Great post. He's plausible. It's almost like believing in Santa for me, except instead of getting presents when you're good, when you're bad Batman will find you and give you a beatdown.
I don't even consider the possibility that I could become Batman, it's more like, I have to believe that there is someone out there who has the dedication and goodness to fight a one-man war against evil and corruption. Batman wouldn't be nearly so convincing for me if Gotham weren't so rotten to begin with.
Everytime I hear about some terrorist attack or shooting of civilians, I really really wish Batman existed in real life.

Touching...He's plausible. It's almost like believing in Santa for me, except instead of getting presents when you're good, when you're bad Batman will find you and give you a beatdown.

I laugh at posts like this no way is batman plausible.
He never said Batman was plausible, he said he wished he could exist.
I agree with him, if Batman were to exist I think he could transcend culture and become an icon along the lines of Elvis, The Beatles, Spielberg, Chaplin, Beckham and of course, Jesus.
Don't start flaming me, i'm not saying he's as famous as the rest, but *if* he were to exist, he would be, easily.
Something deep inside of me wishes I could be that man. Handing out justice, giving hope to the people. In England we have such a problem with street gangs who operate with impunity, not scared of justice or retribution. To take them down would take more then a man, or men. It would take a symbol. Something for people to believe in.
That is what Batman is all about.
That is why I like Batman.
Jeez some of you guys here.....For me Batman represents that anger we all experience when we feel we've been victimized. He stands for every person who has ever been bullied, abused, or shamed in the public spectre. He is the answer for anyone who feels there is nothing good in their life. In short he represents hope and a longing to be released from the shackles of limitations that restrain us all.
