Superman Returns why WB is so confident this time?

Only two scenes is the Charlie Sheen scene- which yes, is a really really stupid joke- but is as stupid as "haha, Lex has curly hair"....

And the Leslie Nielson jokes- which is more or less a mockery of President Bush.

Both are going for a 'dumb joke'. To me, "look Lex has curly hair- haha" is the same as a kid drawing on a newspaper and going "look, I gave that guy buck teeth- haha". It's the same exact thing, with intent or without intent- didn't find it funny.

The curly wig was meant to represent the curly wig Jason refers to in the film. It's my favorite line from him.

Superman's storyline has plenty of elements which have root in Christianity. he's not a god. he's a guardian. there's a huge difference there.

Not clever or funny in my opinion, personally the below pic (from a comic) makes me laugh while the above make me think "wtf? is that supposed to be funny?"

Take into account how anti-SR state that the movie didn't have enough action, also read it sarcastically:

As I said, I love jokes- at the expense of some things I like. I'm a SW fan and liked LOTR, but that didn't prevent me from laughing out loud when SW and LOTR were "made fun of" in Clerks II.

You know, I have to say, I didn't see what was so bad about the kid. He did a great job with what he was given. Personally, from a writers perspective, it gives the story SOMEWHERE TO GO.. You could do so much with the story, now that he has a kid. Now, before I get flamed for that, I will say, that perhaps, they should have held off on the kid until the sequal or later on down the road. However, from a writers point of view, having the kid opens the series up for so many possibilities. I thought the movie was good, but lacked action. I felt there needed to be more action packed scenes, but the movie was ok. And Wesyeed, man, you gotta take that poster off saying Batman Begins sucks on page 8. LOL.. That movie was AWSOME.. A lot of people hated it because of the long, drawn out history of the character, but it was NECESSARY.. Everyone however, is intitled to their opinion. Just thought I would point that out. (and yes, I know this is a Superman thread).. See y'all.

I never imagined I'd agree witha that a year ago. I was positive we were getting a killer Superman movie with an assertive, strong actor in the leading role that would make Welling girlie. But the fact is...Welling is a better actor, in better shape, and has a LOT more screen presence than Routh who proved he can't really act and evidently can't frown or punch.

Wellings Clark is a wholesome good guy, but damn he ain't no PUNK!

well brandon to me was never skinny. he was not bodybuilder huge. but he was in good shape
