Lately his films have been pretty dark and mature. I have to wonder if he'll ever make a "fun" movie again.

It's interesting, because in some ways you can almost pinpoint the dividing point in his career as being Schindler's List.

While it's not like every movie he made before that was all light, happy fare.... there's this strangely noticeable stylistic difference between all the movies he directed before and after that point.

Jurassic Park 4 and Legend of Zorro wasn't too long ago.

Catch Me If You Can wasn't particularly dark either.

Spielberg had said in an interview a while back after A.I. or just before Minority Report that he has been pleasing audiences and giving them what they wanted for too long (by this I think he meant the amount of family movies he'd put out over the years). He said he was ready to attempt some things he felt he's never really been able to explore. So, we've gotten the darker sci-fi flicks and a few Oscar contenders...but yeah...I'm all for it...but aren't he and Lucas doing Indy 4 hopefully by 2008...Spielberg is still supposed to direct. I guess it all depends on what you consider a family film.

His last movies cant be even compared with movies like IJ, E.T. and Jaws.

But I loved Catch me, if you can, it was very good movie

This new worm hole movie sounds interesting (wasn't it him thinking about making a movie like this)... most likely PG 13

Let's hope we don't see another spielberg film FULL STOP, War of the worlds, munich, WHY??? They are terrible, he's lost that magic we enjoyed from him in Duel and Jaws, shame really, but oh well.

Wha? C'mon, munich, a waste of money, terrible!
i guess alot of people disagree with you then

i saw the first showing of munich and was disgusted by it, as a member of an indie film community, I don't get out much, except for films really. The only reason people like it, is cause it's got the 'jew persecution factor', and i think it was andrew sallis who said that that's a guarenteed way of selling your film. Sad but true

I hope omitting the capitalization, the "o", the apostophe, the "w", and changing the "o","n" and the "e" into a "1" saved you some valuable time.

..right

As good as Schindler's List and Shaving Ryan's Privates are, Spielberg's greatest talent is putting the audience into an adventure.
