Who's the Better Director?

lol i know but 10,000 BC was really bad so i had to go with the other director

Easily Bay. I still love the first Bad Boys.

Emmerich. Bay has a taste for overloading a film with unfunny and offensive comic relief. Emmerich can't beat him in that regard.

Emmerich. This man made some great blockbusters
-Universal Soldier: one of the few good JCVD movies
-Stargate: A few creative sci-fi movie
-Independance Day:Just awesome
-Godzilla:Yeah someone likes it. No, I love it. I could watch it all the time, and still enjoy the other Godzilla movies just as much.

Everything else is pretty bad though. And Bay only made one decent movie(Transformers).

Stargate is his only good movie. Bay's mediocre movies are way more watchable than Emmerich's.

Michael Bay because of The Rock (great action movie), Armageddon, The Island, & Transformers 1

Ugh...

Emmerich I suppose.

Stargate is better than anything Bay has ever done.

That said Bay is probably more consistent... all of his films are the same level of piffle, lowest common denominator garbage but relatively watchable (even if you wish certain characters would die or suffer incredibly, when they're supposed to be characters you should feel sympathetic for...) where Emmerich can be up and down... sometimes within minutes...

I can see this being an age thing where some of the olders will vote for Emerich and the kids going Bay... ID4 was IMMENSE when I was in school.

Im the opposite, I can barely sit through, Bays movies. The Rock and Bad Boys were the closest I've ever been to being physically tourtured. Thankfully I turned Bad Boys off before it killed me, and I shudder to think what will happen if I watched Bad Boys 2. And Armageddon, and The Island seem to be the few blockbusters that can put me to sleep.

I dunno the first half of Bad Boys 2 I enjoyed over the whole of the first Bad Boys (which I don't think much of) but the second half just got ridiculously preposterously dull (if that makes sense), at least the first half was preposterous fun. Worth watching for some of the action sequences if you got a spare night with nothing to do.

Okay, next showdown:

Frank Darabont vs. Darren Aronofsky

Well, Shawshank is one of the best movies of all time, so I gotta go Darabont. I did pick up The Fountain for $5 at Best Buy this weekend though, lol.

Hmm I've never seen a Darren Aronofsky movie. And for Darabont I find the green mile annoying(due to the constant plays on tv), The Mist ending loltastic, and The Majestic puts me to sleep. Not to mention his screenplays for some movies I didn't like. Shawshank I havne't seen in years.

So Darabont. Only cus I haven't see any of Aronofskys work.

Darabont.

4-2 Darabont so far.
