To each their own, then. :)

I just never bought Steve Roger's patriotism in CA: TFA.

Was it Chris Evans' performance? Cause the whole movie seemed to focus on Steve's patriotism and wanting to be there for his country.

I think it was a mix of Chris Evans' performance/delivery and the writing. The way he said some of his lines felt a bit weird to me, and I didn't like the idea of this wimpy guy trying to get himself recruited into the military over and over again despite the fact that he keeps getting denied.

I can totally understand the not liking Evans' performance--as much as I felt he did a good job in the role, it wasn't exemplary in the way of an RDJ or a Garfield, imo.

But...the whole idea that he had a belief that he was meant for a purpose and never gave up trying to fulfill that idea was an integral part of the character. He had the inner strength to be Capt America but not the physical strength and that's why he was chosen.

I mean I'm not trying to say the movie was bad or anything, but I felt it was pretty weak. Though there is still a small part of me that wishes we could get more Captain America WWII stories.

I went in with low expectations and was surprised by the film. Maybe that has something to do with my rating. I watched the movie again just recently on FX a few days ago and I feel the same. The movie itself was kinda an underdog of sorts and in my eyes it overcame and won. I really like the direction they're taking with CA and the trailers look great. I agree with you about seeing more WWII stuff but they really didn't have much of choice with the Avengers movie being planned. It would have been nice had they made one sooner than TFA, around the time IM1 had released. This way the time factor wouldn't have been an issue.

I want more WW2 films as well. I'm hoping that time-lapse montage can allow them to go back and make prequels without having to do retcons.

I think that would be awesome, but I doubt it'll happen unless they can find a bigger purpose for it. Maybe a prequel/flashback film would give away more clues or tie in with an upcoming Avengers film?

You could literally write anything or come up with any reasoning for doing it but the emboldened is a major factor. It's gotta be something relevant, imo. A prequel imo would work better than a flashback film.

I beat The Last of Us for the second time. This time I tried to get all the collectibles. I was mostly successful. I only have 35/37 conversations and I have no idea how to check and find the two I missed.

Awesome. Different difficulty setting? That game is scary lol. Been meaning to do that.

And sometimes not only the people, but objects have the talk option.

I was working with a video guide so I'm really not sure what I could have missed.

I played it on New Game +. I was able to get NG+ Easy, Normal, Comics, Pendants, Artifacts, Shiv Doors, Training Manuals, Joel Upgrades, All Collectibles, and the Jokes Trophies in my second playthrough. Just missed convos and weapon upgrades.

The only system exclusive games I played on the PS3 are Uncharted 2, inFAMOUS, and Kratos 3
Uncharted is the only one I was interested in its story, so didn't try to skip the cutscenes
The other two are guilty of the unskipable cutscenes, I LOATHE that movement

I hate it when you have to replay a certain part of a game because of the difficulty--you keep dying in the same spot, and you have to watch the same cutscene over and over.

Exactly
All developers need to seriously implement Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands style of skipping the cutscenes, it asks if you want to skip the scene

I beat The Last Of Us a couple months ago. Easily one of the best games of 2013.

I couldn't do it. It's like only watching action scenes in a movie. I need the whole experience. I would find the jumps quite jarring if I didn't know what was happening. Sounds like insanity.

I have never skipped any cutscene in a game. Maybe intros or things like that, but I understand that modern games are the whole experience, not just the gameplay.

By the way, MGSV Ground Zeroes leaked yesterday, today two guys were streaming it and apparently the ending is blocked for streaming. Kojima likes trolling.

I feel like waiting till MGS V actually comes out before getting Ground Zeroes.

I hate the idea of "Story importance to a video game"

Whaaaaaaat?

I need a story to everything. Stories drive my entertainment experience.
