The Amazing Spider-Man 2 With Great Sequel Comes Great Lounging - Part 1

Going to see Iron Man 3 this weekend! I've stayed away from every review as I usually do prior to seeing a movie I'm excited for, so I don't go into the movie with any predetermined mindset. Hopefully I come outta this one with a good experience.

Been watching lots of action scenes on youtube. I didn't like The Dark Knight Rises but there was nothing wrong with those fight scenes.(Except when Bane talked)

I loved Bane in DKR, and the fight scenes were great, but the first and third acts made me upset.

Lol, TDKR is definitely up there with Batman Returns when it comes to polarizing CBMs. I always found the second act to be the one that gets on my nerves whenever I watch the film, but as anyone can tell, it is my favorite CBM even with my nitpicks(and I do have a few). The Batman v Bane fights were very well done, but I wish the second one was as long as the first, but it makes SOME sense as the second go around, Batman was calculating his moves.

So I received a free movie ticket today and I think I'm gonna man up and see IM3 tomorrow night. Was going to wait and see it whenever, but it's a free ticket, so why not.

Just saw it. Good, silly fun. The tone strayed a little too comedic at times for my liking, but Downey Jr. pulls it off so well that its easier to swallow. The twist... Well, I can see why they did it, but it still seems pretty lame. If they would have gone the route they made it seem they were going, I think it could have been a better movie. Oh well.

All in all, very entertaining, funny, lots of good action, Downey at his best, but the villain(s) to me were lacking and the tone was too light. 7 out of 10. Enjoyable but pretty mindless.

Just saw it last night. I made a video review of it that I'm uploading now.

Videos uploaded finally.
Long story short, I liked it. I had a nitpick here and an infuriating moment there, but all in all I thought it was a damn good flick.

Saw IM 3 last night and I feel mixed about the twist. It was hilarious but Kingsley was kinda useless after that, which is too bad cuz he was really good in the role.

Only thing that really bothered me was the humor. Some of it was good but in other parts it felt really forced and sucked the drama out of the movie.

7/10 movie had flaws but I mostly enjoyed it

:csad: Reading so much about the humor....is it too much even for a IM film?

For me, Iron Man 2 had too much humor. Watching it, it was pretty obvious that it had been written by someone who was more into comedy than anything else. For Iron Man 3, it was genuinely funny, and to me it almost never felt forced. So while there was a lot of humor, it was actually pretty sharp and witty, and it was all pretty much in character. Much much better than Iron Man 2.

However, I still would have liked some more focus on the more serious aspects of the film, ie Tony's "problems". Some more character moments and drama would have helped a lot.

But Anno, I think if you go in with fairly low expectations like I did, you'll find a lot to enjoy.

Oh, I'm going in with low expectations alright. I'm just going to see Robert Downey, Jr.

Acting-wise I think everyone turned in a stellar performance. Actually, out of them all, Guy Pearce's character was my favorite character in the film.

Even the little kid was really good. Lots of times kid actors are more annoying than anything, but that was definitely not the case here.

I think that TDKR is the one story that could have worked even better with a Part 1 and Part 2 story. Its one of the stories that can justify being a 2 parter rather than just for money. They probably had enough footage to cut it to two movies too. I never got the feeling for 3 distinct acts in the movie. The first half of the movie could have just ended with Bruce stuck in the prison, and Part 2 would be his "Rise". I just felt that some parts were little rushed and could have been fleshed out more if given more time and two movies.

Agree. TDKR could have very well been given two parts, but instead Nolan was dead set on only a "beginning, middle and end" and wanted the ending to just be one film and to fit under the IMAX time restraints. Besides a few problems I have, I feel that TDKR was just fine, but I will always enjoy the idea what could have been with a two-parter finale.

Some small IM3 spoilers having to do with TASM.

So I guess Max Dillon will be like Aldrich Killian at the beginning of IM3. He looked like a pure loner guy who's desperate and nerdy looking. And maybe Connors should take some Extremis since the whole Lizard-Serum didn't work out so well.

^ lol true , if only they were a shared universe

On my way back home from IM3...and as I predicted, this movie is solid acting-wise as well as the CGI...but the story falls flat and only slightly better than Iron Man 2 in that way.

My other problem I have besides the twist is

the fact that a "terrorist" is involved and yet S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't used to its potential. As others feels about Gotham City's voice and soul should have its biggest moment yet in TDKR, S.H.I.E.L.D. should be used the most in a film where there's supposedly a terrorist involved.

If he gets passed any side effects like Pepper, Connors will be fine, lol.

And the real Iron Patriot could be used :o

Just saw Iron Man 3.

I didn't like it.

I don't want to talk about it.

Yes, realistically Shield should have been involved, but I was glad that we got another Iron Man movie that was pretty much strictly about Iron Man. I prefer it that way as opposed to what we got in #2.
