Hard pick between Norman and Roderick. Sure Norman knows Peter's ID (but who doesnt these days?)

LOL! True.

But at least Norman's done something with that knowledge, unlike a certain stupid slobbery tongued drool face I can think of.

Yes, Venom is a poor man's Green Goblin. Nothing but a slobbering, brain eating (he needs some) dumb brawler type with no sense of showmanship. "You made me lose my job! I could just get another one, but I'm going to dedicate my life to having pointless fights with you! Rarrrrgh!"

yeah demogoblin he acts like a cliched mental hospital escapee thats why i don't like him much
of the villians polled however i wouldn't want to tangle withANY OF THEM:ninja:

I thought i might be a little left field with this one but I always saw harry as being more dangerous than Norman.

not only does he know more about peter's friends and how to hurt him, he also carries around the burden of knowing that his father was killed by him (which is greater than norman's sibling killing vendetta he has).

plus wasn't his goblin formula the greatest enhancer of abilities, which would also mean it provided the greatest level of insanity.

but that's just me...

Yeah but Harry was always Peter's best friend underneath it all and would never really hurt any of Peter's loved ones.
See (the classic) SSM Vol1 #200- at the beginning Harry kidnaps MJ takes here atop the bridge and then proceeds to tell her just that that he meant her no harm. He just wanted to talk to her because he loved her.

Harry did not really believe Spidey killed his dad cause he saw it all w/ his own eyes, GG killed/impaled himself. It was just easier for him to place the blame on PP.

Norman on the other hand was more of a loose cannon and actually hated PP.
Towards the end of his original life (heh, ASM circa 1973) GG and NO personalities actually just merged into one and he personally held PP accountable for all the bad that had come of Harry, drugs etc, and we saw the results of this.

Norman was in no doubt more dangerous than Harry.

yeah, way more, you can't beat norman, except roderick on occasion was a little more dangerous.

Norman.

Rodderick is a cool character, no ifs or buts about it. But in the end he is a copy. He just can't touch Norman.

And to those who say Norman hasn't done much with Peter's identity....excuse me come again? Now whether all the stories are great or all crap, or a mix (my opinion) he has....

Killed Gwen Stacy, made Peter think he was a clone, killed Ben Reilly, killed Peter's daughter Little May Parker, turned the whole city against Spider-Man for a time, made Peter become the Green Goblin shortly, almost sell his soul, hesitate, put Flash Thompson in a coma when trying to kill him, made him break his morals to break him out of prison to save Aunt May, made Peter think Aunt May was dead, kidnapped MJ and almost killed her (ironically he has only done it once, he keeps it down to a norm) and KILLED HIS HAMPSTER.

If that ain't an ******* I don't know what is. He enjoys playing mind games with him instead of outright killing him. He in fact made it so Spidey was supposed to kill him and replace him and something along the lines of Star Wars **** but it didn't work out. Sure Rodderick is sane and would just plain kill him and MJ clean, but that is why he is not as engaging a villain and why Norman Osborn was the first villain to the screen and Roderick Kingsley will likely never though.

When?? :o

Norman is the #1.I would say he's Peter's living nightmare...

You **** too! That excellent character which is second to none is excellent, you'd be pissed too if your life was ruined by some assclown in red and blue tights! And besides Green Goblin wears purple panties and elf boots, that not very showmanship either!

:meow:

How is Elf boots and purple pants not the height of showmanship?
His costume practically screams- ‘LOOK AT ME I AM THE GREEN GOBLIN B-ITCH!!!!’

One problem that Venom and GG have both suffered w/ at various stages of their life in publication is that they have both been overused, which diluted their potency down a bit.
Venom in the 90's, and Norman from 96 till present.
Venom however, has also suffered from sometimes contradictory writing and now he is… (well in a hospital bed, heh) but before that he had basically relinquished being Venom.
So he was no longer the force he once was.

I like the new Venom tho, he has actually succeeded in the original Venom's ultimate goal- killing Spider-man see- Beyond#2. We're on #3 now and you should check it out. They (the writers at Marvel) are basically forging Venom/Gargan as a Jason Macendale type spaz, only the difference is that he has actually succeeded were his predecessor (and Mac) failed. Quite something to hold up against the nay Sayers of this character if you ask me.

Big up VenomIII!

Easily agreed, Dangerous.

In my opinion, I think Norman should've stayed dead. I mean, his final confrontation with Spidey was incredible, and bringing him back with the stories i've read of today, they aren't that good, getting Gwen knocked up for example.

See I stopped reading 616 (The current stuff) awhile ago, nothing good is coming out of it. (I can't say for everything, but from what i've heard). As for Venom III, I haven't read much about him other then to know that some gangsters boss had the symbiote, and it left him to join with Scorpion. I hope the symbiote rejoins with Eddie Brock once again, to make the true Venom. Maybe i'll start looking back into the 616. But that's a different post for a different thread.

I would like what they are doing with norman if they would use different writers, I do agree that they have turned him into a clown, nice to see so many opinions.

I've heard of and seen all the Goblins, but I don't think i've ever heard of Grey Goblin.

Read Sins Past to find out about Grey Goblin, actually dont bother it's, well ...:cmad:

I voted for Green Goblin I. If you have read the "Osborn Journal", then you may agree with me on a point: he's a true evil genius, his hatred for parker mixed with his intelligence and willpower make him a living tragedy.
