In the new Green Lantern movie, Hector Hammond is the main villian. In the movie, his brain grows to a gigantic size. Sounds just like the Leader. WTF? This could ruin any chances of The Leader being in Marvel movies if the general audience thinks he's just a copycat of Hammond. Thoughts?

**** man, didn't even realize. Looks like DC actually beat Marvel to the punch for a change. But it's not just Hector. MODOCK has the big head going for em. Even Iron Man had some TF elements to a lesser degree. You just got to find ways to get creative and keep it sexy.

Yeah, I guess. I think having a different visual look will seperate the two as well. Hammond looks *****in, but was very reminiscent of an unmasked Jason. lol.

Stern's head grew first in TIH, so no.

Plus, they could make his head look like a giant brain and color him green.

This could be vice verca for DC not being able to use Black Mask because of Cap using Red Skull. Sadly, I want Black Mask in Batman 3. :(

They don't have to use the skull look for Black Mask though, they can use just the black face look like when he first came out.

if the green lantern does anything i hope it revives the silver surfer. marvel has lots of cosmic characters, though fox has the silver surfer at the moment. as far as the leader, tih was already made so they wont look like they are copying, they kinda hinted at his head growing.

Silver Surfer? Green Lantern's a DC comic, dude.

We NEED a Silver Surfer film. I loved him...LOVED HIM in the F4 sequel as he was one of the only redeeming factors of the movie.

But screw FOX, his character needs to be with Marvel Studios darnit!

And no, isn't The Leader green? Both Hammond and Leader has similarities but they are different characters and their physical designs could be different aside from the large craniums.

Silver Surfer? Green Lantern's a DC comic, dude.

When Harry Potter was a hit for WB, every other studio tried their hand in a teenage fantasy.

A successful GL will make Marvel (or Fox) more likely to give Silver Surfer a shot. Really simple logic.

Why should these directors be afraid of their source materal even if its charactor is simular to another comic book movies. Its only the true fans that notice anyway. The average movie goer forgets by the time another CB movie comes out anyway. Plus its going to be a different storyline.

right when marvel gets some good movies going, dc has to ruin everything!!! :(

i know gl is dc, what im saying is if gl has some cosmic stuff and does well then the silver surfer who is cosmic will not seem like it is too far out there for an audience. now with the possibility of the kree/skrulls in the avengers movie cosmic stuff seems like it will happen eventually. also i was just in keeping with the whole gl and hulk discussion by saying a dc character might impact a marvel character, by how far an audience will indulge the superhero genre.

Theres almost no way copycatting will STOP something from happening. The entire movie industry is about following trends. If Green Lantern works with Hammond, than that would only prove to the studio that Leader would work

It never occured to me how similar Hector Hammond and The Leader are. Damn. Maybe they cant really use The Leader now. :(

I always considered Hammond more similar to MODOK for some reason.

Hopefully everyone will have forgotten about Green Lantern in a few years....for a number of reasons.

MODOK not being a likely villain is probably for the best. There's no way the GA would buy him looking as a giant head with tiny legs.

Leader, though....hm.

I think MODOK could be done if they make all the fleshy parts a computer screen. MODOK could be very creepy if done right, or he could be hilarious. Both are reasons why I love the character.

Considering no one saw Green Lantern except comic fans, I'll say no. :woot: I think Marvel Studios will make the Leader a more menacing villain.

Seriously WB just needs to figure out their comic characters who they are and what they represent. I didn't like Hector Hammond's story in the movie. He would have worked better as a gangster who gained powers that Hal had to bring down. Connecting Hal, Carol and Hector together as childhood friends was lame.

I've noticed WB movies have tried to borrow or leach off of Marvel's success, Jordan throwing a shield, also in the unaired Wonder Woman pilot they even had the nerve to use "Super Soldiers"...I mean come on.....

Marvel should go ahead with whatever villains they want.. Modok, Leader, Mad Thinker, etc. just don't do the original Leader image where his brain grows in a cylindrical pattern..

I don't think that Green Lantern will ruin the chances for The Leader to be a future villian in a movie.
