Why Wrestling Thread? Why?! Why?!

Regarding the $50K for NWA, you have to remember that is probably just for rights/assets, which would then make you also responsible for debts and payroll, so you would be a lot farther in the hole once you have to start paying out talent and all that.

Watching the latest Best of Super Juniors. I think Omega just killed Desperado.

Matt Taven vs. Jay Lethal at Best In The World? Eh, I like heel Lethal, but that match is kinda there for me.

I was hoping for a fresh challenger like ACH, I know Taven hasn't gotten payback on Truth Martini yet but the same 3 guys have been circling the TV title for months now.

So now I assume Batista shows back up some time in August to make the save while Evolution is beating down Ambrose/Reigns. That's the biggest drawback of the whole situation.

By the time Summerslam rolls around Batista can simply swagger back in and play the Hollywood jackass, acting like his poo isn't pungent.

Watched ROH's 'Raising the Bar Night 2' tonight, one of the best wrestling shows I've seen this year. Steen vs Cedric Alexander was the best Steen match I've seen, the Young Bucks vs reDRagon was great and the 2 out of 3 falls main event between Cole and Hero was very good.

Ooh and on this Smackdown, Seth Rollins vs Dolph Ziggler!!...promos included lol

I hope they actually feud

.....voice of experience?

Lol, not exactly.

- The WWE Talent Relations department sent out letters this week to former contracted talents and referees to offer them financial planning assistance in a number of ways.

WWE is now offering, free of charge, financial planning and debt assistance services through a financial firm. Anyone who was ever under contract to WWE is able to receive the assistance.

WWE is also offering a $5,000 per semester scholarship to any former contracted talents who are looking to further their college education. Talents must enroll by August 1st to be eligible for the fall 2014 semester scholarship and must provide proof of enrollment to WWE.

Catching up on RAW, Rollins beat Ambrose like he owed him money.

Ok, time for some pie in the sky type of stuff - since I've been on a New Japan kick for the last couple weeks & given some of the happenings in recent months/weeks/days even, I'm revisiting my two day WWE/NJPW dream card.

Day 1:
The Usos vs. The Young Bucks
Fandango vs. TAKA
Rusev vs. Togi Makabe
Adrian Neville vs. Tetsuya Naito
Cesaro vs. Katsuyori Shibata
-Intermission-
The Wyatt Family vs. Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, Yujiro Takahashi)
Bad News Barrett vs. Minoru Suzuki
Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles
John Cena vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

Day 2:
Adam Rose & 3MB vs. CHAOS (Toru Yano, Gedo, Jado, YOSHI-HASHI)
Sami Zayn vs. Kota Ibushi
Cody Rhodes/Goldust vs. Killer Elite Squad
Dolph Ziggler vs. Hirooki Goto
-Intermission-
Dean Ambrose/Roman Reigns vs. Bullet Club (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows)
Sheamus vs. Tomohiro Ishii
Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Daniel Bryan vs. Kazuchika Okada

Nice. This card is similar to mine except a few things:
I have Cesaro going up against Ishii
Sheamus against Shibata
Big E vs. TAKA
Rusev vs. Naito
Rollins vs. Styles
Orton vs. Nakamura

That's actually really cool of them to do. Depending on where you go that's a free college degree.

Looking at the WWE/NJPW cards I think Cena and Tanahashi are too similar, opposites make for better matches in my view. Same with The Usos and Young Bucks, both have very similar core offense.

Agree with you there. I'd like to see how the Bucks handle Harper/Rowan and the Usos going title to title with Anderson and Gallows (and yes, that's because I am a Gallows mark).

That is who I thought of to face the Young Bucks as well, if I was booking it before this weeks Raw I'd have went with this;

Cena vs Okada
Bryan vs Shibata
The Shield vs The Bullet Club (Styles/Gallows/Anderson)
Cesaro vs Tanahashi
Bray Wyatt vs Nakamura
The Young Bucks vs Harper & Rowan
Goto vs Ziggler
The Usos vs Kota & Liger

Yeah, that was tops on my list as well. Either that or, wait for it, Orton. Yeah, for some reason I want to see Orton vs Okada. Just something that dawned on me seeing him live last month.

But I HATE Tanahashi! How about Kushida instead? Just because?

Charisma overload!

Interesting that you see guys see Tanahashi & Cena as too similar. I can understand the comparisons booking-wise, but Tanahashi has always reminded me more of Eddie Guerrero in the way he works (and the frog splash too). And Cena had great chemistry with Eddie, so I think he & Tanahashi would work well together.

Finally, Liger gets a win in the BOSJ.

So right now it looks like both TAKA and Taichi are leading in their respective blocks.
