Venom actually was in only one episode in the symbiote costume trilogy...so that's 20 minutes just like SM3 :woot:

But at least he did more in the cartoon. Like visiting Peter at home and stalking him. I wish he would've done that in the movie. Really, and entire movie about Venom stalking Peter, messing with his head, getting near his loved ones, and Peter knowing full well that he could strike at any time, that would've been so great.

Hopw com ethe 90s cartoon isnt on freakin DVD yet.. iv ebeen waiting since SM1.. they release stupid BS toons from back in the day on dvd all the time.. but NOTa good one like SM... i want it

That happened in the first movie with the Goblin. Enough already.

Exactly, and that's the problem with Venom's character, and him being the most overrated villain created. Everything he does, either Green Goblin or Doc Ock has already done. :o

The cartoon. Not only is the Spider-Man in the toon how he should be, but Christopher Daniel-Barnes will always be Spider-Man for me.

Not really, Peter didn't know Norman was the Goblin and Norman didn't know that Peter was Spidey. After Norman knew that Peter was Spidey he attacked Aunt May and kidnapped MJ. So no, the first Movie is nothing like I suggested.

Fanboys are so funny.

The one thing I give the cartoon show above SM3 is that it gave Venom enough screentime and developed him post-transformation better (albeit Brock pre-transformation was really lame).

I loved the cartoon, it was a great show, especially for kids but I saw it again last year and it is meant for kids. If you want to complain about shallow villains than watch that.

And after season 1, overstuffing how many episodes did we have where it'd be Kingpin, Smythe, Silvermaine, Tombstone, Lizard, Scorpion and Vulture in one freaking episode? Or Venom, Carnage, Iron Man, War Machine and that weird inter-diemnsion guy?

That makes SM3 look well paced. But it is a cartoon show driven by action for kids. The movies have a resonance with the main three characters (Peter, MJ and Harry) and their tangled relationships which the third did flawlessly. In fact I think 3 would have been a lot better if Sandman wasn't even in it and it was 90 minutes of Peter/Harry/MJ with developing Brock more and then Venom could have more building time to make his move without a lame team-up.

But in short the movie handeled just about everything better than the cartoon and this is ridiculous. Do I need to remind you that in the cartoon Harry's transformatioin ends with him being talked out of it and Pete's edding day by Liz and not doing anything? Or GG1 being stuck in an "alternate demnsion," really talking to Harry?

No thanks. And as disappointed as I was by little Aunt May the cartoon was less.

Norman knew who Spidey was. He stalked and attacked his loved ones. Peter realized after May's attack that the Goblin knew who he was and thus those he loved were in danger.

More of the same with Eddie wouldn't justify an entire movie. It would get boring very fast as it does in the comics, and anyone but Venom fans would be wondering why Spider-Man doesn't make a stand, find Venom's weakness and put his lights out.

Id rather stick needles in my eyes than ever be subjected to that stupid crappy cartoon ever again.

Yea and those 20 minutes Venom was better handled then in the movie.I think Harry is better handled in the movie then the show but without a doubt Venom is better handled in the 90's cartoon then the movie.

Cartoon:

-Developed Venom and the symbiote much better
-Gave Gwen Stacy a meaning
-Had actual Goblin suit

Movie 3:

-Had Sandman
-Better developed Harry
-Live action

I think she was only in one Episode. She was the fiance of a rich Peter Parker from an alternate universe.

gwen was only in the series finale or a least a version of her in the "iron man "type spidey's world as the fiancee of the more succesfuf webspinner

The cartoon. It handled the symbiote/Venom thing much better.

And btw, where's the season box sets of the show? Batman: TAS got its.

As much as I liked Spidey 3 I do think the costume/Venom was handled better in the cartoon . . but maybe that's revisionist thinking.

Topher should have lost his apartment like the cartoon, and he should lamented in that cheesy New York accent about it . . "I lost my job, my girlfriend, my apahtment! It's all spidah man's fault!" I love that scene in the cartoon! Brock was hilarious.

My mistake, Gwen was only in one episode. I was thinking about someone else.

I really don't want to see SM3 again. That movie was horrible to me.

well the venom saga is on dvd.. but why isnt the whole series on dvd is what i meant... i want it

If Raimi would have followed the TAS, he would have ended up with something much better than the crap he served the world in Spider-Man 3.
