Whole Lotta Love gets my vote simply for the guitar intro... I get pumped just thinking about it. However, not to detract from the other song, any Zeppelin is good Zeppelin.

"Whole Lotta Love". It just rocks. And the instruemntal break is out of this world. Though again, Zeppelin rule all.

The Wilhelm signal is lit!

Hahaha

Listen, WIAWSNB is the best song in the Universe......and Whole Lotta Love is then better than that.

Whole Lotta Love isn't a "song".
It's a Cosmic Element.

We have "Fire"....."Sex"....."Fear"....."The Color Red"....."Winter"...etc.

And we have "Whole Lotta Love".

I love the solo so much that I was just shopping for guitars last Friday, and I hung out trying different ones out for 3.5 hours ('cause I was about to spend a lot of money and wanted a good one), and always, the first thing I play to get a sense of the qualities/short-comings of the guitar is the solo to Whole Lotta Love.

You have the *Bowh Bowh* so you get how beefy the low end is, and then you have the *buh neeyow buh nyeeow berh-diddle-uh byeeowr buh NyEeOwr* to get a sense if the highs are tinny or textured and wooden.

Then you have the one part to get a feel for wild bends as is, and you get to feel how good the neck and width feels on the fast part.

It is proof that Rock is not about technique or speed because it's heavier, more sexy and sinister/awesome sounding than any Metal song ever written, and yet I could teach a chimp to play the riff at least.

The singing is other worldly. The drums are the best drums in the Galaxy and Jimmy Page is God.

But WIAWSNB is just "Effing Genius".....not "F***ing Cosmos-Shaking God Damned GeeEEEeen-YusS".

i taught jimmy page how to play that song.

Whole Lotta Love. I love the solo. I just thought a few weeks ago "Wait a minute...why haven't I learned to play this yet?" and sat down with the song. I learned it. I was happy.

That's the measure of a man, can you play the solo to Whole Lotta Love.

Anyway, if you want a real song battle, try

The Immigrant Song
vs.
Kashmir
vs.
When The Levee Breaks
vs.
In My Time Of Dying
vs.
Heartbreaker
vs.
Custard Pie
vs.
Black Dog
vs.
Over The Hills And Far Away
vs.

Can't be done but I'm just saying.

I don't pick which Zeppelin song is better.

I listen to the entire album

I'm going to go with Whole Lotta Love but to be certain of my decision I'm going to need some shrooms and a joint.
The only part of my youth that I miss, okay one part of it.

Over The Hills And Far Away is the best Led Zeppelin Song ever and largely the reason Houses of the Holy is their best album. Along with The Ocean being a much better Bonham-centric masterpiece than Black Dog. I think Kashmir is actually one of the most flawed tracks on what I consider their second best album.
