How do you know it's the writers who have bad grammar? What if the CHARACTER WHO IS SPEAKING has the bad grammar? Ever read anything that involves the Thing, or Wolverine, or any character with a similar accent?

i completely agree.
i think it has a lot to do with the character that's talking.
like Wolverine for example. or Gambit.
most of the **** they say is NEVER grammatically correct.

Incorrect spelling or grammar (outside of character speech) looks very sloppy in anything that gets published although it's not too frequent in anything I read.

The editors of such books should be fired. And you wonder why comic books are looked down upon! LOL

Green Lantern #13 has a nice example. On page 24, the cyborg superman announces, "This is only the first stage of evolution for me and my manhunters, Jordan!"


It should read, "my manhunters and I, Jordan!"

Perhaps mandatory attendance at a grammar rodeo is required to compensate these poor wordsmiths.

it basically depends on when you put the referral to yourself in the sentence. If it proceeds other details, then it's 'me'. If it comes at the end, then it's 'I'

In an overzealous attempt to be correct, most people actually end up so scared of "Me an' Timmy went down to the cement pond." (which should be "Timmy and I went down to the cement pond.") that they always think "I" is correct.
Not always the case.

Putting 'me' or 'I' after the other person(s) in the sentence is just a matter of being polite. Using 'me' versus 'I' depends if you are the subject of the sentence (the one doing the action, performing the verb in the sentence - use I) or if you're object (the one who receives the action - use me).

Correct: Dad and I left early. or I and Dad left early. (No one uses 'I' first, but it's technically correct.)
Incorrect: Dad and me left early. or Me and Dad left early.

Correct: Bring the bowl to Dad and me. or Bring the bowl to me and Dad.
Incorrect: Bring the bowl to Dad and I.
