I rather he seem more like the little boy who feels he didn't get enough love from daddy when he was a child. He is jealous now, angry, and even more angry at the fact that his step dadd (Odin) killed his real father. Had that not happend Loki would have been a king one day.

It's not just that. Odin also banished his children to the farthest corners of the nine worlds because they posed a possible threat to Asgard. To a parent, losing your children is worse than death. And, Loki was further made into a social pariah because of the profecy that said his children would destroy Asgard. As I said, his feelings are rational, but his actions are far from rational. He's like one of those geeks who take guns into school and kill the bully who tormented them.

Basically. One of the big themes of Norse mythology was self fulfiling profecy. It was foretold that Loki and his children would bring abour Ragnarok. The way they were treated in order to prevent Ragnarok turned them against the Aesir so much that, to get revenge, they brought about Ragnarok.

Veeeery good choice. And here I was going to say Jason Isaacs. Vincent Cassel may not be our Joker but he sure as hell would make an awesome Loki. It would definately be his breakout role too.

paul bettany in Knights tale is how i would portray Loki a wordsmith and completely charming but i would add a terrible streak in him where he kills without compuntion.

There are so many actors who in their younger years could have pulled off the role. My particular favorite being James Woods.
