Infinity War Who will be the Composer for this?

Giachino is currently composing Spider-man after his personal request to feige himself. He can't compose two movies at the same time and he really wanted to do Spider-man.

Giacchino has already done too many blockbusters as is, so I'm definitely fine with him not scoring Infinity War.

Really hope he references existing themes. I heard he wanted to for the first Avengers but Joss Whedon nixed it.

Silvestri incorporated his Tesseract motif and CA themes in the first Avengers score. Plus, here's what Silvestri said about referencing other MCU themes in the first Avengers film:

There was never a conversation about any of that, or even the Captain America theme for instance. There were only conversations about the desire to have a definable theme for The Avengers as a group. We knew that if we were to have a theme for every character in this movie, the music would get very clunky and intrusive. So I stayed away from all of that.

The only theme I want Silvestri to take from previous films is that hybrid theme Elfman composed for Ultron. That was wonderful.

He may said that for interview purposes. It's entirely possible he considered using old theme, but then that was nix, if he didn't consider Thor's theme then that's a shame, however given Marvel's track-record with using old theme, I'm inclined to go with the first.

Would "Junkie XL" ever work on a Marvel Studios movie? I hope the Soundtrack for this movie is nowhere near as bad as the Justice League soundtrack. Hope Infinity War soundtrack is as good as the "Winter Soldier" soundtrack or better.

The Avengers theme (Silvestri's version, though he may also incorporate stuff from Elfman's version) and the Guardians of the Galaxy themes will be in this movie for sure. It's probably also safe to expect some of Silvestri's other themes (Captain America and Black Widow) as well as the themes of the characters still on film 1 (Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man and Black Panther) to be referenced. I wonder how he'll handle Thor and Iron Man. I can't wait to hear Thanos' theme.

Wait I thought they announced a composer for this film already. So there's no composer yet? Bring in Danny Elfman! He'll give your movie that much needed dose of nostalgia! :o

It's Alan Silvestri unless I'm missing something.

Damn is this the only music thread? oh well listening to Avengers soundtrack right now and I hope silvestri brings alot of those themes back especially the one when the team is suiting up and preparing to go to war.

While I'm glad his Avengers theme is returning, I hope Silvestri is a little more open to using some of the other composers' themes from the MCU. Specifically Ludwig Goransson's Black Panther theme, Michael Giacchino's Doctor Strange and Spider-Man themes, and especially Tyler Bates's Guardians of the Galaxy theme.

Silvestri will probably reuse the themes for the other Avengers that he created for the first film, but as much as I love his Captain America theme, it might be a bit too bright and cheery for the Cap we're getting in Infinity War.

But if the directors of the MCU can collaborate on Infinity War, maybe the composers can too?

I'd love for him to reference each of their themes whenever they're introduced on screen, or even when they get a cool key moment alone. Similar how Tyler's Iron Man theme made a small appearance before fighting the Hulk, or how the music during Doctor Strange's cameo in Ragnarok sounded at least similar to Giacchino's work.

I'm curious as to what he'll do with his Cap theme. Be interesting if he changes it up a bit to reflect Cap's state, only for it to return in it's full glory whenever he get's the OG shield back.

I get chills picturing that.

Silvestri coming back to the franchise is good news. The music in Age of Ultron was not as good as his score for the original.

Why was Marvel so high on Brian Tyler during phase 2? He did Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron and the Marvel Studios intro theme (which was changed when Giacchino came along). I don't think any of his stuff was bad, but none of it warranted him getting all the stuff they gave him.

Maybe Tyler was relatively cheaper than Silvestri (he didn't seem to have a lot of experience doing big movies before Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World)? Ike was still running the Marvel Studios movie division then (before Feige started reporting directly to Alan Horn) and he's notoriously tight with the purse strings.

Tyler wasn't the only one who scored Ultron. They brought in Elfman at the last minute. And they also reused so many of Silvestri's Avengers stuff too. It was a hodgepodge of three different music sensibilities competing with each other that I thought really hurt the score of Ultron.

I did like Tyler's work on Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, but the Age of Ultron score was so unmemorable outside of Silvestri's returning theme and the new theme that played over the beginning of the end credits, which I think was Elfman's.

I believe it was because yeah he was cheaper. I thought I read that Whedon wanted Elfman from the beginning, but because of Ike he had to use Tyler. But since Tyler broke contract to finish Furious 7, Joss ended up getting his way with Elfman but it was so last minute which is why that film’s score is a mess.

I just need the Cap march back in some form. Not altered/updated/messed-with, just pure and simple TFA-credits "Ba ba-ba ba-ba BA-BA-BAAAA!" in all its friggin' glory.

Cleanse the palette of all that Jackman ****. Who actually had a couple of shining moments in TWS (and even then it was mostly the softer Silvestri-esque cues he'd written, like in the museum), but all of his CW stuff was so damn bland.

But yeah, whether it's in A3 or A4 I don't care, but some sort of "the chips are down, everyone's scattered, Steve might even be presumed dead, but shows up in the red white & blue, shield held high, rallying everyone together" moment with the March blaring would just be gold.

Alan's so hit-and-miss lately unfortunately, and even his TFA/Avengers scores are nowhere near his best work, but when that guy's on his A-game he's not far off the best working composers out there. Doyle's Thor score is still my overall MCU favorite, but Silvestri just has such potential and raw talent, it's so damn amazing having him back after that mess with the AoU score and the Jackman stuff in the Russo movies.

Henry Jackman's "Taking a Stand" is my Cap theme though. :woot:

I like Jackman's score in Winter Soldier and Civil War. The only problem I have is that he didn't bring any themes or motifs back from previous movies, aside from the very beginning of The Winter Soldier, which was great to hear. It would have been nice to have the helicarrier theme, that was used in both Avengers movies during this scene.

I wish Ramin Djawadi would return to the MCU. I just bought his Ironman 1 score and it is fantastic stuff, I feel like that soundtrack doesnt get enough recognition. And from his work on GoT, he should score an Avengers film.

Did he have a falling out with Marvel Studios?
