No Way Home "With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility" - Tobey Maguire Returns As RaimiVerse Spider-Man

I'm not expecting it to happen, but a Spider-Man 4 with Tobey, Kristen and directed by Raimi would be ridiculously huge right now, especially coming off the success of this movie.

I definitely want to see more of Maguire going forward, but they will probably save it for something like Secret Wars along with possibly bringing Andrew back which would be great aswell.

It's crazy to me how much the younger generations still love the guy as Peter Parker/Spider-Man which didn't hit me until I saw the response, he got on opening night when he appeared.

As loud as the buzz and excitement was for Andrew, Tobey's reveal hit on a whole other level and I heard a bunch of kids and teens sitting next me respectfully calling him the real OG Spider-Man.

The Raimi era still carries a lot of weight for people even all these years later.
Agreed. His version of the character struck a cord with an entire generation of people, me being one of them. He'll always be the OG to me and he'll always be my favorite Spider-Man. I don't see that ever changing. The heart and soul of his performance resonated with me greatly.

Also, while Andrew got a big pop at my showing, Tobeys blew the roof off of the building.

If Sony wants to make a live-action Miles Morales, I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the Raimi or Webb verse where Peter is killed, Miles takes up the mantle, and Peter from the other universe hops over to be Miles' mentor.

I do wish there was just one one on one conversation scene with Tobey Peter and Tom Peter.

That’s literally what happens in Spider-verse. They wouldn’t copy that exact story.

Tobey showing up was the best part of the movie. Just seeing him actually there after all this time as if he never left it made me teary eyed. It was surreal seeing him. I had a rush of adrenaline. It was great. Like Dafoe and Molina, he is just so dammed good it's on another level compared to everything else.

I'd prefer Raimiverse use Mayday Parker and TASM go with Miles.
Those would be the best fits for each respective world, yeah. They even had a meta joke in there with Electro and his Spidey about Miles.

A Tobey/Kristen movie with MayDay Parker just makes too much sense.

This is what Kristen told Variety in November when asked about her returning:

“I would never say no to something like that. I’d be old MJ at this point with little Spidey babies.”

Sony might have already had preliminary conversations about a MayDay movie with her.

Warner Bros is making a Batgirl movie, afterall (HBO Max exclusive, but still). That's likely gonna have Keaton Bruce mentoring a new generation of Bat-hero. Marvel and Sony just beat The Flash movie to the punch with this movie, and that's riding big on the Keaton Batman nostalgia. I've said it before but the studios like to compete with each other and make similar things around the same time, so you never know. I just like pointing it out.

I always thought it was a missed opportunity for Marvel to not try and sell the daughter of Spider-Man more, her original comic run lasted longer than any other female superhero there due to fan support, and they were doubly successful in mainstream bookfair markets. A character being connected to Spidey like that could be a big deal if they capitalized on it better finally.

That would be Ideal for me too.

It's incredible how, when Tobey appeared in NWH, it felt like he never stopped playing his version of Peter. He just owned the role so naturally. Same for Andrew whose Peter actually improved in this movie. It just felt magic.

Good to hear that she might at least be open to it.

These are for adults, I’m curious to find out who are kids of this generation’s favorite Spider-Man is. Which given the recency of the Holland movies I have imagine Holland would be the favorite.

The poll has a generational breakdown as well.

Tobey still wins with Gen Z: 38% to 33% against Holland.

You mean to say that’s the only post-NWH Maguire and Garfield appearance that you expect to realistically going to happen over Spider-Man 4 and Amazing Spider-Man 3. :o

Yes. I don't see TASM3 or SM4 happening. If we see them again, I bet it is there or maybe in Secret Wars if they opt to make that a multiverse version
