For me it'd be Steve Ditko because of the detail in everything that he drew, plus he illustrated my favorite Spidey story ever, Amazing Spider-Man #33.

i grew up with bagley on amazing, so i'd have to say bags.

Jazzy John Romita. His Spidey is just awe-inspiringly perfect.

It would be a tie between John Romita Sr and Ross Andru!:spidey:

I loved the way Beagley did Spidey. Don't get me wrong, Romita is just Legendary, but as far as when I started liking Spidey, it's all Beagley. And he made a really cool Ock and Venom. Loved how he drew them.

You'll have to kill me before I choose between the Romitas.

Romita Sr is the definitive Spider-man artist in my eyes.

I have never been able to pin point one favourite artist for Spider-man. He's had a bucket load of talent draw him.

Man, that's like asking a straight single horny guy to choose between two really hot chicks. You're asking the impossible!!!! :wow:

But on a serious note I grew up reading Spider-Man in the late 80's and early 90's. So it was Todd McFarlane's style that really, really sucked me into Spider-Man.

But it's the true greatness of Mark Bagley and John Romita Jr. that made me a true hardcore fan of Spider-Man. Those two guys are the definitive artists of the modern Spider-Man era. There are none higher. Bow before their awesomeness or face a death so painful that you'll WISH FOR DEATH!! FOOLS!!

I can't choose just one!

My top 3 are

1. John Romita
2. Todd McFarlane
3. Mark Bagley

1. John Romita Sr.
2. John Romita Jr.
3. Steve Ditko
4. Todd McFarlen
5. Mark Bagely

Honorable mentions to Gilll Kane and Terry Dodson, though.

Bagley hands down. The man was a workhorse of sweetness.

With honorary nod to Steve Ditko for having balls.

Todd McFarlane isn't just my favorite Spidey artist or even comic book artist. He's my favorite artist, period...and I was an art major in high school.

I'm just gonna toss some names out there. Steve Ditko, Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen had a similar style so I'll add him, The Romitas, Alex Saviuk, Tim Sale, Ron Frenz was alright, Mark Bagely, Alex Maleev in those Spidey cameos, Joe Quesada, Steve McNiven, Gil Kane had that old school look and so did Sal Buscema as well as Ross Andru, Mike Deodato, looking forward to Stuart Immonen.

T. Mac!!! And I ain't talkin' about the basketball player. I started collecting Spidey comics when Mcfarlane was on board, during his ASM run. He's the one that redefined Spidey, giving him the large eyes, the "spagetti" webbing that would be flying all around Spidey, and of course the over-exaggerated contorted Spidey poses. Todd easily had a flair for the dynamic. I wasn't a huge fan of his "caricature" like style when it came to him drawing people but everything else, especially his Spidey (which IMO is the best til' this day) was mind-blowing and incredibly detailed.

Larsen is a close second, followed by Steve Skroce, then Bagley. I would list J. Scott Campbell as my second, but he hasn't "officially" drawn a Spidey book. I can't wait for his run on ASM though!!!!

1. John Romita Sr.
2. John Romita Jr.
3. Steve Ditko
4. Todd McFarlen
5. Mark Bagely

Honorable mentions to Gilll Kane and Terry Dodson, though.

This is almost exactly how my list would go, except switch #'s 4 & 5.
