a fixed fight. Local hood Roscoe "The Fixer" Sweeney dispatched his men to the Murdock house, where Matt was tortured and Grace Murdock was gunned down. From then on, Jack threw the fights the Fixer asked him to, and Matt was emotionally scared for the rest of his life.

Both Murdock men took Grace's death in different ways. Jack became more engrossed in his fighting career, while Matt began to seek justice. As Jack started to slowly climb the rungs of the fighting world ladder, Matt graduated from high school and enrolled at Columbia University.

June 16th, 2007 was the day of penance for the Murdock men. As Matt graduated from Columbia Law School that afternoon, Jack was poised to fight for the Heavyweight Championship that night.

Unbeknown to his father, Matt skipped the prime-time fight that night. He headed to the Hell's Kitchen gym owned by The Fixer and killed him. Around the same time Matt was getting justice, his father was sent sprawling to the canvas floor where he died. Jack Murdock had taken one concussion too many.

Now, Matt works as a partner in Nelson & Murdock Law Firm with college friend Foggy Nelson. During the nights, Matt seeks out those who wish to seek justice and accepts them into his secret order. He is the guardian of Hell's Kitchen. Its Guardian Devil.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Daredevil is one of my all time favorite characters, and I have a pretty cool idea for him (thanks to MB's help)

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): First off, Matt is blind from birth and doesn't have powers. He gets by on his sheer will. Also, his quest is more for his mother than his father. She is the one he seeks out justice for. The big change is Daredevil. While he still protects as the devil, he is the leader of The Devils a group that protects Hell's Kitchen. Matt's group of vigilantes are all dressed as devils, all of them seeking absolute justice and sticking to the code of "eye for an eye". Personality wise, I see Matt as a mix between 616 DD, Tyler Durden, and Dexter Morgan.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): A decent RPer with experience on these boards, and a DD fan.

Hell's Kitchen

Dakota North was broken. Six months, she had watched as her husband and child had been murdered. The bastard had walked on the murder charge. She watched in horror as the slick defense attorney had beaten the pants off the D.A.

That son of a ***** had even had the nerve to smile at her as he left the courtroom. She could feel the rage slowly building up in her as she went home from the court. She had cried the rest of the day. Justice had not come for Mike and Stevie.

It was almost nine that night, and she was still crying in the dark when she heard the creek of the hardwood floors. Someone was in here.

"Dakota North," a voice said in the darkness.

"Who's there," Dakota called out feebly.

"Justice."

Suddenly, a large thump echoed through the room as a large figure rested at North's feet. Through the glow of the street lights outside, she could see what is was. It was her husband and son's killer. He was hog-tied and trying to scream through his duct tape mouth.

"Justice needs to take place tonight. Do you have it in your heart to do what needs to be done?"

She breathed deeply. She had fantasized many times about killer this piece of trash herself. But now that it was the moment of truth, could she? Remembering Stevie's dead eyes was all that she needed.

"Yes," she said flatly.

"Good," the figure said as it handed her a large blunt object. Dakota realized that it was a claw hammer. The same type of weapon that had killed her son and husband. Poetic Justice, if there was a word.

"Do it, Dakota...do it now."

She felt the shock of impact against her arm as the hammer's clawed end dug into the killer's eye socket. He screamed through the duct tape as she continued to clobber at his head. Her tears mixed with the blood, running freely on to the hardwood floors. She wasn't sure when he was dead, but she stopped only when she felt the shadow figures gentle touch on her arm.

"He's dead, Dakota. He's been dead for sometime now."

"Who are you?"

"A man that believe in justice. Do you believe in justice, Dakota? No matter the cost, justice should be upheld. Do you believe that?"

"Yes," she whispered.

"Do you wish to give others the justice you found here tonight?"

"Yes...please."

"You are broken, Dakota North. But don't worry. We will fix you, make you whole again."

"Welcome to The Devils."

The All-Star Marvel RPG
Character Application

Character you would like to play: Anthony Edward Stark / Iron Man

Powers: On his own, Tony is powerless. However, after his accident, the bionic upgrades grant him a small amount of strength and renewed endurance. The pièce de résistance, however, is a specialized, modified version of the Iron Man suit - which his father designed for the military. Tony's suit not only keeps him alive, it also puts some heavy firepower at his fingertips. In addition, the suit has flight capability and limited shielding. The technology running the suit is so advanced that it allows Tony to hack into almost anything.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): At the time of Anthony Edward Stark's birth, his father's company - Stark Industries - was the leading weapons manufacturer in the United States. Howard Stark was put on the map with the invention of the Iron Men, robot soldiers equipped with the most advanced combat systems on the market. From a young age, Tony was groomed to be the successor to his father's business.

Young Tony resented this treatment, though. While other children learned about how to throw a baseball, Tony was taught the nature of the world's economic market. While some fathers took their sons to football games, Tony was brought to board meetings. As Tony became an adolescent, he became rebellious. His father sent him to a prestigious boarding school in Europe, and Tony repaid the favor by getting kicked out after a multitude of incidents and infractions.

Tony spent his late teenage years and early twenties on the front page of tabloids and news magazines. The reckless socialite burned away almost all of his trust fund on alcohol, women, and impromptu trips all around Europe and America. When questioned about his son's antics, Howard Stark declined to comment. Like all people leading that kind of life, Tony eventually hit rock bottom and was forced to come home.

Howard Stark accepted his prodigal son with open arms, seemingly forgiving Tony for all his missteps. It was only after some time that Howard revealed a grave secret to Tony: Howard had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, and he could die at any time. The news was sobering, to say the least. Howard revealed his intentions to leave Stark Industries in Tony's hands, but he made one stipulation. Tony had to learn some discipline and maturity by serving in the armed forces. Not wanting to disappoint his dying father, Tony accepted and joined the Army.

During his time with the Army, Tony really seemed like a different person. He was maturing, taking responsibility for the self-destructive lifestyle he had led. Tony was shipped overseas to perform a tour of duty in Iraq. It was there that Tony saw Stark Industries weapons being used by the enemy. Tony's life was forever changed, however, when an IED exploded in close proximity. Most of the right side of Tony's body was destroyed, but - miraculously - he survived the explosion.

Howard Stark immediately had his son flown home. In a risky procedure, Howard decided to use Tony as a test subject for a new Stark Industries experiment: bionic prosthetics and enhancement. Tony's missing body parts were replaced by bionic upgrades, but his heart couldn't take the strain. Howard Stark removed the powercore from one of his Iron Men suits and modified it to work with Tony's upgrades.

Nearly forty years after creating the Iron Men, Howard Stark had created an Iron Man - his own son. Not long after, Howard succumbed to the brain tumor and died. Tony inherited his father's company with a renewed sense of responsibility. And his first order of business was to get Stark weapons out of terrorists' hands.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Tony's story is one of redemption. His time overseas was eye-opening. He saw the ugly side of Stark Industries - the side which led to innocent death and pointless slaughter. Tony seeks to right this horrible wrong and redeem Stark Industries' reputation around the world. On a deeper level, though, Tony is redeeming himself for the manner in which he acted as he was growing up. And it's not a change that will happen overnight. Like most interpretations of Tony Stark, he will have his relapses, but - like always - he'll get right back up and keep fighting.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Well, he's not quite a genius-level intellect anymore. Granted, he's still going to be intelligent, and he still remembers the lessons his father taught him about how to run Stark Industries, but this is a different Tony Stark. This is a Tony Stark who's in way over his head. He wants to do good, but he's not sure how. The genius was his father, and without him Tony's at a loss for how to move forward. So in the beginning, especially, Tony will be fumbling around a little bit - trying to figure out what he's being called to do.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Well, I'm committed to this concept (which I can't say for Moon Knight; hence why I decided not to go forward with that). I love Tony Stark, and - at times - I love to hate him, but either way it's clear that he needs to be a larger presence than he has been in the past, and I want to be the guy who is that presence.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

I find myself staring up at one of the prototype "Iron Men." The technology is dated - granted, this thing was made just after 'Nam - but even still, the design and the concept are unparalleled. My father was a brilliant man, and I only wish I had inherited even half of that. I flex my right arm, balling my right hand into a fist. It's hard to believe that my father's scientists were able to put Humpty Dumpty - namely, me - back together again. I run my hand across the cold, glowing metal of the powercore in my chest. Simply genius.

"You wanted to see me, Mister Stark?" a soft voice calls from across my father's workshop. Her heels click against the metallic floor as she walks. I eye her from head to toe. She's an attractive redhead wearing a tight, purple pantsuit. The fluorescent lighting from above glints off her diamond earrings. All in all, she has the look of a strong, confident woman who holds herself very well.

The old me would hit on her.

I'm not the old me anymore.

I smile politely. "That's right, Miss Potts. May I call you Virginia?"

"Actually," she begins with a laugh, "You can call me Pepper. Everyone else does."

"Right. Pepper, then. Well, I called you here because my father spoke very highly of you," I explain. She begins to blush, but she hides it well. "Don't be embarrassed. He had good reason to. Top of your high school class, perfect score on your SATs, MIT graduate. You have quite the impressive résumé."

She waves a hand dismissively. "It was nothing, really." Interesting way to look at all those accomplishments. "I'm some of an overachiever, I suppose. 'Good' just wasn't good enough." She hesitates. I know what's coming next. "Your father was a brilliant man - probably the smartest I've ever met. I'm so sorry for your loss."

"Don't be. You know how my father was. He wouldn't want us to sit around and grieve. Not when there's so much work to be done," I joke. She laughs softly. Attractive and intelligent. I guess some people can have it all. "I called you here because I have something of a pet project that I've been wanting to work on. You'll be the only person I've told, and I'd like to keep it that way. Understand?"

Pepper nods. "What do you need?"

I turn back to the original Iron Man suit. I smile and look at Pepper. "We're going to reinvent the wheel."

Character you would like to play:
howardtheduckomnibus.jpg

Howard the Duck. Yep.

Powers: None

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Howard comes from and alternate universe populated by anthropomorphic animals. A group of powerful, pan-dimensional beings who watched the cynical fowl with great interest, transported him into world of All-Star Marvel. This was partly because they had foreseen that the creature would one day be of great significance in this new world, but mostly because “they thought it would be funny.” Confused, frightened, and utterly alone, Howard takes his first steps on a long and horrific downward spiral into drugs, alcohol, violence, and insanity.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Who else would have? I thought it would be a really unique choice and with an obscure character, no one will care if I totally ruin him.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): I’m putting a much darker twist on the (beloved? Probably not.) character. Instead of a cigar smokin’, wise-crackin’ duck, I want to make him a foul mouthed, depressed, emotionally unstable, raging alcoholic duck. Like the original Howard, I’m giving him a metafictional awareness of his surroundings and himself, being well aware of the absurdity of the Marvel Universe and his own existence.

I want to pull Howard into a series of adventures (some realistic and some totally surreal and psychedelic, but all horrifying) that gradually chisel away at his sanity.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I’m going to use Howard as a source of comic relief for the RPG. I also have an idea to mold him into some sort of social commentary but I don’t quite know if I’m deep enough to go there, but I’ll certainly try.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):
I roll over to look at the clock. One thirty-six p.m. Alarm is playing some crappy Journey song. My head is throbbing, my mouth is dry, my stomach is doin’ backflips and worst of all, I’m sober. I slam the “OFF” button on the digital alarm and slowly sit up. Apparently it wasn’t slow enough. I quickly buckle over and a nice, thick, creamy stream of McDoubles and vodka comes pourin’ out the old bill.

Two twenty-one p.m. I somehow made it out of my apartment and out into the streets. Don’t really remember how. Stupid fat hairless monkeys gawk at me. This one fat broad just keeps starin’ as I pass her by. I turn and glare at her as I walk, then, BOOM, right into some bimbo wearin’ expensive, oversized sunglasses.

“Nice glasses, honey. Maybe someday you’ll save up enough to buy a personality to go with it.”

“You…you’re a DUCK!”

“…**** off.”

I shove her aside. Don’t really have the time to chew the **** with ******s. Got important business to take care of. Three block’s later, I’m at my destination. I look up at the great big ol’ marvelous sign: LIQUOR. Best liquor stores are just called LIQUOR STORE. Just like the best Chinese restaurants are called CHINESE RESTAURANT and the best strip clubs are called SPANKY’S. I push open the door and walk in. Little bell rings. Peruse the aisles a bit before grabbing a bottle of Southern Comfort. The merlot of rednecks.

I get on my tippy-toes and place it on the counter. Cashier stares at me.

“Uh…I’m gonna need…I.D.”

I sigh.

“Oh do you? I’m sorry. Let me just get my driver’s license. It’s in my wallet here in my back pock—oh wait. I don’t have a back pockets. Because I don’t have any pants. Because I’m a ****ing duck.”

“I can’t sell you anything without age verification…sir.”

I let out another sigh.

“Fine.”

I reach up to the counter and pull the bottle down.

“I guess I’ll just go put this back on the shel—“

I quickly dart out of the store and haul ass down the street.

“HEY!” the cashier screams. I’m not too worried about cops. What’s he gonna do, call 911 and tell them a duck stole a bottle of liqueur? I just hope he won’t chase after me. My stubby legs can only take me so far…

...

That is just... full of win. I applaud you, sir.

Character you would like to play: Arkady Rossovich - Omega Red

Powers:Superhuman levels of durability, stamina, strength and agility. Cybernetic Whip Implants in his wrists made of Carbonadium, Russias answer to Adamantium.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): World War Two saw the rise of the greatest hero the western world had ever seen. Captain America. A symbol of hope and strength for the Allied Forces.

Behind the Iron Curtain though, he was a different symbol. He was the pinnacle of Americas dominance in the race for military dominance. A culmination of the world arms race throughout the war. The KGB, had spent years trying to create their own Super Soldiers, but had failed inexplicably. Test results were not positive until a DNA sample from one Arkady Rossovich, a former soldier turned serial killer gave the Russians hope.

Arkady was taken from his military prison, where he had awaited his death sentence and was experimented upon. His body reacted positively to the super soldier formula and the Russians, taking their creation a step further, implanted him with cybernetic carbonadium tendrils. However, something went wrong. The Carbonadium reacted with the formula, slowly poisoning the cells in Arkadys body. He was the ultimate weapon, but he was flawed.

Given regular shots of carbonadium suppressant, he would survive, but they knew the only way to stop the poisoning was with a carbonadium synthesizer, an invention patented by Howard Stark. With Starks refusal to sell the tech to the Russians, they deemed their Super Soldier program a failure and cryogenically froze Arkady, consigning him to the proverbial scrapheap of failed projects.

His body, still frozen, remained buried deep in a military base in the outer regions of Siberia. However, the 60 year old technology has begun to fail and the ice is beginning to crack.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: I wanted a villain different from the usual clutch of Marvel characters. One that I had a personal interest in, but also could mold to suit my own stories. This is about redefining a character who hasn't had much love over the years.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Arkady used to be a mutant with a rough concoction of powers. I want to take him away from all that and make him a focus for all Marvel characters. Taking inspiration from The Colonel in the Ultimates, from Kingpin in 616, from Whiplash in the new Iron Man film and of course, from Red himself, I hope to bring a new bad guy to the forefront and give guys like Cap a hearty villain to sink their teeth into.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): As a player I can bring a wealth of experience to the table, along with a passion for interaction and storytelling. Rumours that I may also be able to bring the sexy times are currently unfounded.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

Siberia.
Present Day.

"They say that the new containment cell will not be here for two more days".

Alexander Grigory glanced up from his computer terminal and shook his head. The tip of index finger pushed his small round spectacles back up the bridge of his nose. "And tell me Dimitri, what in the hell are we supposed to do in the meantime?"

"They said that if things get bad, to put a bullet between his eyes. They need the body, not the mind". Dimitri smirked and cocked his gun. The two scientists had been at work on the base for the past ten years. They were the only remaining members of the team once dedicated to the former Soviet dream of owning their own Super Soldier. It was out here in this barren wasteland that their research, and the failed test subject had remained.

Dimitri shook his head and picked up a file containing details of the new containment cell for the subject. "You know with tech like this, it's a wonder that-"

-DEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEDEEE-

The alarm screeched as red warning lights flickered to life. Dimitri dropped the file and unholstered his gun, not watching to see Alex do the same. Both men barrelled through the double doors into the lab where the cryogenic chamber held the body of Arkady Rossovich. Alex launched himself at the console and punched in a sequence of code, eyes widening as the readout rolled down the screen. "Sh-t! Dimitri! He's waking up! the bastard is waking up!"

Dimitri ran to another console, checking the data for himself. Across the room, the glass of the chamber cracked as gases exloded outwards. From within, a feral roar erupted as two long prehensile tendrils snaked out of the chamber. They grasped at the locks of the chamber door before crushing the metal into nothing. The door fell away and both men fell back, levelling their guns at the man who emerged from the wreckage.

579222-o.jpg

His blonde hair fell around his face, the corded muscle of his body tensing as cybernetic tendrils escaped from his hands and snaked in the air around him. The scientists unloaded their handguns, firing wildly. Rossovich flicked his hands out and launched the tendrils at them, grasping each one and snapping their necks without effort. He moved to the console and checked the details there.

"2010?" He growled, eyes narrowing. "They've kept me in that thing for the past 50 years?". He smashed a fist down on the top of the console, shattering it. "They told me they'd fix me. They promised me they'd have my life back! Those lying dogs! I'll make them pay. I'll make them all pay!"

Character you would like to play: Kallark - The Gladiator

Powers: Gladiator possesses a number of superhuman capabilities as a result of his unique alien physiology including superhuman strength (capable of shattering a planet),superhuman speed, stamina and durability (capable of withstanding an explosion equivalent to a supernova); reflexes; heat vision (stated as "hotter than a star"); frost breath and is capable of warp speed flight (measured as "a hundred times the speed of light"). Gladiator's abilities increase and decrease in accordance with his level of confidence and is vulnerable to a certain form of rare radiation.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Kallark is an alien from the distant planet Stronia. The planet was one ravaged in war, the entire species divided into two familes had battled endlessly for millenia. War was all a Strontain knew and they were bred from birth to be soldiers. Kallark himself was the top of his class in every sense and quickly rose through the ranks to become Praetor, personal bodyguard of the Strontian Majestor and her people.

It was in this position that he saw the brother of the majestor, the cruel prince D'Ken unleash his final doomsday device to destroy his sister and take the Strontian throne for himself. The Majestor learned of D'Kens Neutron Bomb and sent Kallark out into space to meet D'Kens battleship in combat. The battleship was a ruse though and the bomb had already been launched. The Neutron bomb was intended to wipe out a specific set of targets around Strontia, but the vile D'Ken had miscalculated and before he could react, from the vastness of space, Kallark watched his homeworld burn and explode, shattering into the stars.

In one simple act, the entire planet and his entire species was wiped out. Kallark, Praetor to the Empire was lost. The Gladiator was the last of his species.

He turned from the fire and the destruction and wandered the bleakness of the universe, trying to find a place and waiting for the blackness of death so that he may join his people once more. Eventually though, he came upon a small planet in the Sol system. A planet the natives called 'Earth'. And it is here, upon this 'Earth' that he now finds himself. An alien without a home. A man without a family. A warrior without a war.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Kallark has always interested me. He's what I'd consider to be Marvels equivalent of Superman and that's a direction I'd quite like to take him in.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): He'll be ahero to the people. But I really want to tell a tale of a lonely man trying to find his place. I always thought that being the very last of something is a concept that can and has produced some of the greatest stories I've read and I'd love the chance to turn my hand to that and try to create my own.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I'll reiterate what I put in my last app. Experience and a smidgen of talent.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

The Planet Strontia. Home of the soldier. The land of war. This is where he was born. In the fire and the storm and the blood of battle. A life fit for no child. His toys were weapon of death. His friends were victims of their fate. His life was nothing but the desire to win. To die for the cause was the greatest honour befitting a Strontian.

But Kallark was denied that honour.

He was the only one left. A lone wolf. A man with no home and no life. An existence that yearned for death ot take him.

But he was a God.

The power gifted to him from heritage and experience. Other species cowered before him. They knew the dark legacy of his kind and the violence they so readily wrought. The universe despised Strontia and her bastard children.

And so he flies, with no destination or course. A relic of a lost culture. A curiosity of the past. Centuries old and yet still so young. A mind as strong as the physical body it was encased in.

Kallark.

Lost son of Strontia.

And as he stares at his hands and sees the echoes of blood upon them he knows that there is no place for him. Not for people like him. Too much blood. Too much death.

So he travels to the farthest reach of the universe. To the system ruled by the star they call Sol. And he finds a planet as blue and as vibrant and as full of life as Strontia once was. He knows of these 'humans'. Short lived and weak. A mere speck in the corner of the great blackness. But yet full of hope and wonder.

He descends to look upon them and search for his place.

But to them, even a lonely God is still one to be feared.

They level their weapons at him and order his surrender. But surrender is never an option for him. It is treason to his fallen blood kin. He does not surrender, but also he does not fight.

He extend his arms outward, a gesture of openness. "Fear me not, Earthers. I mean you no harm. My name is Kallark, but those who know me call me The Gladiator".

Character you would like to play: Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man

Powers:
From Marvel.com...

Peter can cling to most surfaces, has superhuman strength (able to lift 10 tons optimally) and is roughly 15 times more agile than a regular human. The combination of his acrobatic leaps and web-slinging enables him to travel rapidly from place to place. His spider-sense provides an early warning detection system linked with his superhuman reflexes, enabling him the ability to evade most any injury, provided he doesn't cognitively override the autonomic reflexes.

This Spider-Man also has organic web shooters.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point):
Peter's history basically mirrors his 616 history, up until his Uncle Ben gets killed by the burglar. That night, Peter tried to hunt the man down, but he failed. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. The investigation seemed to drag on forever, and the police never did find the killer. The man who killed his beloved Uncle Ben had gotten away with it. This was a fact that frustrated Peter, making him angry inside, blaming the police for their ineptness.
Peter then promised to himself and to his Uncle Ben, that he would find the murderer himself.

Since the day he made that promise, Peter began training himself to become a police officer, with the hopes that, with his training, powers, and new resources, he'd be able to discover his Uncle's killer. After joining the academy, it didn't take long for Peter to stand out from the rest of the other cadets. Even holding his powers in relative check, Peter was leaps and bounds beyond his colleagues physically. And mentally, Parker was one of the brightest minds that some of the trainers had ever seen.
In fact a particular guest instructor was so impressed that he took Peter under his wing after graduation.

Detective John Jones was a seasoned vet, having spent twenty years of his life hunting down criminals and working cases. He also was a man with many connections, so it wasn't particularly difficult to have Peter assigned under him. Learning as Jones' protege was a blessing for Peter, and he was slowly becoming one of New York's top detectives. Peter spent eight years working and learning under Jones until his mentor was shot and killed outside of a movie theater one cold January night by a metahuman criminal.

Suffering the pain of loss once again, Peter left the force. Working the case alone, Peter used the skills he learned under Jones and tracked down the meta when the police could not. Before confronting the metahuman, Peter wanted to make sure that he would not be recognized by anyone who may be watching. As he thought of a disguise to wear, it dawned on him. Reaching up to the top of his closet, Peter pulled out a small box. A box that held his old outfit from his days as an amateur wrestler.
Peter began to take the design and refined it, reshaping the costume to fit him now. After finishing it and putting it on, it somehow just felt right to Peter. Like he was finally realizing his purpose in life.

Peter tracked the meta to an apartment building in Harlem and confronted him there. The fight tore up a good city block, but Peter prevailed, even saving a little girl from being crushed by a thrown car. The people cheered as Peter loomed over his beaten foe, ready to finish him off. But, no...Peter lowered his fist and stopped himself. He would not stoop to their level. He would not cross that line.

Leaving his opponent for the arriving police, Peter swung away. The next morning the headlines of the Daily Bugle named him the "Spider-Man", a name Peter, to his surprise, liked. The paper lauded his efforts in helping the police apprehend the dangerous metahuman, and contained many interviews with grateful bystanders, including the mother of the girl he rescued. It was enough for Peter to think that maybe this shouldn't be the end of Spider-Man. With the numbers of metahumans rising, the people needed somebody with the power to protect them. And, deep down, Peter felt as though it would be what Uncle Ben have wanted.

So, Peter became a private investigator, taking the cases that the cops couldn't crack, even becoming New York's leading expert in metahuman criminology. Currently, our hero lives in an apartment in Manhattan with his old high school friend, Harry Osborn. When he can, he tries to return to his old home to visit with his Aunt May, but that does not happen as often as he'd like. Mainly because Peter does not like being in the same house that his Uncle died in those years ago.
Currently, Peter has just started seeing one of the bartenders of a local watering hole he visits, called Ditko's.
But, that is only part of his life.

Peter now is slowly starting to make a name for himself as the costumed vigilante, Spider-Man. The papers love him, and the people can't seem to get enough of the Wall-Crawler. But Peter doesn't let the fame get to his head. All he cares about is making sure others are safe, and seeing criminals brought to justice. And it's a trade that's been going smoothly for Spider-Man for the past year, and up until now...

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: He's one of my favorite characters, ever. I've loved Spider-Man since I started reading comics twenty years ago, and I've never have gotten an opportunity to play him yet in the RPGs.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Well, obviously this isn't your typical Spider-Man. He still is a bit jaded and can be an ******* at times. And understandably so, after having the two only mentors of his life die. He's not involved in the media industry at all, but is a skilled detective who masquerades as a vigilante. Not to mention he's a media darling in this universe. Also, this Peter is twenty-nine years old, and a veteran, former police officer with various contacts in the justice system and in the criminal underground.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Experience in RPing. And a shotgun pointed into your groin if I don't get approved.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

Peter looked across the street to the old brick home. Looking down, Peter took a folded up piece of paper out of his coat's pocket. Peter put the note away and looked back at the home.

It's definitely the place...just doesn't look like anybody's home right now.

Seven days ago, young Susan Summers was kidnapped from out of her bedroom. There were no signs of forced entry, no signs of a struggle. It was as though the child had just disappeared. And Susan wasn't the first. Two other children had vanished just as Susan did, all within a month span.
Fearing a meta, Peter's friend on the force, Detective Flash Thompson, called him in to help. Now, after a week of busting heads and gathering information, Peter had gotten a major lead to the metahuman's where-a-bouts. Wanting to handle this alone, Peter decided to hold off calling Flash and decided to scope the place out on his own.

Peter calmly strolled across the quiet road and walked up to the brick home. Stopping on the sidewalk just out front, Peter bent down to tie his shoe.

Spider-sense is definitely buzzing though. Whatever's going on in there isn't friendly.

I think I should definitely drop in to say hello, Peter thought as he finished tying his shoelace and strolled off. Making sure he wasn't being watched, Peter ducked between some houses and found a nice, out of the way place for him to change. It only took about thirty seconds for him to put on the uniform of his other job.
It was a change that he was definitely getting good at.

"Ahhh...like a glove", Spider-Man whispered to himself as he stretched and cracked his neck from side to side.

Making sure his street clothes were collected and tucked away out of sight, Spider-Man leaped off, swinging back towards the old, red brick house.

Yes, yes it is. And, with three of the four GMs in the running, it's all on MB's shoulders.

I should have an app up some point today. So many ideas I can't narrow it down to one. I don't think I can pass up my Penguinesque gentlemen MODOK.

I'd challenge people for about 3 of the chars that already have apps up for, but I'm just not passionate enough yet. For those who wish to play X-Men characters we should do an MSN chat. If byrd is up for it, I wouldn't mind taking Magneto's side so that we can have Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Wolverine at least on the same side.

Yes...and I have some highly incriminating insurance I can use to blackmail the son of a ***** into choosing one of the Spider-Man apps. Who's interested? I'll let the bidding start at 5 G's.

I still want to play Colossus, but I'd have him as an X-Man. I'm split between him right now and a Spidey villain. I think who I choose depends on who gets approved as Spider-Man, so I can work with them and try to move forward with that idea.
