Venom isn't in the trailer...

Sam Raimi himself said Venom wouldn't be in the trailer...and all these attempts at saying that he is is getting tiresome...it's become the new "THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE EYE!?!?! OMGWTFBBQ" thing. i've scrutinized the trailer too just incase there is this "glimps" people have been talking about...trust me...there isn't.

i don't know why i'm even bothering with this...plenty of you will probably call me an jerk or whatever, i really don't care.

Sam Raimi, the director of all the Spider-Man movies INCLUDING this one, said Venom isn't in the trailer...there's not much more to it than that.

the left picture is simply spiderman with his chin down blocking the upper part of the upper spider arms.

Raimi also said Venom will love VERY MUCH like he does in the comics.

eddie looking up and saying "Parker" is the venom tease, it is set up to look like he's stand out side the church, and see's peter up in the tower riping the suit off, we are lead to assume that from there the symbote finds its where to Eddie

yeah...Eddie is keeping tabs on Parker for JJJ and taking pictures of him.

i was hoping we'd get a suicidal Brock who goes to the church to repent for his sinful thoughts (he's a hardcore christian in the comics) and there's when the symbiote leaking through the floorboards onto him from the belltower....and if we don't get that, as long as it's good for the movie, i'll be happy with a lot of things.

but it doesn't look like we're getting that...but maybe...we'll just have to wait and see.

I never liked the suicidal hardcore christian,eddie, it makes him seem kinda weak, I like paranoid, angry, revengeful, Eddie whose hatred for peter and Spiderman is what drives him, and that rage and hatred is what attracts the symbiote to him.

but what makes Eddie hate spidey in this movie? all we know is that he's a photographer trying to get dirt on Peter...it would be nice if we got the twist of Eddie trying to frame Spidey and then Spidey vindicating himself and in doing so JJJ fires him for making him look like a fool and publishing false info on spidey.

that way Eddie has a way to really hate spidey...that's how it happens in the comics...he loses his job, then his wife, then his apartment, and becomes suicidal.

but, i'm very trustful of Raimi and open to a new origin as long as it's done well (duh)...i just think it would be cool.

we don't know that this isn't what happeneds, it could still follow that storyline, up to just before the suicidal thing, i think its better, if he just gets really p!ssed about it, and seeks out revenge, instead of being suicidal
as dark as this movie looks like it's going i think suicidial eddie would just not work in good

Some good thoughts. I like how you've taken the classic origin from the comics and interwoven them with elements from the first two films.

Dude.. When i posted the picture, I certainly did NOT mean because we cannot see the upper part of the Spider. I'm *NOT* an IDIOT.

What I mean is the angles of the spider, the color, and the general shape.

On the left we have a taller symbol, perhaps from stretching, but it's also WHITER and it seems to be less angular.

Furthermore, using the suit's webbing as "grids" look at where the symbols legs start and end... seems a little off, but I also think that they made they enhance the symbol to make it look more "white"!

One last thing. Look at the one on the left's head, where his mouth is. You don't see any webbing. Go back and look at it in the trailer. It seems... "off". Perhaps they edited out the ol' slobbery mouth to keep us guessing...

That's just one fanboy's wet dream... take it or leave it!!!

I don't think we'll be getting a lot of glimpses of Venom before the movie hits. I think he'll be the Lord Voldemort of Spider-Man 3, where his appearance is shown briefly in the full trailer and his "resurrection" is shown at the end of the movie (much to the pleasure of movie-goers)

It is probably the spider just evolving on the suit throughout the movie.

Maybe we are looking at him during half the trailer and we just dont know it. I was wondering, when peter takes off his costume as eddy watchs, maybe eddy puts it on and the symbiot passes on spidermans powers to him. Does that make sense? Peter doesnt have his costume wen he is fighting harry, the ooze doesnt come off in the bell tower the costume did. What if Eddy puts it on? And looks the exact same?

I'm pretty sure that the only reason for the slight difference in color is that the swinging shot on the left(Which is CLEARLY Spidey swinging in to kick Sandman) is inside a subway tunnel with some lighting nearby, while the "Crouched in the rain" shot is outside on a rainy night, hence a bit darker. Also the slight difference in the chest symbols POSITION is probably just due to the fact that the swinging shot is a CG Spidey shot while the other one looks to be live action. The animators probably just didnt sync it up exactly, either because it might not be a finished shot or just might be a minor gaff on their part. Either way, the shot on the left is definitely NOT Venom. Oh and as for the face....I can see the webbing, its just blurred because spidey is swinging towards the camera so fast in that shot.

But yet, that has been my fear since DAY 1 of me being on this board... that Venom is nothing more than anti-Spidey.
