Enough of the Bull****:Darthphere Presents: Why do you hate Marvel?

Phere hates Spider-Man, Cool this means that I never have to care about Darthphere's opinions ever again. Oh wait, that would mean I would have had to have cared about his opinions in the first place, never mind.

:D

How did you get "Phere hates Spider-Man" from "I never cared for him"?:huh::huh::huh:

Because the world is black and white. You either hate him or you love him. Indifference is not an option, you gray-tinged hippie.

Sorry, the thread was "Why you hate Marvel" and I'm used to a people talking about how much they hate Marvel; people who either love or hate things with no in between. Not going to name names though.

Mighty Avengers sucks.

Jeph Loeb is the worst person in the world. Everything he does--Onslaught Reborn, Hulk, and especially Ultimates 3--is absolute **** and, in the case of Ultimates 3, has killed of one of Marvel's greatest franchises.

One More Day sucked (though it's not the worst Spidey story), but at least Quesada drew a badass Mephisto.

The X-Men line is a complete ****ing mess. Seems like ever since Morrison left, the creative staff for the X-books went into a complete tailspin and spent four years ****ting on their side of the MU until today, where we've reached the same point we were when Morrison finished NXM.

The Knaufs are leaving Iron Man: Director of SHIELD. Fraction and Aja are leaving Immortal Iron Fist. Ennis is leaving Punisher MAX. Ellis and Deodato Jr. are leaving Thunderbolts. WHY WHY WHY?!?!

Marvel keeps hiring Joss Whedon, who couldn't hand in a script on time if his life depended on it. He has also managed to kill Runaways, of the company's best new franchises.

The hell?

To move on to other projects and inject new life into other characters, perhaps?

Marvel keeps hiring Joss Whedon? I was aware of a whopping two gigs that Joss Whedon has done for Marvel. Am I missing some?

Besides, he's handed in all his scripts on time. Pretty much everyone knows that it's been the artists' fault for the lateness.

...So wait, what are the two missing letters supposed to be?
You can't guess? It's not actually a censored Hype word, I just did it to be, y'know, nice.

I figured it was just cockbucket and you dropped an asterisk, I just got my hopes up that maybe there was some three-lettered C-word swear that I'd never heard before. Like a really good German one or something.

What can I say, I'm a man who likes expanding his lexicon.

Fine, fine, it's cumbucket. Y'know, a bucket of ***. Learn it, use it, love it.

I'm surprised it wasn't obvious, but then again I didn't learn about an alternate word for semen until I began middle school. So...

Question: When was Ultimates ever one of Marvel's greatest titles? It's not even the best Ulltimate title, let alone one of the greatest.

Before Goeff Loeb came in and made it so s**ty, nobody will care when the Ultimate universe ends.

Goeff Loeb

So Geoff Johns and Jeph Loeb had a bastard child that ruined Ultimates?

LOL WUT?

[blackout]I heart the Ultimates, so shaddup.[/blackout]

Ultimates was good but it's like it's ever gonna be on the list of all time great runs or anything. And yes I'm talking about Millar.

Ultimates was freakin awesome man, especially vol.2, every issue blew my mind, come on, who didnt completely s*** their pants when Hawkeye killed all those henchmen with his fingernails? Or when Tony smashed black widows' face in?

I'm sure 13-year-olds and misogynists the world over rejoiced. ;)

I hate how they handled Ultimate Iron Man, turned him into a human shaped brain, come on, while I like Orson Scott Card, I didn't care for his direction of the character, I loved Ultimate Iron man when he first premired in Ultimates, but after UIM 1 & 2 I was put off, that just maybe me.

I hate how they handled pretty much everyone. Wait...yep, everyone.

I tried looking at the Ultimate characters as just alternate versions that don't say anything about the originals, but I can't help thinking that every character is in some way a kind of running commentary on why their original counterparts don't work as well as they used to.

Although, I have to admit, I did like Ultimate Beast in the few Ultimate X-Men issues I read. He was refreshingly... not cat-faced or boring. But X-Men: First Class lets me get old-school, fun Beast without having to read any of the other crappy Ultimate characters, so I got over him pretty quick.

Ultimate Beast was a *****e. He was a pity party with big feet. He's much, much better in First Class. I ****ing love the First Class books, actually.

I guess I didn't stick around long enough to get to the pity part. He seemed pretty much like his old-school self to me. Then again, I did quit reading Ultimate X-Men as soon as I saw Nightcrawler mowing people down with a machine gun, which was pretty early on. I don't think I even finished that issue; I saw the Nightcrawler-with-machine-gun panel, closed the comic, and never looked back.
