Why do you like Batman?

:whatever: Jeez some of you guys here.....

...have a life more fullfilling than yours. If you find the character so limited then why do you spend all your time jerking off on a thread that shouldn't interest you? Go find yourself little man...

:whatever: No offence but how old are you exactly?. Look i love Bats as much as the next guy but i know he is an implausible comic book character some guys look too much into such a little thing.

I'm 20. And um, two-ish months.

He never said that Batman would work in the real world, we all know he wouldn't, he'd be shot and killed within a week.

What he said, and I agree with, is that sometimes people need something like Batman. A symbol to get the people talking, thinking, acting.

Batman rocks because he has no powers and still fights alongside Superman.

He knows he could die on any given night but still gives his all to defend the city he loves.

Care to respond to my post? You asked me a question, it seems rude to time-travel over my response...

His intelligence and drive. any hero can be "badass" but batmans intelligence, obsession and drive are what put him above all others there are other just as smar or smarter in the DC uni but Bats has something extra to his intelligence that is why he is a key member of the JL without him they would have fallen a dozen times over from various threats

yea, but nonly Batman can be Batman badass

Something deep inside of me wishes I could be that man. Handing out justice, giving hope to the people. In England we have such a problem with street gangs who operate with impunity, not scared of justice or retribution. To take them down would take more then a man, or men. It would take a symbol. Something for people to believe in.

No offense I ask because of this ^ responce to why you like batman its your opinion but it made me cringe i thought it was from a 12 year old dreamy fanboy.

Nope, sorry, 20, lol.

I'm a big urban myth-ite, V and Batman are my two favourite hero's, mainly because they gave the people something to believe in. That sort of vigilantism is something that could never happen, but if it could, or did, i'd love it.

We could also say Batman rocks cause he has a batmobile. Thats an awesome perk for the job lol.

probably because he's incredibly paranoid...

I actually prefer bruce wayne to batman. The take of the character in batman beyond was amazing. An old man who was forced to give up the ghost and ultimately was left hollow but had new life breathed into him by terry.

He'd just been completely consumed by the darkness. I also like the way the last glimmer of hope he has vanquishes when andrea beaumont leaves him in mask of the phantasm and he dons the mask for the first time.

Honourary mentions to Kevin Conroy and Shirley Walker, I definitely wouldn't have liked him if not for these two people

You forgot to mention the look of horror Alfred gives upon seeing him. That was as classic as the donning itself. :cwink:

Yeah Alfred's look is what completes that scene. He realizes that Bruce Wayne no longer truly exists.

Ya that was an awesome scene. Alfred was the first to see the dark knight and be terrified.

I was fan of stories like Paul Pope's Berlin Batman and Batman Year 100 where he was human and he could blead, be hungry and yet still totally bad-ass. The first version of Batman I saw was either the Alivin and the Chipmunk's Bat-Munk episode, Tim Burton's 89 Batman movie, TLH, TDSK, or Batman: Mask of Phantasm(still my favorite Bat movie) I also love the early Bob Kane and Bill Finger Batman stories because they defined who and what the batman was.Frank Miller and Chris Nolan's take on the Batman. .......

and by the way I'm young if thats what youre thinking dd.:whatever:

I laugh at posts like this no way is batman plausible.
Is Batman realistic? No. Is his actual existence even possible? Of course not.

Is Batman plausible? Yes:

Main Entry: plau·si·ble
Function: adjective
1 : superficially fair, reasonable, or valuable but often specious

Main Entry: spe·cious
Function: adjective
1. apparently good or right though lacking real merit
There's a huge difference between plausible and realistic. I certainly don't consider Superman or even Spiderman plausible, but I do consider Batman to be plausible, because he can theoretically exist within the scientific rules that govern our world. But just because he can theoretically exist doesn't mean that he can actually exist.

He never said Batman was plausible, he said he wished he could exist.

I agree with him, if Batman were to exist I think he could transcend culture and become an icon along the lines of Elvis, The Beatles, Spielberg, Chaplin, Beckham and of course, Jesus.
Erm, in what way, shape, or manner is "Anita" a masculine name? :oldrazz:

Out of all the characters that comics has to offer, why is Batman your favorite? What is it about Batman that makes you be more of a fan of his character than any other comic book hero?

CFE
hes the goddamn batman, nuff said:o

I like his diverse lineup of villains. He has one of the better origins, in my opinion. There's so much you could do with it. I'm particularly fond of Nolan's idea of tying it into Ra's Al Ghul.

No superpowers which I thought was cool, and I liked his villians the most.

Oh right, gotcha, I apologize ;)

For me Batman represents that anger we all experience when we feel we've been victimized. He stands for every person who has ever been bullied, abused, or shamed in the public spectre. He is the answer for anyone who feels there is nothing good in their life. In short he represents hope and a longing to be released from the shackles of limitations that restrain us all. :brucebat:
Beautifully put. There's nothing I could add to this that shows what I think is great about batman. Bravo.
