Infinity War Who will die in Infinity war Part 1 and 2

Doesn't Dr. Strange have another solo film coming out though? Highly doubt they'd kill him off already.

It's never been confirmed, but it's likely. Feige already confirmed they had plans for a follow-up and just tbh, if anyone seriously thinks they'd kill a character after just one movie, I have some magic beans I'd like to sell them.

Tag possible spoilers guys, even if they're from unconfirmed sources.

If they hadn't mentioned the whole "solo" film, I def would think BW is gonna bite it.

Then again killing 1 of your few female characters wouldn't really help the PR.

does anyone see The Hulk dying?

As far as I'm aware, the solo film hasn't actually been confirmed; it's just been a whole load of gossip, and even if it was confirmed, it could always be a prequel. Furthermore, if there is/was all this talk of a Black Widow solo - that could all be to build on the shock of her death - nobody will be expecting it!

If such a female is killed off alongside a large batch of male heroes, I don't think that would present too much of a problem.

The Avengers still have Wanda, and will soon have Carol (Captain Marvel) and Hope (Wasp), not to mention all the female characters of Wakanda in addition to Gamora & Mantis. There's ample opportunity for the MCU to introduce further female characters into the fray if they kill Tasha off.

I've said many times, on many threads, that I suspect Hulk will be one of the terminal casualties of these films - presumably the sequel.

Nope, it's more than that. Variety reported back in January that Scarjo was going to be meeting with the writer that had been picked for the project.

That's far from a set thing but it's further along than rumors at this point.

it could always be a prequel.

I really don't see them finally making a Black Widow film after all these years right after they've killed the character. She's safe.

Writers, Cast and Dev/Production Teams meet for projects all the time for projects that later don't see the light of day - look at what's currently happened to the Batman Solo.

Unless it's all just a red herring; there are no actual plans for her solo, and she wont make it out of Avengers 4.

I don't think they would tease it for it to not be a real movie. That would be super crappy to do to Scarlett. It could be a prequel, yes. But, I see it being a sequel.

I guess time will tell. Either way, it'll be interesting to see what a sequel may hold for a hero, post Avengers 4, without any powers. If this little project is just about her, what could it possibly be about? If it's just another spy drama, I'll probably zone out! For it to be a success, it's kind of going to need to include (somewhat) the larger MCU. A stand-alone spy movie featuring Black Widow just isn't going to cut it - not for me anyway!

Uh, I know. That's why I just said it wasn't concrete but further along than gossip.

That seems like a stretch. A big one. When people have been asking for a Black Widow movie for about 5 years now, I don't see Marvel messing with the fans by starting movement by one as a ruse before killing her off.

That's what she is though, a spy. It's what we're going to get.

Seemed somewhat superficial to me.

That being the case, and knowing the direction of the MCU at the moment, I don't see this making that big a dent in the market ~ it'll be fan service at best! I've seen every MCU film to date, because of the superhero element.

I have no interest in watching Scarlet run around as a spy. She's done plenty of those style films already - if I want to watch her play the spy, I'll watch one of those.

I'm sure it will be a Marvel version of a spy film, like TWS was. But, I just don't see why you don't want them to use the character in their proper setting. I mean, do you want to see Black Widow fight like the Kree or something (Skrulls prob could work...but that is because there is a spy element to it)? In an ensemble, that's fine. But, that's not her world in general.

I personally feel like it's too late for the Black Widow solo; we could have done with her origin much earlier. I don't see the draw of giving her a solo outing now - it's only because fan service desires it that it's happening in the first place.

Black Widow, especially the MCU Widow works in an ensemble setting as a support character. For me, she's never going to be solo material. Maybe she could have been once upon a time, but I'm not remotely getting that vibe for her character now - the same applies to Hawkeye, Coulson, Maria Hill and Nick Fury. I have no qualms about any of these characters appearing in prequel films, but I have little desire to see them in their own sequel.

For the most part, Marvel, and in turn, the MCU deals with superheroes more than it does spies and unpowered street-level vigilantes; the likes of DareDevil are an exception because of his enhanced senses.

Natasha has plenty in the tank for a solo. Her history is ripe for exploration. We've gotten tastes of it, but there is a lot more to learn about her. I don't see how there isn't room for a solo for her. The MCU makes films of all kinds. Just because she is in a grand cosmic event now doesn't mean it excludes the possibility of a smaller movie. If that were the case, then Spider-Man should not get a sequel, either.

I'm thinking maybe she just is not your cup of tea. I'm actually excited she is going to get a solo. It's way overdue.

Seemed somewhat superficial to me.

"They've hired a writer and have the star discussing the plot with her" is more than gossip, is the point.

I have no interest in watching Scarlet run around as a spy

So clearly, that means nobody else does either.

Spider-Man has powers. Tasha doesn't. Either way, it's not that she isn't my cup of tea ( I'd love to invite Scarlet around for a cuppa ;) ), but to me, she works better as an ensemble character. A spy movie, within the MCU isn't my cup of tea.

Again, I direct you back to the Batman fiasco. There's no (known) movement on that, and yet it's gone through the same stages (if not more) than the BW solo.

So clearly, that means nobody else does either.
Don't try to be smart. That's not what I said, or implied. I just don't see the desire is all.

I actually have a theory about what it could be about...

In the comics, when Steve became Top Cop, following Secret Invasion and the Dark Reign, he restored SHIELD and the Avengers, but he also started a spy/black ops sect of the Avengers who called themselves the Secret Avengers. Widow was a part of this team. So was Valkyrie, actually. And Sharon Carter. And War Machine.

You know how ages ago Tessa Thompson along with Zoe Saldana and I think a few others approached Feige about doing an all female film? I think the Secret Avengers would be the perfect opportunity for this. Only instead of Steve running it hands-on like he did in the comics, he turns it over to Widow to run, making her the lead of this film. So instead of one female spy you have a team of them. More Charlie's Angels than Red Sparrow or Salt.

But, one of the best MCU films was a spy movie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier)

I would be more on board with something of this setting.

I don't think of that as a Spy Movie.

This is the run I was referring to...

Which has nothing to do with the initial comment.
I think it does. You stated that the Black Widow film was more than just a rumour because of [talks]. I stated that the Batman film was also implicated to be more than a rumour - also because of [talks], and yet we know the Batman film is on indefinite hold, so on that basis, said talks don't relate to an actual production.

Too late.
Notice I said don't try to be smart - not that you were. You'll need to try harder to be successful in your attempt. :o

I think it does.

It doesn't. The initial claim was that Black Widow is nothing more than gossip right now. I pointed out it isn't and that there has been official movement made on the project.

Notice I said don't try to be smart

Of course. Ain't gotta try when I already am.:cwink:
