Why thank you, I like to think of myself as smart and love to debate. However, so many damn people on here are so stuck in their ways that their logic is just crazy sometimes...Christian threads for example. But I haven't been here long enough to be cemented into the inner circle of the Hype yet.

I don't like the Christian threads mainly because if you do anything besides bash Christianity in there like it's the devil or uphold some wacked out, uninformed view of what's 'Biblical accurate', you get trashed. There is no middle ground in those threads that stresses any moderation, or even a remotely informed view of the development of stories in the Bible. It's just a massive culture war.

So true, my bio. prof. is one of the smartest men I know and talks about how there should be no clash but people on both sides that think they are right cause the issues. But there will always be hotly debated topics as long as they conflict or coincide with morals. Morals should never be part of a debate and distinguish the smart from the passionate. Passionate people are not always smart

That's true.

Also, remember, the extremes are the most vocal and easiest to come by. Most people base their opinions in things they 1) see trumped up on TV and 2) get from their parents/friends/environment. While they might not be wrong in their opinions per say, they aren't really based in anything. So when they get into arguments they have to take a very, very extreme viewpoint because all they have are bits and pieces.

Honestly, I don't remember what it was exactly, but he was mad at the poster Evolution. I remember that because when I tried to calm him down, he mistook me for the guy he was pissed at. Like I said, he was very, very drunk.
