Also I need this thing's title changed to Robbie.

Trailer.

Wish it wouldve been red band to get a better feel for it

Nice to see Smith in an R rated, non genre film, or sequel. Don't think this trailer really sold it for me though. A good amount of talent attached from Smith to Robbie to the directors

Also in the lead up to this (Ive been following the production) I was hoping for a more Ocean's Eleven type tone. But this is good too

This looks awesome. Will Smith in an R-rated drama. That is definitely original and the concept looks promising.

Who knows if the film will be good or not but thankgod Smith isn't in another CGI fest for once.

i dont mind his cgi fests but i havent liked one since I am Legend

I like I Am Legend eventhough it's massively flawed.

My point was he overdid it and didn't diversify enough. We especially didn't need Men in Black 3 and After Earth and I didn't dislike MIB3 but I don't think he should have done those two films.

I like Will Smith, but I think the reason he hasn't diversified is because he doesn't have the range. I think MIB3 was the first time I have enjoyed Will Smith since "I,Robot". After his horrible performance as Ali, I couldn't take him all that seriously in more dramatic roles.

I thought he was good in Ali. Not great, he really felt like some acting rather than someone embodying the role/person/character like say CHadwick Boseman in Get on Up or Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line

and even if he doesnt have range I think he could at least make better movies. I mean Mark Wahlberg doesnt have much range, but what he does he does well for the most part, like Smith. But Wahlberg just has made a lot of better movies in the last couple of years. I think Ive liked every movie he's been in since The Fighter...except Broken City. There are a number of bigger actors who dont have much range but still maintain because they select good projects

Hard to imagine this with Kristen Stewart.

This looks okay otherwise. Feels like a con within a con movie.

I am a big boxing guy, and I have watched a lot Ali fights, interviews and documentaries. As such, I found his portrayal annoyingly bad. He really missed the point.

And I agree he could definitely find better roles. But considering his price tag, I am sure most aren't willing to pay it, especially when has been bringing in the big bucks for awhile now.

Margot Robbie is a damn goddess.
You'll didn't even know here before Wolf, unlike me. :oldrazz:

This looks....considerably better than his last efforts but that's not saying much. I love Will Smith and I REALLY want to see him get back in his element. Will's at his best when he plays charismatic characters that draw upon his funny, charming personality like ID4, MIB, Hitch, I, Robot etc. When he goes for these dark dramatic roles it just....doesn't fit him. He's not that kind of actor. I give him credit for trying to diversify but we need to get back to the fun loving, charismatic, larger than life "WELCOME TO EURF!" Will Smith.

He never mispronounced earth. That's a fable people made up in their own minds.

That's true.
The idea of movie star is slowly dying or is already dead depending on who you ask. It was funny 2-3 years ago I said Will Smith was the last movie star, then After Earth came out.

It's funny but when I was watching Edge of Tomorrow I was thinking how it wouldve been good for Will Smith to do Tom Cruise's role

I still can't believe Smith turned down Django. That is the biggest bonehead move. Even worse than him turning down Neo (which I dont think he wouldve been good for) to do Wild Wild West.

Why do people think he mispronounced earth? Never seemed off to me.
Because he was a black rapper.

And I'm not calling people "racist," I'm saying that people have certain preconceived notions about certain entertainers.

I as so happy he turned down Django. Foxx rocked the role so much. I don't think Smith could have brought the danger, the almost unhinged nature, the way Foxx did. But yeah, it was a bad decision from Smith.

Yeah, most likely so.

I have faith Smith couldve done it. But I guess that's moot.

He has that NFL concussion drama next. I dont imagine that being anything special or worth note.

Denzel said he's also waiting on him for that Uptown Saturday Night remake. That seems like a slam dunk to me.

Just my opinion, but I think that Will Smith would have rocked as Django.

I honestly can't think of one performance from Will Smith that would make me think he would have rocked as Django.

Margot friggin' Robbie :hrt:

Looks interesting and Robbie is just...

I would have preferred Idris Elba in this role as opposed to Smith.

Smith has more charisma than Foxx IMO even when he's not relying on his usual persona (I AM LEGEND).
