Why SPIDER-MAN 3 is the GREATEST

Yeah, forgiveness is SO original, WTF are you smoking?

Why don't we just continue to make this guy mad so we'd have a reason to report him in the near future?

lol

Great plan, so then you can do your emo hairdos and go to a club to dance wildly. Which is pretty much innovative for what I've heard. :word:

Good point, haha. $375 world wide, correct? Absolutely ridiculous financial success.

Yeah, and Deadmna's Chest did great it's first weekend too. It was still a bad film with no purpose other than setting up the third.

Money, especially the first weekend, means nothing as to how good a film is.

All in all, you had too high expectations coming into this movie. As did most of you fanboys. You built it up to much, the results or your opinion is a by product of too much anticipation. That's why within the grand scheme of things, my thread labeling Spider-man 3 the GREATEST of th e bunch is restoring balance. The movie isn't as great as I said (my opinion is partially sincere, and partly for discussion purposes), but the movie certainly isn't near as bad as you fellas make it out to be.

Huh? Restoring balance? Wait a second. I'm not a fanboy, I'm not even that big a Spiderman fan, but even I could tell you that SM2 is leagues ahead of SM3. I mean, why disregard the bad parts of it, why wear rose colored glasses? Because you are sick of seeing all the bad parts discussed? Well this movie was supposed to deliver, and it really didn't. I didn't buy into all the hype and it was still underwhelming. I mean, Sandman just ****ing flies away? Thats it?

"I accidentally killed your uncle"
"...I forgive you."
"Bye"

Ground breaking.

I guess his kid is going to die then, but hey, we don't know because none of his loose ends were tied up, and who knows whats going to happen with SM4.

The way it always works:
People who liked the movie don't speak up nearly as much as people who didn't.

I agree with the OP. This is by far my favorite of the 3. I'm partially biased against #2, since I never liked Doc Ock. But the entire 2nd movie was peter crying about how he doesn't want to be spiderman. The third movie, he embraces it. The action was better, the story wasn't overly drawn out on one villain.

There are some things I would have changed. But as far as favorites go, Spidey 3 is mine.

$148 million weekend is another reason.
Keep repeating this to yourself as you watch the dance routine and just about every other piss poor attempt at movie making that they produced over and over again.

Jig's up pal, I'm the sheriff around these parts. :spidey:

Great to know. I was just responding to a direct threat. Maybe I should be the one looking for the sheriff in the first place but I think can defend myself.

I like SM3, thank God it's not as bad as Superman Returns! ;)

It's good to know that you can defend yourself. Just don't do it unnecessarily, or on a whim. Sometimes the line between self-defence, and self-induced provocation becomes blurred. Be careful.

i disagree man, its really not great, its good thats all.

wish it was amazing

Ummm a theme of forgiveness in a SUPERHERO film, where it's typically black/white, good guy v.s. bad guy ... and the film's resolution isn't a hero beating up the 'bad guy' to death, but forgiving him for any wrongs ... then yeah, that is very original.

What am I smoking? A truth joint.

Yeah you're right. Sandman just flying away at the end after causing millions of dollars of destruction and probably killing a few police officers and not to mention killing Uncle Ben is incredibly original. I never saw that coming. Hell, his kid is probably even dead, but we don't know, because there is no conclusion to that. Just because something is original doesn't make it good. Everything leading up to the forgiveness of Peter from Harry was bull**** too. The butler telling Harry everything NOW? Yeah that was original too, never saw that coming either. It was also bad.

No where did I say this is what made the movie innovative. And you're making **** up now.

Obviously that scene was for comedic purposes, and both times I went to the movie everyone loved it.

"Now dig on this..."

It is by far the worst of the series and one of the worse superhero movies ever made.
Lol, nice joke ;) Nobody is that stupid to believe that.

*cough* Best selling movie of all time in opening weekend - 151.1 million. $376 million + worldwide

Thanks for trying :)

What does this have to do with ANYTHING? LMAO ...

not to mention killing Uncle Ben is incredibly original.
Actually, it was.

Just because something is original doesn't make it good.
This is true, however it was good. Not great, but well done. It could've been even better.

The butler telling Harry everything NOW? Yeah that was original too, never saw that coming either. It was also bad.
Where am I talking about this scene? I agree, go find my review. But the theme of forgiveness in a movie like this IS original.

Butler didn't want Harry to think his father killed himself. Once Spider-Man shows up and Harry refuses to help the Butler tells him that so he can go help. Simple as that.

Right, don't tell him, let his life spiral into nothing but revenge on Spiderman and basically lose everything because of it. Simple as that. Wonderful friend that butler is.

And Dark Knight, I love how you picked out the last part of Sandman killing Uncle out of context. Sure it was original, I'm not being sarcastic, but he just...leaves at the end? Thats not only original, but it sucked. I don't know how else to say it. It was just a bad ending to what supposedly was supposed to be a great movie. The other parts I am bringing up because thats what people like you say are so original, but just because they doesn't make them good.

To set up the whole Harry forgiving Peter vice versa, you had to have that bull**** Butler scene in there. To have Peter forgive Sandman, you had to have that bull**** scene where he accidentally shoots Ben, make him a sympathetic character where he really isn't a "bad" guy. (didn't we just have a villain like that in SM2?) Yes these parts alone are original, but the scenes that made them up and led to them were horrible.

Not even close ...

The 1st Team All-Superhero Movies:

- Superman 2
- Batman Returns
- V for Vendetta

The 3rd Team All-Superhero Movies:
- Spider-man
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Hulk
- Spider-man 3
- Superman Returns
- Blade
- Blade 2
- X-Men
- X-Men 3

- Dick Tracy

The Rest, and the worst:
- Ghost Rider
- Daredevil
- Blade 3
- Batman Forever
- Batman and Robin
- Fantastic Four
- Catwoman
- Superman 3
- Superman 4

I don't quite understand your list. You said in the first line of your original post that Spider-Man 3 was the greatest of the Spider-Man films, yet you rank it a "team" lower than Spider-Man 2. Can you explain this?

Now, I do agree that the forgiveness angle was quite nice and new, considering how terrible the world has gotten these days. Even if it was tied up in a somewhat disoriented film and not presented in the best of ways, it was still a very positive message and should be given some form of acknowledgment. :yay:
