Seriously, they know who they want for Dent, they probably already signed him, so why are they making us wait like this? What difference would it make whether it's released 10 days away, or now? Nothing, it would make no difference, so why the wait? Just so the confirmation can conveniently coincide with the release of The Prestige, which happens to have the same director that's involved with both? Please, I just wanna get this news now, so I can start getting used to Nolan's choice. This is ridiculous.

They don't make announcements just to please a few hundred people on this forum. Who says the deal is done and dusted anyway?

Your rant is ridiculous. Why can't you just wait another 10 days if that's the case? Quit being such a whiny-ass baby! I'm sick of these silly fan-boys that think they are entitled to know anything and everything that's going on with a production, especially considering that the movie is still TWO years away.

Nolan doesn't owe you anything, so get used to that idea first and then you can "worry" about getting used to who'll play Dent.

Oh shut up. This is eating up EVERYONE inside! Everyone wants to know who Dent is and they wanna know ASAP. Hell, I'm not the first person to question why they haven't released it yet. As a matter of fact, that's what I hear on boards all over the internet; "what's taking them so long?", "why don't they just release it now?" and so on and so on.

I suppose they wait until the last feasible minute to release the news so that juuuuust in case there's a change of plans, like the planets realigning and dictating an alteration in casting, they don't have to look stupid and back-peddle.

Ever hear of "spare time"? Well, that's what I have right now - "spare time". And in my "spare time", I follow Batman news.

What do you do in YOUR "spare time"?

So we can't be enthusiastic about movies anymore?

Whats up with people and the new thread button these days?

it's called building hype. The longer they make us wait, the more we want it. The more we'll be excited about the movie, the more we'll talk about it, the more word of mouth it makes, the more advertising they get, the more people go see the movie, the more money they make. It's an advertising strategy.

Pfttt....I know. I mean...why haven't they released the movie yet? I mean..what the ****? Release the ****ing movie already!!!!! Goddammit....I hate it when they do this.....****....

I feel your pain, General.

But not really.

It's not that big of a deal. They'll announce it when they announce it.

/thread.

Seriously, chill out. It's not a big deal. There's this thing called "patience". You should ty it.

Quit being a little girl. You'll find out soon enough like the rest of us so relax.

I honestly don't know how you're going to survive the next year and a half, if you can't even wait for a damn casting announcement.

It'll come with it comes.

you know..if we were not on here every day checking for news..you would probably find that news is faster than we all think.

Really, the key to waiting is simply not caring. Me? I don't give a damn when Dent is cast, which leaves me to be, dare I say, fun and fancy free.

Now that Nolan is in full pre-production mode there's going to be a steady stream of info from now until release time anyway. The dry spell is almost over. I'll be glad when the endless casting speculation is over. But then we'll be back to endless debates about the cape clasps so maybe not.

The only way that would make sense, based on what *I'M* saying, was if the movie was already fully complete; special FX, musical score, credits, the scenes, etc. and for no good reason, they decide to hold it off for a year and a half. Why? I have no idea...it's fully complete and ready to go, so why not get all of the promotion done and out of the way and then release the movie?

Get what I mean?

If you don't, then how about this example. You go into McDonalds and order some food. After paying the cashier, 2 minutes passes by, and they tell you "alright sir, your food is ready, but just for the heck of it, we're gonna wait an hour before we give it to".

Or how about this? You go into a Best Buy and you buy a nice 72 inch plasma screen tv, but just for the hell of it, they tell you they can't deliver it to you for another 3 months. Well why not? They could easily deliver it to you pretty darn soon, but why make you wait?

Same thing with Harvey Dent casting. He's cast now, so they could easily get the press release ready for Variety and other trusted news outlets to report it, but they choose to make us wait. Why? To build the suspence? We've been building the suspence for the casting of this role ever since Goyer said Harvey would be in this movie and eventually become Two-Face; almost a year and a half now. We've had to go through many different rumours about who'd play Dent. Some good (Schreiber, Pearce), some bad (Timberlake, Phillippe), and now that the role is officially cast, I just wanna know who's playing Dent so, as I said earier, I can get used to who's playing Dent and start worrying about other aspects of the film.
