Brown and Shea share the fact that they were incredibly charismatic AND incredibly menacing all the time. Rosenbaum oozes charisma, but not so much with the menace - he doesn't seem that threatening. Spacey is a little too goofy, but at least he's better than Hackman, who sucked through and through. I'm not familiar with Talbot's version, haven't seen it.

I very intreseted from an SV fans point of view to see who's going to win this poll .

I know if this was a superman forum [Brown would win this poll by knockout, But with an Sv fan it's more than likely Rosenbaum will win this poll here.]

Well you should seperate the animated ones from the live action ones.

Exactly. Posting this on the Smallville forum naturally skews the results.

yes, However I as many as many other superman fans plus DC comics, Think The Animated version were much more true to the mythology than the live action ones , as well as The animated version had better writters.

I believe the animated version have a right to be including because their just as good as the live action version, and in someways even better.

For exmaple before "Batman Begins", to many fans Kevin Conroy is known as THE BEST BATMAN ever. due to BTAS, & JL / JLU. Now with Bale badas preformance in Begins, he's earned a place among fans as The Best BATMAN, howver he still shares that spot with Conroy .

No one outside of the Internet considers Conroy or voice actors the best of any character. It's dumb logic, let's put all those live actors and one dude who did the voice of a cartoon version. I hate it when people put those oranges into the apple comparason and put too much stock into it. I remember before Begins like a few people were sweating Mask of Phatasm as the best Batman movie....I was like GTFOH lol

It's still the best Batman movie.

It's dumb logic? No, they're still actors and their vocal performances are still superior to many live action ones. Which says a lot for how much they pull off with just their voices.

No one outside the Internet thinks that? Go to San Diego Comic-Con sometime and you'll find a different story.

That's not true, I've been to quite a bit Comic book conventions and this issue is brought up alot, and conroy wins it everytime.

to many Batman fans MOTP is still The Best BATMAN movie.

I wouldnt put voice actors on the list. While I love Clancy Brown in virtually everything he's done, he couldnt look any less like Lex Luthor and thats a big component to "portraying" someone. Only geeks put voice actors on par with stage/screen actors.

Yay! for skewed results.

No contest.. Rosie all the way. :D

Hell yeah it is , the whole reason people use live action actors in the debate cause it makes the debate way more credible and makes more sense. With live action actors you take into account there apperance, looks , expression, delivery, action/fighting, humour and range in delivering the character. With the cartoons its more just the voice, if anything the credit goes to Dini/Timm not the voice actors.
And the people at comic-Cons ARE the geeks on the net who say that redundant shyt so it's nullus there reaching in the debate.

I voted for Rosebaum because he's the only won to make you feel for Lex, in my opinion villians need that human quality to keep them real, moving to the evilness of Shea (who for some reason makes me sick to my stomack) and Spacey makes him feel like cartoon villians who ahve no reason or motives for what they do. I enjoyed Hackman but he was to camp to care either way for him, but he was entertaining.

Edit: Mash of the Phatansim is the best Batman movie out there, I agree that voice actor should not be considered in this debate but MOTP has as much right as any other Batman film to get the title because its story was great.

Comic book conventions are filled with the geeks on the net who post that. Now before you jigs go revenge of the nerds on me understands the logistics. There hardcore mentality makes them feel that because they know or percieved to have seen and read all adaptations and seen examples of the character they can bring the cartoon argument but what makes the actor debate credible is the points I made above in the last post. Live action trumps a voice...

And if you put a poll anywhere on the internet on what the best Batman movie Batman Begins and Batman 89 are gonna take that shyt harder than Micheal Jackson and R. Kelly in a play pen at Chuck-e-Cheese (No Lawsuit). MOTP isnt even a factor

6. BATS 89

7. BATS RETURNS

8. BATS Forever

9. B&R

On BOF

So basically you're saying that the opinions of geeks don't matter, because they know too much about the character. The opinions of the public matter more, because they have never seen the animated film, and the few examples they know are somehow more valid.

No **** Batman '89 and Batman Begins would win such a poll. As I said, most people never even saw MOTP. Their loss.

No, read what I said was that there hardcore mentality feels that they can throw ANY adaptation in there. Again what makes the comparison more credible is that it's live actors a voice is a voice. The fact that people havent seen the cartoons further proves that point. Sure there great adaptations probably the best at staying true to the character but with live action actors credit your argument.
It's like saying who's the best player in the NBA and somebody votes Ricky Davis just cause the nygga can dunk hard. Great but what about everything else?

I dont see Begins in there do I?

I just said 2 posts ago while I think Dini/Timm is the most faithful adaptation that doesnt mean it's the most popular (like you said yourself) getting 34 people in a poll on the net is a small snapshot to even credit your argument. But you never ponder that you just use search button desperatly to find old polls from 2 years ago. I even said that back 03-04 people were sweating the Dini/Timm era more, now with BB and the re-release of the old movies on DVD opinon swings. Movies are gonna last longer
Look at some of the recent polls
