Bryan Cranston would be perfect for either JJJ or Doc Ock

Maybe Marvel is waiting because I think they want to shock everyone with a great casting.

Would be a fantastic addition as JJJ.

Hopefully, at this point JJJ has be someone big.

I'm hope JJJ gets introduced with Mysterio. Peter takes pictures to get an internship at the Bugle. Mysterio destroys Spider-Man's reputation and JJJ exploits it.

The safest bet is Peter and Betty could intern at the Daily Bugle. It also would be nice to see Peter date Betty for once in a film. Angourie Rice got the short end of the stick in "Homecoming." I'd like to see her talent be on display in the next film.

Also, Cranston would make for a good J.J. or Norman Osborn.

After seeing how all these A-list actors did in minor roles in Homecoming I would absolutely LOVE to see Cranston in as Jonah in the sequel.

Why does everyone keep calling JJJ "JJ"?

Because they call him that interchangeably in the comics ad nauseam?

I'm gonna go with no, just because they seem to be having a hard time finding a good replacement to play him J.J. I'd really like to see him in the sequel though.

Which doesn't make a lot of sense since they're plenty of capable actors who'd be good in the role: Cranston, Hugh Laurie, Clancy Brown, Nick Offerman, Bob Odenkirk, Stephen Lang, R. Lee Ermey, Chris Meloni, Wiliam H. Macy, Tom Hanks and more. People just need to get away from the J.K. Simmons days. Yeah, they were great but it's time to move on.

They may still incorporate the Bugle but address how print media is kinda outdated these days and either have it be a news website or keep it a newspaper but use a running gag of how only old people are reading it.

I want Tom Hanks for Ben in flashbacks for the sequel but I also think he would kill it as a curmudgeonly JJJ.

dealing with media in the sequel could be pretty topical

If Stark stays in his life in any capacity I can only imagine his reaction to Peter, trying to have a secret identity, working for a news outlet.

I agree, but since they haven't recast the role yet, I get the impression there just looking for the perfect actor again.

Personally I think they should cast Christopher Walken as JJ.

Seeing as J K Simmons nailed his character, I'd like to see someone attempt a different angle without loosing the eccentricity of the character.

Cant say I'm on board for Maron but I haven't seen him in Glow yet.

Part of me wants them to say **** it and bring back JK.

Watch him be a blogger named J3 (cubed) or something.

All of Spidey's blunders in Homecoming could tie in perfectly to Jameson's antagonism.

I'm curious how the Bugle will be represented. Newspapers are still a thing, yes, and if Daredevil is any indication- even though the Netflix world is its own little corner- the power of the press is still potent. So could be the Bugle still BE what we'd expect, or maybe something more hip and modern, like a Buzzfeed or Gawker-esque website?

Kevin Feige said the Bugle is more of a 1950s idea that doesn't really exist anymore, so I'd expect it to be online if they decide to keep JJJ a news magnate.

Maron?

(Collating data)

Yes. Yes, he could totally do it and he would fit into the world of Homecoming quite well. Keep his regular stache but give him the classic buzz cut. It would be a less campy more grounded version but he totally could pull up for a perpetually P'OD narcissistic blowhard who bullies all around him but is entertaining as hell when he does it. It would be different than J.K. but Holland is different from Toby.

The Bugle could be a clickbait TMZish deal.

I love Maron, but that is such an odd choice given how much of a sarcastic, sardonic misanthrope he is. He's an ass (but he's beta), but he's not JJJ material, imo. Far from it and I can love his comedy, his show, podcast and everything, but just can't see it. It's the new Spidey, I understand things can change, but J.J. doesn't have to in order to accommodate an new generation.

Cranston would kill that role, imo, and we should start beating the drums and campaign now.

Secretly, I don't give a d@mn wouldn't mind seeing J.K. Simmons back as the character.

Eh I wouldn't want the Bugle to be turn into a tabloid though. I wouldn't care if they made the Bugle completely digital but I think they would be above sites like TMZ.
