Will turning 26 make me an old man?

Yep, you are old because you can no longer be on mommy and daddy's insurance....good luck with that.... ; )

Marriages fail because of unrealistic expectations. Love is great, but you also have to LIKE each other, which is harder. Anyone going into a marriage has to realize that there will be times when you disagree and agree that no matter how rough those times get that they will do what it takes to remain friends through those times.
Exactly. The institution of marriage has been around for centuries and has "worked". The divorce rates nowadays say more about us than it does about marriage in general.
When it comes to working, try your best to find something you're good at and that you enjoy doing. I worked as a temp for a couple of years after high school, that was enough to send me back to college to get the education for a career that I do enjoy. Working as a temp taught me a lot about what I did NOT want to do for the rest of my life.
So true. Only I worked after graduating from undergrad. People might look at me and say that I wasted time finishing undergrad and going back to school, but (as you say) it made me realize what I DIDN'T want out of a career and that narrowed things down a lot. Life is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Too many people don't realize that.

Wait until you're able to round your number up to age 40 like me. You'll look back on this thread with fondness and realize just how "old" you really were...

26? Reverse that and there's your old age.... 62.

Whiner.

Im 37 and I thought that was getting old but last week I had sex with an 18 year old girl and I said to myself Dan you still got it.
I say if you can hump a person half your age your not that old.

That's gross. :csad:

I think people of all ages worry that they're getting old or that they're over the hump. I'm 18, almost 19 and my mom decided to tell me yesterday that this is "the best it's going to get." It sent me spiraling into a not-quite-quarter-life crisis.

Ew.

.

I honestly think it gets better in the mid-20s...that's when you're at the prime of your life and getting a taste of true freedom and responsibility.

As far as "spiraling", just try to avoid the 37-year old crisis that attracts you to pubescent tweenage girls.

Hahaha... was she conscious?

This insurance thing made me smile...It is the fact though. Good luck with that for everyone.
In other case, I don't think turning 26 will make you an old man. You will feel you are getting old when you turn 36 :)

should not make you feel old. i turned 26 in May, but i've been married for a year and am having a kid in December. I have more responsibilities now, but still have fun and goof around whenever I can.

I just turned 31, but let's be honest. We're all regular visitors to a forum called SuperHeroHype. You could be 89, but if you're here on the Hype, you're still young at heart. Live it up!

People say 26 is the beginning of old age. Is this true?
I still feel so young.

LOL-NO! You're actually at a wonderful time in your life. You've left the drama of school behind, but you aren't old enough to start pondering the woes of middle age.

Generally, doctors define middle age as beginning at 35 or 40, so you have a long time before you can even realisitically fit into that category. More importantly, if you are making good decisions and enjoying life, there is no reason to wish for years gone by.

I'm way older than that, getting my health back on track for the first time in about 5 years, eating well, quit smoking and drinking and gone back to gym, twice a day... I feel better now than I did when I was 26...

My point is, you feel as good as what you put into your life/health. If you're happy with where your life is at the moment, the numbers don't matter one little bit.

However, I may rethink that when I hit 50 :hehe:
