Age gap - why can't girls stick to their own age?

Let's talk about age gaps. Do you think it's ok for a 19 year old to date a 25 year old? A 19 year old to date a 16 year old? Should it go by the amount of years or is the most important thing just how young is the youngest person in the relationship?

I hear about it and see it all the time. By and large, girls date men that are far older. There's this guy that goes to tech in Belfast, and me and my friends all hate the guy because he's always dating young girls. He's in his 20s and dating 15 year olds. I know a girl, when she was 16 she dated a 26 year old. The guy actually turned out to be a peado that abused his own relatives. There's another guy I hear about, he's 21 and dating a 15 year old, and a guy I worked with a year or so ago dated a 15 year old too, and he always told everyone all the sordid details of what they did in the bedroom. Disturbingly, this kind of age gap seems more and more acceptable.

9 out of 10 times, girls in their teens should not be dating guys in their mid 20s or older, ESPECIALLY if the girl is 16. I'm nearly 22, and when I was 20 I considered 16 too young for me!! All of my friends consider 16 too young!! Anyone DECENT I know consideres that too young!! I know that girls that age aren't mature enough for an adult relationship. Anyone with any sense knows that. Plus there's the fact that in alot of ways they're still kids.

You have to think to yourself. You have to ask yourself just one question if a guy WAY older is hitting on young girls. Why is he with a young girl and not with a girl his own age?? 9 out of 10 times, he's looking to use her. Whether he even knows it himself, he wants to take advantage of her naivety, take advantage of her inexperience. He doesn't want a girl his own age because girls his own age are too smart to fall for his crap, so he takes advantage of the younger girls.

Always be suspicious of guys in their 20s dating 16 year olds. Always question it. 9 out of 10 times, it isn't right.

Girls like guys with money and usually 25 year old guys will have more money than 19 year old guys.

I'm a girl and I for myself am mostly attracted by older man to. The reason for this is most man I know, in my age are really silly and childish. I don't think some sillyness or staying a child in your heart is a bad thing, but these guys are just get carried away by it.
In this case of course I can only talk about myself and the boys I know.

I saw a documentation, some weeks ago in german television, where a reasearch brought the results that man, the older they get, the more attractive they seem to most women (until a certain age of course).
Maybe it has something to do with old instincts, or genes or something like that, that goes way back to the origins of menkind. Females of every species search for males that are strong, know how to survive and are able to bring out the best of heirs. Maybe this instinct is still hidden deep inside of us and shows in this sort of way....^^

The age difference should only matter when one of the two is around 16 years old or younger. People in their mid to early teens are not yet mature enough (emotionally, mentally, or physically) for relationships with people in their 20's or higher.

Once the youngest of the pair is in their 20's....the age difference doesn't really matter.

I don't see anything wrong with someone who's 25 dating a 19-year-old, nor someone 19 dating someone 16. However someone 21 dating somone under 18... shouldn't happen, IMO.

I always do. I had a friend end up under house arrest because of a statutory rape charge back during college. Totally ruined college for him, and he had to drop out. The girl was underage and at a party and he didn't know. I've been paranoid ever since.

Ordinarily, I'd say it doesn't matter as long as it's not ridiculous. It sounds great when you say you're dating a teen, but the problem with teens is that they act like teens. I'm 25, and went out with a 17 year old, which was a massive error. It basically comes down to what you want in life. As a guy in his mid-20's, I'm looking for someone to settle down with, which is an unfair thing to expect any young girl to do, and as such the relationship was nothing more than a 3 month fling.

Incidently, after we split up she started a dating a 28yr old. Go figure.

To me, it sounds like a guy is a loser who can't get a girl from among his peers, so he goes trolling the playground for impressionable young things who think dating an 'older guy' automatically makes them more 'sophisticated' and 'mature'.

It seems between 20 and 60 the age gap is fine....then after 60 if you are with a younger partner it is frowned upon and if you are with someone under 20 once you are past 20 it is frowned upon.

when me and my girlfriend met, I was 20 and she was 16, although I liked her when I met her, I didn't react to it cuz I've always thought that dating teenagers is not right, so we just became friends
we hooked up when I was 29 and she was 25, which is okay by me

I had a 16 year old student who was dating this 26 year old dude, she was a pretty stupid girl, and well, if you're 26 and you're actually dating a 16 year old girl, there's just something wrong with you

I know a 34 year old guy who used to love dating high school girls ten years ago, he still does... surprisingly, you would never think he's 34 just by looking at him, the ****er looks much younger than me
