The Flash Why is Grodd so tall?

It's not that it's unrealistic, it's just that it's given no explanation, and nobody inside the medium until now seems to care about it.

They give a quick line suggesting his size is a result of the experiments and accelerator explosion, they don't need a full explanation, for the same reason why they don't need to explain why Barry grabbing someone in danger whilst moving 400+mph saves their life instead of killing them instantly due to the immense force being suddenly applied to them.

They explained it in the episode. The accelerator did it.

"We have no way of testing this telepathy shield!"
"It's a damned shame we don't have a test subject who's under Grodd's control locked up somewhere!"

It's already been explained, you just don't want to hear it.

Except they *gave* an explanation. They just didn't stop the show to have a long, explicit expository lecture.

Be fair, that wouldn't really help much if the thing is designed to *block* telepathy. Eiling had already been mind-pureed; sticking something on his head isn't going to tell you whether its actually blocking telepathy, or if Grodd is just not transmitting at the moment.

If Grodd tries to uplift a lady gorilla by recreating the particle accelerator event, it's an opportunity for the show to introduce Giganta.

(Edited for clarity.)

The true answer is the writers don't know sh!+ about actual gorilla sizes. Or they do, but don't care enough to address it because 90% of the audience don't care.

Or you could say that the same process that mutated his brain also added some size to his body.

On a Grodd related note, I hope the move towards more practical effects and actual mouth movements for Grodd in season 2. Close ups can be done practically, and any dynamic movements can be cgi.

They've already alluded to this on the show.
And no, it's not because the writers don't know or don't care about actual gorilla size., it's because they wanted to make him even MORE intimidating than a regular gorilla, because a regular gorilla he certainly is not.
