Who would play an incredible Dracula these days?

Mark Strong. I know the guy is typecast as villains as much as Sean Bean is typecast as roadkill, but I really think he'd nail it to the wall with this role.

I know I'll get crucified for this, but my second choice would be

What can I say a lot us women love the jerks of the world or atleast the dudes who play jerks really well. My sister loves him as well.

Anyway to answer the threads question I'd be happy with Fassbender or Cumberbatch amnd yes that is the horn dog in my speaking...mostly.

Yeah, I remember when Worthington was slated for Dracula Year Zero to play Vlad the Impaler. Glad that never happened - he just doesn't have the 'presence.'

Naw man, Denzel Washington would be the most out of the box casting. But he would be marvelous. He hasn't been enough villains to be honest.

As much as I don't really care about changing the race of many fictional characters...seriously, Dracula? He's based on a 14th century Romanian warlord. About as far as you could go on the color palette would be a Middle-Eastern actor, not an African-American.

On the other hand, I'm all up for a buddy-warlord action-comedy featuring Vlad Tepes and his Blackamoor mercenary friend as they battle the nefarious Mehmed II! Or some such thing. Javier Bardem and Idris Elba can both be in the movie then.

Remember, in the novel - and this is the only way to go IMO, Count Dracula appears at first as an elderly person but later is seen by Jonathan Harker as becoming young! So we need a fairly young actor in makeup starting the film and getting younger futher in the story. Don't know how young, Bram Stoker doesn't say.

Yeah, James Franco would be interesting.

I need to give him a chance though. From what all the Sherlock fans say, he's supposed to be a pretty damn good actor. I may be cracking jokes about him but I really am looking forward to seeing how he performs in the new Star Trek.

Actually, he was pretty damn good in Machine Gun Preacher. I'm not a huge fan of his but I'll say that might just be his best performance.
