Let's talk about why we think Spider-Man is the best. Please be respectful of everyone's opinions and have fun!

----

The big three are usually Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man. To me, Spider-Man is the perfect balance between the two. He has powers, but he still is not THAT powerful; he gets sick, beaten up, you name it. Spidey uses gadgets, but he doesn't completely rely on them. To me, he is the most human, and the most relatable hero in comic book history. I love Spider-Man just about as much as I do Peter Parker. I know what it feels like to be the outcast who has the worst of luck: trouble with women, struggling financially, and having difficulty balancing out my life.

Then of course the concept alone of Spider-Man is simply awesome. A guy who swings around on webbing (as opposed to just flying) the city of New York fighting crime and protecting innocents despite being hated because he understands that with great power, comes great responsibility.

His Rogues Gallery is one of the best, if not THE best. Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Lizard, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, Electro, and the list goes on.

Great supporting cast, likeable character and relatable, a great rouge gallery. Has a mixture of light and dark.

Peter is nice, friendly, relatable, has great supporting characters.

Spider-Man has awesome powers and villians and fights for his town.

Hard to put into words really but he embodies all the things people are (damaged) and many of the things people hope to be (heroic, pasdionate, caring)

Well said.

I'm second guessing, again, for maybe the 100th time

He gave me inspiration growing up, and helped with a lot of things also growing up such as my parent's divorce, etc.

He's the everyday man, he just happens to have Spider powers. :oldrazz:

He's beyond relatable, and that I think is the best quality of Spider-Man: how he connects with the people that read the comics and play the games, watch the movies and just overall admire the guy.

For as long as I can remember Spider-Man has been my favorite super hero. I can't recall I time I was not all about Spider-Man, he has been a part of my life since I could read, and probably earlier than that.

I remember my dad had a huge Marvel hardcover that had the entire history of the company, broken up into decades. So from a young age I not only knew about Spider-Man but all the details that went into his creation, it was all fascinating to me. And all the other Marvel Heroes too, I was like a walking Marvel encyclopedia.

I even remember the first time I got bit by a spider, my whole leg went numb, and I was excited as can be. I told my dad the first step was taken care of and "all he had to do" was build a machine to irradiate me so I could be Spider-Man.

I remember thinking everyday how fun it would be to swing around skyscrapers and climb those sheer walls, of course not considering the fact that ol' Pete has to fight for his life nearly every day. The first time I visited Philly and New York practically all I could do was look up and imagine it. Hell, I still do.

Beyond all the cool things about Spider-Man, his costume, his powers, his villains, what really makes him my favorite is Peter Parker. The tragic circumstances that set him on his path, his determination to do the right thing, trouble with the ladies, his humor, getting pick on for being nerdy. I also loved the fact that he was so intelligent. I saw (see) a lot of myself in Peter Parker. In fact if I think back on it, I probably got a lot of the calibration for my moral compass from him.

I would still gladly jump in front of traffic if it meant I'd wake up with spider powers.
