Who will the next big bad be?

After infinity War who will replace Thanos as the main Villain(s)?

If Marvel gets the FF back, then the answer is Galactus. They don't necessarily need to build the next major threat for some 3 Phases, we could have some that only last a single one or even 2. Some possibilities are World War Hulk, Kang, the Beyonder, Korvac or the Masters of Evil.

Maybe Loki could be a major threat again, possibly trying to fill in the power vacooms.

I'd save him for a Ghost Rider film.

Forgot him, if he did a team up with Loki it could be interesting too, i remember them doing so in the comics, creates a fun dynamic for the villains.

If they can, it would most likely be better for them to try not using Kang or timetravel for now, that usualy opens up a whole world of problems.

I'd save him for a Ghost Rider film.

I would love a Ghost rider film but I just cannot see it happening, I can see him in a Dr Strange and or Avengers movie, which is why I would go for Mephisto (also if he is played by Al Pacino it has the potential to be one of the MCU's best Villains).

Kang the Conqueror, Michael Korvac, The Masters of Evil, there any number of possibilities. I don't really see Mephisto working as the BIG BAD of the MCU. He's a cool character to be sure, but he's not really big on the whole "destroy everything, kill everyone, take over the world" thing. His goals tend to be more focused/specific.

Mephisto could drive Scarlett Witch insane, it would not be the full house of M but it could draw some of the themes from it plus Mephisto has tortured Scarlett Witch on more than a few occasions.

Plus it would set up a cool scene, Ghost rider vs Avengers, their is plenty of them who have blood on their hands, until Captain America arrives and as he is pretty innocent Ghost Rider would not be able to attack him. (unless by that stage Bucky is Captain America in which case he would get owned).

I'll bet Dormammu will be a new Big Bad. He'll probably be introduced in the Doctor Strange movie in 2016 and will be gradually built up over a few more films.

Other possible Big Bads we may encounter down the road would include Kang, Korvac, Red Hulk, World War Hulk, and the Supreme Intelligence.

Then there are also events you can use, such as the Kree-Skrull war.

Certain old villain can also come back, like Loki or Ultron, imagine Ultron sliping into the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe, a lot of dangerous things could happen, the Annihilation event sort of used this idea.

Kang The Conquerer makes the most sense to me. The dream is for the fantastic four to come back to marvel and we get Galactus.

I expect the FF rights to revert long before we see the end of Thanos.

At that point I would expect Galactus to show up in proper form. He could be Thanos' puppetmaster and Thanos' could attempt to break free and overthrow him.

I could die happy if I saw Thanos and Galactus face off on the big screen.

Phase 4 Masters of Evil (with hints to and omens of Galactus)
and
Phase 5 Galactus (this would be in the 2025 range so theres another chance for rights to revert by then)

If Marvel gets the FF back, then it should be Doom. I know some want Galactus, but I think Doom deserves to be the big bad of a phase.

If not, do Secret Wars. It would still be in line with the cosmic stuff, but very much different in narrative.

I would say the big question is what will the repercussions and fallout from Infinity War be? It will likely be the end of Thanos so what would the next logical step? Thanos wants to destroy the MCU ending all life. Where do you go from there without being redundant? The next chapter would probably be the origin or creation of these relics themselves leading us to the most ancient beings in the universe. All of the elders and the celestials and even cosmic entities like Living Tribunal, Nemesis, Beyonders, but if you ask me, The Living Tribunal seems like something that could come into play since the cosmic laws are likely to be broken. I can see any of these things playing a major role.

Galactus is the easiest answer but why ponder on a character they don't have.
