Why all the hate over the flag shot?

Well their are flag shots in Spidey 1 & 2 yet no one complains. I only think people are complaining about it is because the movie was not as good as we thought or hoped it to be. The movie was ok but it doesn't deserve to have every single thing picked and poked and torn apart from it.

The flag scene really stuck out to me in this one... and I thought it was kind of over the top. Actually that whole intro to the final battle was pretty damn dumb to me with all the annoying kids and reporter.

Technically The US is a Republic. Yeah and if you really hate the government that much then you should leave. i really don't understand this. god forbid there be any patriotism anymore. i keep reading posts where people "cringe/roll there eyes" at this shot. what exactly is the problem? is it because it's the cool thing to hate America? is it because you don't think Spider-Man should be associated with America? i'm not patriotic, but i don't see why people would show disdain for this shot. i don't want this to into a political thread, although i'm sure it will. either way i'm glad Raimi included the shot.

I love the shot, Spidey is an American Hero, and it should be in there. I'm tired of hearing crap like that. Are we still proud of our country or are they just gonna' let it turn into mexico. seriously with all the immigrants, some act like it's racist to be a proud american, it's like what if we went to england and saw one of their characters standing in front of a British flag would we be offended, I wouldn't be, I'd think it nice that they love their country and are proud and put that moment in with one of their heroes which they think stands for some of their ideals.

Like with Spidey,he's a good person, a great hero, he is american and we should all be proud to live in this country, and if you don't like it here, then get out! This is America, we can have a flag in our movies if we want to! Nuff' said!!! God Bless America!!!

What's going to happen with the Captain America movie then? They'd better do it right and not act like it's embarrassing, 'cause it's not, it's a good thing to be a proud American.
