If he believes it, which you clearly don't, and if he wants to respond to the accusations, he's more than welcome to do so.

As said, to me I'd absolutely align with stating "I believe" just not saying it like a fact. There was a way to phrase it that wasn't basically "I know for a fact it wasn't the Russians, the intelligence agencies are absolutely wrong." If there's more going on here - you're wikileaks, you can reveal that without revealing the source that the agencies are operating on pure conjecture. He can discredit them by discrediting their methods, if he has anything concrete to discredit them with. It thus far doesn't look like he does (since he'd probably leak that), rather basing it on what he thinks he knows to be true about the middle man versus what they're saying. It was that it wasn't "I believe this or that, based on what I know" it was "I'm right, the FBI/CIA/NHS is wrong- the end." While similar, it's stating two different things. If there's flaws in the investigation, he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would keep the flaws of the investigation secret.

Maybe but given that he's part of Trump's inner circle, the possibilities of this being his attempt to mislead is quite possible, I'd say.

About damn time on Assange. Love how he's trying to portray himself as a "journalist", too, heh. The charge isn't publishing the stuff, jackass, it's accusing you of helping Manning steal it from a government database in the first place.

I'm a little skeptical they can prove that in an airtight way, but if they've got the good, great.

A travesty Manning's still walking around free too. Pull that crap in the 70s or 80s with physical paper documents and you'd be snuffed out. Life in jail's probably a little much for Manning now, but weaseling her out of 15-20 years is contemptible.

Then again, this is a time where Bergdahl gets a slap on the wrist, guess it's not hugely surprising.

Pretty sure they'll prove at least something with Assange though, whether it's the advising on how steal & smuggle the info or the sex stuff overseas. Not that it'll stop him being seen as a martyr, those supports are all-in, they're basically the stereotypical Rage Against The Machine fan/Che t-shirt stooges.
