Do you think we will see everything planned before the new Superman movie was announced? I wonder if it affects how far they push him coming closer to being Superman. I think a lot of hopes of seeing him in the costume, and even doing a save in the costume seem more doubtful. Will we even see him referred to as Superman by the end, or will the WB stop that as to not confuse with Cavill who is the new Superman?

If anything I think we will get the flight. If the movie wasn't announced at this time, I just think we would have saw more.

I doubt the new film will have any effect on the show.

I have to admit it has been a worry of mine as well but hopefully WB will let them go full out considering the fans stuck with the show for 10 seasons.

No it will not effect the show one bit. They where/are already in production of the last few episodes. Before cavill was cast. Plus reqlly the show wraps production in about 2 weeks. And even by the time finale airs in may. The snyder film will have not even started production. Its not scheduled to start to july/aug. And with that sv is done and over. And the film has a clean break.

Smallville Wiil Go Out On Their Own Terms. I Really Think The Movie Won't Effect The Show At All Either.

The answer to the Thread Title:

No

I agree that the new Superman movie will not affect the show, especially it's series finale. Also, by the time the show airs, they'd still be in pre-production stage until July. :super:

The fact that we aren't getting another season fleshing out him actually becoming Superman, makes me feel like the movie is changing how the show is ending. Maybe it would have been ending anyways, but as for what they can do? Hmm... I think it changes how far you push away from no flight no tights. If a film was not happening, for all we know a year one Superman season could have been underway.

It also has to do with contracts as TW only signed up to the 10th season. :super:

The movie has no bearing or effect to the show. The show has had things all planed out for this season. Where as the film is still only in early pre production.

Whats there to really flesh out? The purpose of this show was never to show Supermans year one. It was pre suit days. Now with these last 2 seasons, the Blur has basically been Clarks year one. Superman just gives a public face to Clarks superhero activities. Did you really think the show was going to go on forever? I would think the WB would actually want smallville to go all out just to push up a positive cred from the rest of the year.
